"You must be thirsty, let me get you a glass of water."
Bai Hui'er found an excuse to get up and go pour some water, thinking about cooling her flushed cheeks outside. Her heart was still pounding.
She felt so embarrassed, having said those words in front of a man. Bai Hui'er was just that kind of person, having been educated traditionally from a young age; traditional views were deeply ingrained in her.
After a while, she returned with a thermos but found that Jiang Xiaobai was no longer on the hospital bed.
"Where is he?"
Bai Hui'er quickly went out to search for him, but couldn't find Jiang Xiaobai anywhere in the hallway.
"How could he get out of bed and walk around? The wound is stitched up; what if the stitches break? What then?"
Just as Bai Hui'er was frantically worried, Jiang Xiaobai returned. His steps weren't as nimble and steady as usual, but he didn't seem to be severely injured; it apparently didn't affect him much.
