Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: The Battle of Courage and Ferocity

"Jiang Xiaobai, I'll fuck your ancestors!"

Liu Changhe, holding a kitchen knife, came to the gate of Jiang Xiaobai's house and kicked the gate open fiercely, charging in like an enraged blind bear.

Jiang Xiaobai was planning to go to the town to collect crayfish. Seeing Liu Changhe coming furiously, he quickly grabbed the iron rod behind the door and hid, ready to catch Liu Changhe off guard with a surprise attack.

Although he was not afraid of Liu Changhe, he knew his slender build was no match for the burly Liu Changhe. To win in this mismatched battle, he couldn't be reckless; only by staying calm could he possibly win.

Anger had already made Liu Changhe lose his reason. He strode into the house without expecting an ambush from Jiang Xiaobai.

"Ah—"

Before he even saw a hair on Jiang Xiaobai, Liu Changhe's head took a blow from the iron rod. Since Jiang Xiaobai had decided to fight Liu Changhe, he showed no mercy, knowing well that Liu Changhe would not show any either.

The strike with the iron rod cracked open Liu Changhe's head, blood gushing out. Liu Changhe touched the back of his head, his hand coming away covered in blood. Turning around violently, he was unaware that another blow was coming for his shoulder, making him grimace in pain.

"You little bastard, I'll slaughter you!"

Liu Changhe thought Jiang Xiaobai would be like a docile sheep, easy for the taking, but Jiang Xiaobai was not a sheep, he was a vicious wolf ready to bite!

Liu Changhe's blade fell towards Jiang Xiaobai's head. Blinded with rage, if the knife truly hit, Jiang Xiaobai would be dead on the spot.

Jiang Xiaobai had thought that one strike could have knocked Liu Changhe out cold, but the result was not as he intended. Unable to end it with one blow, Jiang Xiaobai had to dodge, using his speed advantage to circle Liu Changhe and wait for another chance to strike.

This way of fighting drove Liu Changhe to desperation. He couldn't get near Jiang Xiaobai, let alone seriously injure him. If Jiang Xiaobai dared to face him head-on, he was confident he could take Jiang Xiaobai down within two minutes. But Jiang Xiaobai simply wouldn't.

Jiang Xiaobai's speed was beyond Liu Changhe's imagination. Liu Changhe was led on a merry chase, exhausting him to the point of breathlessness. Not only could Liu Changhe not land a hit on Jiang Xiaobai, but Jiang Xiaobai also took advantage of opportunities to strike back, further infuriating him till he howled in frustration.

Just when Liu Changhe was at his wit's end, he suddenly caught sight of Jiang Xiaobai's grandfather Jiang Feng's spiritual tablet inside the house. A plan sprang to his mind, and he stopped chasing Jiang Xiaobai and headed for the house instead.

Inside, Liu Changhe grabbed the spiritual tablet of Jiang Feng from the table and sneered, "Jiang Xiaobai, keep running and I'll smash your grandfather's spiritual tablet!" With that, Liu Changhe had Jiang Feng's spiritual tablet under his foot, ready to crush it with one forceful step.

"Liu Changhe, you're despicable!"

Jiang Xiaobai's eyes widened, not expecting Liu Changhe to stoop to such a vile tactic.

Then Liu Changhe picked up Jiang Feng's portrait and said, "Throw away the iron rod in your hand and come over here, or not only will I smash your grandfather's spiritual tablet, I will also throw your grandfather's portrait into my family's urine bucket for a nice bath!"

Jiang Xiaobai painfully closed his eyes. His grandfather had been humiliated by these villains while alive; he couldn't let his memory be desecrated by Liu Changhe after death.

"Liu Changhe, put my grandfather's spiritual tablet and portrait back. Kill or flay me as you wish, I won't resist."

Jiang Xiaobai swung his arm, throwing the iron rod far away from him.

But Liu Changhe didn't return the spiritual tablet and portrait to their place. They were his bargaining chips in coercing Jiang Xiaobai and he wouldn't put them back until he achieved his goal.

"You little bastard!"

Liu Changhe, holding Jiang Feng's spiritual tablet and portrait, walked out with a grim look in his eyes. The kitchen knife in his hand glinted dazzlingly under the sunlight, evidently razor-sharp.

"You caused my son to lose his manhood, so I'm going to chop yours off and feed it to the dogs! Jiang Xiaobai, take off your pants; I'm going to sever your lineage!"

Liu Changhe's sinister laughter echoed in the Jiang family's courtyard. Before the laughter had died down, village secretary Lai Changqing arrived at the gate, leading three people with him.

"Liu Changhe, what are you doing!"

Liu Changhe looked in the direction of the voice and saw behind Lai Changqing the town mayor Wan Honglei, and another man roughly thirty years old with gold-rimmed glasses who seemed familiar, but he couldn't recall from where at the moment. Beside the familiar man stood a girl, about seventeen or eighteen years old, fair-skinned and beautiful, radiating an affluent aura that clashed with the surroundings of the impoverished village.

Jiang Xiaobai had already taken off his pants, and Liu Changhe was upholding the knife, ready to act, just as Lai Changqing led Wan Honglei and his group in, witnessing the scene.

All the men present were startled—no one had expected such an asset from the thin youngster. Shen Bingqian quickly turned her head away in embarrassment upon seeing the unsightly thing between Jiang Xiaobai's thighs.

"Jiang Xiaobai, what kind of behavior is this! Pull up your pants immediately!" Lai Changqing rebuked sternly.

Jiang Xiaobai pulled up his pants, having seen Shen Bingqian, he thought that for Mayor Wan Honglei to accompany her personally, her connections must run deep.

"Miss Shen, Secretary Fang, I'm so sorry, you've really seen something embarrassing," Wan Honglei said with an apologetic smile.

Hearing Wan Honglei address the familiar man as "Secretary Fang," Liu Changhe immediately remembered.

He realized that the secretary to County Chief Shen Rongfu had arrived, so the "Miss Shen" standing beside him was naturally Shen Rongfu's daughter.

"Why would they come here?" confusion fogged Liu Changhe's mind.

"Jiang Xiaobai, come here."

Wan Honglei gestured, summoning Jiang Xiaobai over.

"Miss Shen wants to speak with you. You'd better cooperate," he said.

Shen Bingqian furrowed her brows and spoke coldly, "Mayor Wan, I came here to express my gratitude, not to catch someone and interrogate them. What's there to cooperate with?"

Shen Bingqian's obvious protection of Jiang Xiaobai altered the way Wan Honglei, Lai Changqing, and Liu Changhe looked at Jiang Xiaobai.

"Since when did this kid latch onto such a powerful figure?" Liu Changhe thought, sensing trouble. With the daughter of the county chief backing Jiang Xiaobai, it would be difficult for him to touch Jiang Xiaobai.

"Aren't you the little crybaby, what brings you here?"

Seeing Shen Bingqian, Jiang Xiaobai still acted in his frivolous, irreverent manner, irritating everyone present except for Shen Bingqian, who all wanted to drag him over and give him a beating.

"Why did you leave without saying goodbye yesterday? I made a promise to you—if you could save my Arhat fish, I would give you my BMW. I'm here today to deliver the BMW to you."

Shen Bingqian took out the car keys from her bag, twirled them around her finger, then tossed them to Jiang Xiaobai.

"From now on, the BMW outside is yours."
