Chapter 22 - Silent Witnesses

Through the thick glass of the orbital station "Hope's" viewport, the cosmonauts silently watched the unfolding tragedy. Their gazes, filled with horror and helplessness, were fixed on the blue planet that, just hours ago, had been their home.

"No communication," the expedition commander, Alexei Volkov, said dully, his eyes glued to the viewport. "Not with Deltatron, not with any other base."

"What… what was that?" asked flight engineer Elena Ivanova, her voice trembling.

The monitors still flickered with the last images received from the satellites before communication was lost. A fireball, expanding at an incredible rate, consuming everything in its path. And then—nothing. Only emptiness.

"Looks like… some kind of explosion," pilot Ivan Sergeev suggested, but his voice lacked conviction. "But of such magnitude… I've never seen anything like it."

They were silent, paralyzed by horror. The planet, their home, was disappearing before their eyes. Consumed by a fiery vortex, it was transforming into something incomprehensible, alien.

"And what is that… creature?" Elena asked, pointing to the gigantic feline figure now clearly visible against the backdrop of the planet.

"I don't know," Alexei replied, his voice hoarse. "I've never seen anything like it before."

They watched as the giant cat, Goddess Jizi, consumed the remnants of their world. And then, with no less horror, they witnessed the planet begin to regenerate, expand, and take on new forms.

"It's… it's creating a new world," Elena whispered, her voice filled with awe and fear.

"But at what cost?" Ivan asked, his gaze fixed on the viewport.

They understood that they had become silent witnesses to the death of their world and the birth of a new one. What awaited them next, they didn't know. They were alone in the vastness of space, on a tiny orbital station, the last fragment of humanity. Their only connection to the past was the memory of a planet that no longer existed. And the silent question hanging in the air: what awaited them in this new, unknown world?
