Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: King Cold

Drip Drip Drip

The sound of splashing water rippled out into the dark void, as Sado stood near the river, his spikey hair dripping water. He had recently entered the river before hurriedly leaving it. The reason for his sudden rush was due to an odd noise. The sound of light footsteps.

Sado's eyes were sharply glaring over the river, piercing into the dark forest. The sound of three more steps ripped until Sado locked his eyes on something. But before I can tell you what it was, I must explain something to you. Sado has lived his entire young life in complete darkness, and with saiyans natural adaptability it shouldn't be a surprise that Sado's eyes have adapted to the dark and he could see clearly, almost like it was day.

His pupils enlarged, as the figure of a small girl came into view, before the two locked eyes and she quickly sprinted away.

Sado could only stare at her confused. For the first time, Sado experienced some type of emotion in that brief moment of eye contact. Sado learned that he wasn't alone. People like him also exist. Unfortunately for Sado, this would be the final time he would have met this saiyan. Shortly after this, she starved to death.

This was the main reason, she appeared at the river trying to find a source of food, that's when she saw Sado. Even at a mere glance, she could tell Sado was stronger than her and quickly retreated from the river.

The confused look on Sado's face remained until suddenly, the ground under him began to tremble extremely, pebbles falling from the cave's ceiling raining onto Sado, as he looked up into the dark sky, wondering what was causing the tremors...

On The Surface Of Planet Vegeta Inside King Vegeta Palace: Powerful energy swept through the palace, causing red banners dangling from the elegant ceiling to flap wildly. Blood covered the floor, as a furious King Cold towered over King Vegeta. Who was on the ground with blood pouring down his face?

" I said you had two weeks! Two weeks to conquer Planet Apple, and you're saying you haven't even conquered half of the planet yet?! "

" Do you know what happens when we Saiyans reach Planet Apple's Northern Hemisphere? " Pleaded King Vegeta while gasping for air. The sheer killing intent engulfing him, caused sweat to pour down his face. King Cold raised his large foot before slamming into King Vegeta, cracking his saiyan armor, as blood flew out of King Vegeta's mouth.

'Do you think I care? Are you trying to reason with me? I don't care why or how, just conquer the damn planet!! " Roared King Cold, digging his foot deeper and deeper into King Vegeta's chest.

King Vegeta could only grit his teeth, while glancing down at King Cold's foot, which blurred and a powerful kick slammed into King Vegeta's skull, slamming his head into the floor knocking him out cold.

" How pathetic. You have a single month. After that, it's your life. "...

A week later on Planet Apple:

Three full weeks have passed since the beginning of Planet Apple's invasion, even though the Saiyans haven't run into any fierce resistance from Planet Apple forces/soldiers. They have so far only reached the northern hemisphere of the planet. Which marks a celebration, from the young saiyans.

It's currently dark and two moons illuminate the dark chilly sky. On the snow covered ground, the signs of tents illuminated by campfires could be seen right at the equator of Planet Apple. Several saiyans sat around the fire sitting on large collapsed logs.

Leeks was included with this group of Saiyans, as large mugs of the finest Saiyan booze, are in their rough hands. The group was chatty until a young Saiyan looked over at Leeks and spoke.

" Hey, Leeks. You're an elite class saiyan aren't you? One from King Vegeta's squad right? If so, why the hell are you in this freezing shithole? " Leeks scoffed to himself, before taking a swig and responding.

" You'll find out soon enough. " The young Saiyan could only stare at Leeks confused, as a powerful gust of wind swept through, causing the fire to flicker rapidly and almost go out. Leeks could only glance down at the fire through the red scouter on his face before taking a breath.

" And here the wind had calmed down the last few days. I hoped the powerful winds would drift into gentle breezes. " Mumbled Leeks, before he noticed something off in the distance, leaning against a tree.

An elderly saiyan with his arms crossed, graying hair and scars on his biceps and face, making him difficult to even look at. And yet, Leeks looked him in the eyes, and with this moment of eye contact, Leeks and the old man knew exactly what each other was thinking.

Without any signs or warnings. Leeks stood up from the log and calmly approached the old man, before stopping directly next to him. An awkward moment of silence engulfed the two men before the elderly man finally spoke.

" Are you not going to tell them what happened? When we crossed over to the northern hemisphere?"

" There's no point. If they knew what happened, their morale would be crushed in an instant. Half of our army wouldn't dare cross it. " Responded Leeks glancing into the empty mug still in his hand. Before shaking it, causing the few remaining droplets to flow down to the bottom of the mug, the elderly Saiyan grunted before responding.

" That's true. But do you really think our race is that cowardly? "

" Not at all. There are some who would cross the equator, but. As soon as they realize the grave danger they are in, they will run away, just like we did. If I warn them, they will cross the line knowing it will happen, and once it does, they will be calmly defeated...But if I don't warn them, panic will happen, and with panic comes chaos and with chaos comes opportunity. " The elderly man could only scoff at this idea before speaking.

" So you're sacrificing us for your own benefit, Leeks? "

" Not at all. Last time we lost thousands. We will be lucky to only lose hundreds. If sacrificing hundreds guarantees to stop a repeat of what happened last time, I will gladly do it- *Beep* *Beep*

Before Leeks could finish his sentence, the scouter on his face and the old man's face suddenly beeped, catching both of them off guard. Quickly Leeks raised his hand pressing two fingers on the scouter, as a message drowned in static played out.

" This is a message to all! They are everywhere! Everyone! We are being attacked! I repeat we are getting attacke- " Before the saiyan could finish his words, the transmission abruptly cut off. A wave of shock swept through Leeks and the old saiyan, with their knowledge of the previous failed invasion of Planet Apple. They never expected the Appleians to bring the fight to them.

Throughout the campfire Leeks was currently staying at, the saiyans all around swiftly stood up from the logs, and hurriedly prepared to cross the equator to engage with the surprise Appleian counterattack. Seeing this a wave of panic swept through Leeks' racing heart as he waved his hand and screamed out.

" Don't cross the equator! You damned! Idiots!-

What Leeks said earlier was completely true. With chaos comes opportunity. However, something he forgot to mention was that with chaos it is quite easy to get consumed by it. When everything happens in an instant, when you're not prepared, and there's no one that predicted this to happen. You naturally panic, and lapses of judgment flood your mind, and when Leeks screamed this.

A lapse in judgment occurred. His mind was flooded with the safety of others and not of his own. Letting an action slip through his defenses that would never occur normally. Before Leeks could react, a ball of energy dashed through his right ear, disintegrating it immediately.

Blood spewed, as Leeks eyes drifted tracking his blood flying throughout the air, right in time to see the swift blast slam into the elderly saiyan's face, blowing the right side of his head off killing him instantly. A loud thud rippled out as his body collapsed on the ground followed by a deep voice.

" I heard your plan. How selfish. "

A large silhouette with a massive sword resting on his shoulder, tattoos covering his body. To us, we knew who this was. It was Gala however, to Leeks. He had no clue who he was. Leeks grew quiet as the scouter on his face swiftly scanned Gala...But, it was not the outcome Leeks had hoped for.

" 16,025" Mumbled Leeks, as he tightly closed his fists, while Gala continued to speak.

" You spoke about chaos. Well, here it is. Chaos all around! " Said Gala cockily, as Leek's eyes began to glance around. The once peaceful campsite was filled with screams, and the sound of fighting. The few saiyans were dramatically overwhelmed by the sheer amount of Appleian soldiers that appeared with Gala, and are currently getting pushed back.

" I don't know much about you Saiyans. I know you are prideful bastards believing your race to be superior to our own. But let me tell you one thing, us Appleians will never sacrifice each other, as soon as we find out, you are one of us. It's in our blood. In our DNA to protect one another. So, you can sacrifice all the lives you want. I won't do the same. "

" Really? And yet you brought them here? " Responded Leeks with a grin on his face. A confused look covered Gala's face until he finally figured out what Leeks meant, and spoke while lifting his sword off his shoulder.

" You talked about making an opportunity out of chaos. So come make one. "...
