To Brian's surprise,
Glenn hadn't taken Shaina to some place more suitable for the two of them to be together; instead, he followed the flow of traffic and ended up at a hospital in the city.
After the two left,
Brian went in to inquire and found out
that Glenn was just accompanying Shaina for some gynecological exams.
Shaina's condition wasn't good.
Her long-term indulgence, drug abuse, and erratic sleeping patterns had caused her body, and uterus, to be in poor shape.
Her baby was at risk of miscarriage.
If she wanted to save this child,
it would cost a lot of money.
Shaina obviously didn't have that kind of money.

the latter half of her life would be short and joyless.
Falling further into prostitution to satisfy her growing addiction
was her likely fate.
