Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Braised Spicy Beef Noodles

He didn't think much of it at first, but taking a closer look truly startled Mu Rufeng.

The variety of goods inside was extensive, including multiple sections akin to categories for daily necessities, vegetables, fruits, snacks, beverages, and the like.

It was practically identical to the preferred choices in the real world.

Only, the items here were quite unique, all targeted at the residents of the Mysterious World.

Mu Rufeng first clicked on the beverage category and, lo and behold, the first product that caught his eye was Scarlet Eyeball.

The second was also Scarlet Eyeball, the former being 1.5 liters, and the latter 500 ml.

Mu Rufeng skimmed through all the categories of goods and was still left wanting more.

Sadly, it could be said that ninety-nine percent of the products inside were unusable by the living.

However, Mu Rufeng noted the price of Scarlet Eyeball and compared it to that in the vending machine.

Mu Rufeng just wanted to say that Crimson Preferred was truly cheap.

The prices in the vending machine were set to match the normal prices in the Mysterious World.

For instance, the 1.5-liter Scarlet Eyeball sold for five dollars in the vending machine, while on Crimson Preferred, it was only three dollars, though you had to buy a whole case.

Similarly, a 500 ml Scarlet Eyeball cost one and a half dollars per bottle and also required a case purchase.

Buy today, and the goods would be delivered the next day.

Moreover, miraculously, they could be delivered right into your hands, though that would incur a certain fee.

To have free delivery, you would have to set a pick-up point near your location, and once the goods arrived, you'd have to collect them yourself.

It was extremely convenient.

...

Time ticked away by the second.

With ten minutes left before his shift started, a large truck came to a slow halt on the platform.

Mu Rufeng also didn't forget Chang Feng's reminder to work hard.

He immediately stepped forward, reached into the fog, and touched the goods inside.

"Well I'll be, red-braised Mad Bull noodles," Mu Rufeng was somewhat flabbergasted.

The noodles that the Tentacle Monster had unloaded that morning were nothing but Fresh Fragrant Corpse Worm Noodles, but what arrived this time was Mad Bull noodles.

Mu Rufeng recalled that on Crimson Preferred, a case of this stuff sold for forty-five bucks with twelve buckets to a case, which worked out to three dollars and seventy-five cents per bucket.

In the vending machine, however, one bucket sold for five dollars.

You had to admit, it was a lot cheaper.

Remembering what Sister Chunni said, he could also work during the lunch break.

Mu Rufeng directly took a pallet jack, dragged over a stack of pallet boards, and began unloading the goods.

```
I have to say, these instant noodles were really light.
Mu Rufeng could carry ten cases at a time with both hands.
And stacking the goods was easy, too; he didn't need to rearrange the stacks, as long as they weren't too high.
He was so sure of this because he saw how An Lu unloaded the noodles that morning.
If he kept up this pace, Mu Rufeng believed he could finish the job in twenty minutes.
This wasn't Mu Rufeng making an empty boast.
When An Lu started unloading the noodles, thanks to his multiple tentacles, he was even faster than Mu Rufeng.
The only reason it took an hour and twenty minutes in the end was that the truck drivers liked to meddle.
Of course, they didn't intervene directly but used their advantage as drivers to manipulate the environment inside the trailer, thus delaying the unloading.
Since Mu Rufeng had loaded the Zombie Template, he had multiple attributes and was immune to factors that would disadvantage him, completely unaffected.
Ten minutes flashed by in an instant.
It was one o'clock in the afternoon, and work hours had arrived.
An Lu, who had been absent all morning, appeared at the warehouse right on time.
When he saw Mu Rufeng unloading the noodles, he was shockingly surprised.
Not because Mu Rufeng was unloading fast, but because he regretted not arriving earlier to snatch up that cargo for himself.
Alas, there were no what-ifs.
"Heh, we'll see if you can last through tonight," An Lu said coldly as he looked at Mu Rufeng, then leaned against the wall and sat down, waiting for the next truck to arrive.
During the day, Crimson Preferred was a very calm place, but once night fell...
Another ten minutes went by.
Only the tailboard was left of that cargo.
As with the previous two deliveries, the terrified driver handed Mu Rufeng a one hundred dollar bill, asking him to take a break and resume unloading after an hour.
Mu Rufeng pocketed the money, got out of the truck, and stood on the platform.
By chance, An Lu emerged from the truck's cargo area, pulling a cart of goods.
His gaze toward Mu Rufeng was ice cold.
While Mu Rufeng was unloading, the second truck arrived.
This truck was stocked with Blood Flower Beer, and An Lu was unloading very carefully. Naturally, this meant he was slow, but two hours should still be manageable.
One could say that the current situation stood in stark contrast to the morning.
"Might as well take a nap," said Mu Rufeng. He still had at least an hour to wait and, bored to death, felt sleepy again.
This time, however, he didn't go into the trailer but went to the receiving area and fell asleep on the table.
Of course, he didn't forget to set several alarms.
But Mu Rufeng didn't need the alarms to wake him, as he was roused by someone else.
The person calling him was none other than An Lu.
"Mu Rufeng, could you please help me unload some cargo?" An Lu's tone was oddly strained, as if he was forcing the words out.
"Huh?" Mu Rufeng had just woken up and was still disoriented, not catching on right away.
"I'm unloading too slowly, could you please help me out?" An Lu said, struggling to speak.
"What? You're unloading too slowly and want me to help?" Mu Rufeng responded as if he had heard something unbelievable.
"I mean, Brother An Lu, you have five tentacles and a pair of hands. You're telling me you're too slow at unloading?"
"Even if it's Blood Flower Beer, surely you could unload it in two hours, right?" Mu Rufeng looked at An Lu with suspicion.
An Lu revealed a painfully forced smile and said, "This truck driver is tough to deal with; he's affecting me too much."
