Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 The Food in the Cafeteria

Mu Rufeng chuckled and said, "Sister Chunni, count the items while I talk to him."

"Okay, go Xiao Mu, I'll count slowly," Chunni nodded.

Then, Mu Rufeng and An Lu walked out of the warehouse.

An Lu said coldly, "What the hell do you want?"

"I didn't do anything," Mu Rufeng said.

"Just take your goods already. Whatever your conditions are, spit them out," An Lu said.

"One hundred yuan. Just give that, and I'll have Sister Chunni take the goods immediately," Mu Rufeng said straightforwardly without beating around the bush.

"You're looking for death!" An Lu's tentacles violently lashed out in all directions.

An Lu's figure also became monstrously tall, his mouth splitting down to his ears, revealing a dense array of sharp teeth, a truly terrifying sight.

Seeing this, Mu Rufeng remained completely unfazed.

"If you want to make a move, rest assured, I definitely won't fight back," Mu Rufeng said with a light smile.

"I don't have that much money on me," An Lu said, suppressing the fury in his heart and returning to his original form.

"How much do you have?" Mu Rufeng asked.

"I only have fifty yuan," An Lu said.

"Fifty yuan? Heh, truck drivers who've only been here a few days all have fifty yuan. And you, an old employee, are telling me you only have fifty?" Mu Rufeng chuckled.

"Here, you need money for food, shelter, and transportation, plus the entangling film also costs money. Also, I just went to see Supervisor Wang, I only have fifty on me," An Lu said.

"Alright, alright, hand over the fifty yuan," Mu Rufeng said after a moment's thought and took the fifty yuan from An Lu.

With fifty yuan from An Lu, Mu Rufeng returned to the warehouse with a smile on his face.

"Sister Chunni, have you nearly finished counting?" Mu Rufeng approached Chunni.

"Mhm, Xiao Mu, almost done, only the tailgate is left to count, and then I'll be done," Chunni nodded.

After Chunni finished counting and confirmed the numbers were correct on the list, she handed the phone to Mu Rufeng.

"Here, sign your name and take a photo, then it can be put into storage," Chunni said.

Mu Rufeng nodded, took the phone, signed his name, and, holding two ten-yuan bills in his hand, returned the phone to her.

"Thank you, Sister Chunni," Mu Rufeng said with a smile.

"No trouble at all," Chunni quickly pocketed the twenty yuan, a smile plastered on her face.

After the photo was taken, Chunni said, "All the goods have been received. Oh, you unloaded the Blood Flower Beer as well, didn't you?"

"Yes, Sister Chunni, I also unloaded that. Just two more pallets of goods left," Mu Rufeng said.

"Is that so? Okay, go unload, and I'll finish counting these. Once you're done unloading, we can receive the goods right away," Sister Chunni said.

"Okay, thank you, Sister Chunni."

"Hey, what's there to thank me for? Just go on."

Watching the two happily chatting, An Lu felt nothing but rage consuming him.

As he passed by them, he snorted to express his dissatisfaction.

Just as the goods had been received, an employee came out from inside the warehouse.

The employee, driving a forklift, took away a pallet of Scarlet Eyeball and headed deeper into the warehouse.

Then came out another, also taking away a pallet of Scarlet Eyeball.

Seeing this, An Lu quickly placed his goods in the now empty spot.

Mu Rufeng didn't go looking for any more trouble with An Lu and instead unloaded the remaining Blood Flower Beer from the truck.

Holding the delivery invoice given by the driver, the second truckload of goods was also unloaded by Mu Rufeng.

"Sign here," said Sister Chunni, handing the phone to Mu Rufeng.

Mu Rufeng took the phone, signed his name, and after having his photo taken again, the Blood Flower Beer was also received.

"Sister Chunni, roughly how many truckloads of goods come in a day?" Mu Rufeng asked.

"These few days our company is running a promotion, so there might be more," Chunni answered.

"In the morning, maybe four or five trucks at most, and in the afternoon a bit more, around seven or eight."

"But you don't need to worry. We clock off at six, regardless of whether there's any cargo left, you won't need to unload it."

"After the promotion ends tomorrow, there will be fewer trucks. Now it's almost noon, you can take a break on the platform," Sister Chunni said.

"Okay, Sister Chunni," Mu Rufeng said, nodding with a smile.

...

Time flew, and it was noon at twelve o'clock.

Ring ring ring—

A piercing bell rang through the Logistics Park.

As the bell rang, all the employees working at the same time dropped what they were doing and, as if on cue, headed in the same direction.

Mu Rufeng had just stood up from the ground when he saw An Lu jump down from the platform and head straight for the canteen.

Following suit, Mu Rufeng also quickly got to his feet and followed behind An Lu.

Speaking of which, when he had come in, it had been right after dinner, so he hadn't been left hungry.

Now that it was twelve o'clock, Mu Rufeng's stomach was growling with hunger.

The trip took no more than four or five minutes before he saw the familiar canteen.

"Familiar" yet also "strange," as this canteen was too eerie and had a certain darkness about it.

Mu Rufeng followed the crowd into the canteen.

The layout of the canteen was very different from the one he knew in the real world.

There were many tables and chairs and many employees, but only three windows serving food.

This caused long lines at all three windows.

Mu Rufeng didn't join the queue. Instead, he went straight to the window.

As expected, when Mu Rufeng saw the food for sale, he was stunned.

There were not many dishes, only five, each served in huge aluminum basins.

Just the names of the dishes made Mu Rufeng's scalp tingle.

He had no reason to believe that these names were fake.

So, where did these ingredients come from?

Mu Rufeng, smelling the bloody scent wafting from the basins, swallowed instinctively.

"Damn it, I'm not a real zombie. I don't drink blood," Mu Rufeng forcibly suppressed the thoughts in his mind.

"Kid, these dishes all taste pretty good. You look pretty sturdy. I bet you taste not too shabby either," said a worker beside him in a sinister tone.

Clearly, he had recognized that Mu Rufeng was human.

"I heard the company recruited employees from the Human World. Is this the third or fourth one?"

"This is the fourth one. I ate one of them, and the flavor was incredible, far fresher than what you get here in the canteen," said an exceptionally tall man, licking his lips.
