Chapter 25 - Chapter 9 Death Hide and Seek_4

They quickly entered the bathroom on the second floor, which was very luxurious, complete with a large bathtub, and the two of them immediately started to wash up.

Since there were no clothes, they simply took a bath and then went to the closet in the next room, where they found some clothes.

Su Lei changed into a set of silk casual wear and put on a pair of sneakers, delightedly saying, "This place is really well prepared, there's everything in the room."

"Look at how big this wardrobe is, and how many clothes there are, we could even hide inside it."

Gao Xin also changed into a similar set of clothes, which were of very good material. Even if the size wasn't a perfect fit, they were still comfortable.

He said, "Hiding in the wardrobe is asking for death, isn't it?"

"This isn't your ordinary game of hide and seek; the price of being found is death!"

Su Lei nodded, realizing that if they were to rely on playing hide and seek, they had to find an extremely clever hiding place.

"Hmm? Look, Gao Xin, there's someone outside."

Su Lei pointed out the window, and Gao Xin saw that not everyone had entered the mansion in his front yard; one person had not entered after a long time.

The person sneaked past the view of the main gate and slipped into a bush next to the gate, just a wall away from the Radiations outside.

It was true that one wouldn't notice a person was hidden there just by looking at it.

"Wow, that person is actually hiding right at the front door!" Su Lei's eyes widened.

Gao Xin's expression was strange, "Are they counting on the old cat to head straight for the mansion and not thoroughly search the entrance?"

Su Lei clapped his hands, "Indeed, that's possible, the area might be overlooked."

"The old cat will definitely search the more complex areas first, from the first floor to the fourth floor, and only when he can't find anyone inside the mansion will he consider the area around the gate."

"It can be said that as long as you survive the first wave, you can be safe for a long time."

"The old cat's search time totals only one hundred minutes, twenty mice, on average, he only has five minutes to find each mouse."

Gao Xin grinned, "Can't calculate it like that; the old cat might kill several mice in a short period of time."

Su Lei hummed in agreement, "I know, but this person is betting that the old cat will ignore the gate for a long time and that the other mice will buy him a lot of time."

"Plus, he's closest to the gate, so he can bolt out the moment time's up."

"Hunting the mice is only allowed within a set area, that is, within the yard walls. Once outside, the old cat can't kill him without a redemption ticket."

"He might even be able to dash straight to the elevator and then escape..."

Gao Xin shook his head, "That's gambling with your life."

"Eh? I can't believe it, Gao Xin, look at the staircase in the lobby on the first floor, it can actually be lifted! Could it be we've found a tunnel?" Su Lei suddenly exclaimed.

Gao Xin turned around and saw that in the lobby on the first floor, everyone was still frantically searching for the so-called hidden areas.

One of the veteran Crystal Balls was feeling around, tapping on the staircase when he seemed to find something odd about one of the steps.

He lifted the carpet and searched carefully, finding a lever, and then he actually pried open the marble slab of the step.

Inside was indeed empty, which attracted a crowd of onlookers.

Unfortunately, it wasn't some secret passage; it looked more like a narrow coffin, able to fit only one person!

Some people were overjoyed and even began to fight over this spot.

After some discussion, a veteran was allowed to enter, and the people next to him helped close the marble slab and restored it neatly, covering it back with the carpet.

From the outside, nothing seemed amiss; it looked like just another ordinary step.

Unless one saw it with their own eyes, the old cat would never guess that a person could be hidden inside a staircase step.

"This step has been designed on purpose, to provide a hiding place for the mice. Did you notice inside the slab? There's also a Crystal Ball," said Gao Xin.

Su Lei remarked, "It's too concealed, who could find that!"

"Indeed, there are many good hiding spots in this mansion, and if everyone could hide in spots of this level, then the old cat probably wouldn't find many mice."

Gao Xin frowned slightly, "Two hours... he might suffocate in there."

"Uh..." Su Lei was taken aback, "Really?"

Gao Xin shook his head, "I'm not sure, but I feel like it's so cramped inside there, and with the stone slab so tightly sealed, there might not be enough air."

Su Lei's mouth twitched, "Well, that's just too cruel."
