Chapter 43 - Unable to Satisfy Lord Void Miasma

"Damn it, who is this guy? How could he make such a huge crater with one punch? Could he be a vampire like Lord Dio?"

Inside the Void Miasma, Vanilla's left arm and leg were broken. He gritted his teeth, his gaze filled with hatred toward Zuke, as he struggled to comprehend and fear the immense strength Zuke displayed when he punched a massive crater into the ground.

To him, ordinary people shouldn't have such power. He saw it clearly: Zuke only summoned his Stand while attacking, meaning that the crater was created by Zuke's own strength.

Only a vampire like Dio could possess such superhuman physical strength. But even for his revered Lord Dio... honestly, Vanilla wasn't entirely confident Dio could match that level of power.

His rational mind told him that even as a vampire, Dio wouldn't be able to create such a crater with one punch. However, his admiration for Dio prevented him from doubting his lord's power.

"No matter what he is, he's destroyed this body that lives solely for Lord Dio! I'll erase him completely!"

He quickly brushed aside these thoughts, replaced by deep-seated anger—he roared, controlling the Void Miasma as it spiraled toward Zuke.

True, hiding within the Void Miasma's mouth prevented him from observing the outside world with his own eyes, making it difficult to accurately gauge his opponent's position or land a decisive attack.

But as long as he carved a large circle in space by spiraling inwards like a mosquito coil, he would trap his opponent within his space deletion.

It was as if he had constructed a circular wall of space deletion, continuously compressing this wall inward, making it impossible for anyone trapped within to escape.

"Seems like he's really been pushed into a corner, attacking me this way so quickly."

Standing in the crater, Zuke quickly noticed that the surrounding space was frenetically spiraling inwards, deleting massive sections of cement and other objects, which vanished into a different dimension.

Nearby, a fire hydrant was half-deleted, sending a spray of water shooting out; part of a phone booth had been erased, revealing its inner mechanisms; and trees by the street were cut in half, collapsing to the ground.

Vanilla clearly didn't care if ordinary people noticed the devastation left in his wake—after all, he had already slaughtered everyone in the hotel, showing his total disregard for human life.

In the original story, Polnareff, one of the main protagonists, struggled to find a way to counter this technique. But Zuke was different; he knew how to break free from this spiraling space deletion.

His physical strength far surpassed Polnareff's, and, unlike Polnareff, whose foot was half-deleted in the original, Zuke was unscathed. With a powerful leap, he could reach a height where Vanilla's deletion wouldn't touch him.

Vanilla likely anticipated this, however—he had surely realized that Zuke possessed enormous strength and could leap very high, so he might have prepared to prevent an airborne escape.

"Space deletion really is a troublesome ability."

Zuke narrowed his eyes as he observed the spherical deletion zone drawing spirals in the air, steadily approaching him. He then looked down at his feet.

Beside him lay a severed arm and leg from Void Miasma—normally, these Stand parts would be meaningless to Zuke, since a Stand is merely a manifestation of mental energy and lacks physical substance.

But Zuke felt something faintly intuitive. He looked at his companion, the Blackbird, who seemed to respond to his thoughts, bending down to pick up the severed arm and leg and…

…placing them into its own pitch-black body.

"Disappear, Zuke!"

Buzz!

The next moment, the spherical space deletion reached Zuke's position, erasing a ball-shaped pit from where he stood—a hole even slightly larger than the surrounding deleted area.

Perhaps Vanilla's hatred toward Zuke had caused the deletion field to grow slightly larger as it wiped out his location.

"Is he gone? Has he been completely deleted by Void Miasma?"

The figure of Void Miasma reappeared as the space deletion ended, though it looked more battered now, missing an arm and a leg that it had consumed within its mouth.

Vanilla panted heavily, looking around from the mouth of Void Miasma—front, left, right, back, even above and below—but found nothing.

It seemed Zuke had truly been erased, leaving not a trace… but Vanilla knew that his last attack had hit nothing at all!

The essence of Void Miasma's deletion is to consume space with its mouth—meaning that the deletion is, in fact, a process of eating. Vanilla could clearly tell if his Stand had actually bitten anything.

Soon, however, he noticed something black lingering in a spot where his spiral deletion had previously passed.

Remaining curled inside Void Miasma's mouth, Vanilla floated over and saw what it was.

It was a black, humanoid figure, reduced to only the lower half of its body—a sight that Vanilla recognized. Zuke's Stand, the Blackbird, was an all-black humanoid Stand!

"So that's it… when I was spiraling toward him, he was already cut in half?"

Seeing this, Vanilla felt a wave of relief. With Zuke's Stand severed in two, Zuke's fate was as good as sealed.

Though his final bite had hit nothing, that was likely because Zuke's upper body had already been deleted earlier.

Injury to a Stand synchronizes with the user's own body. His Void Miasma had been smashed, costing him an arm and a leg, and he still felt the lingering pain.

"Hmph… damn Zuke. Although I couldn't kill him in his most miserable state, his strength was indeed formidable, so perhaps this outcome is for the best."

Vanilla poked his head out once more. He seemed so sure of Zuke's demise that this time he extended his entire neck out of Void Miasma's mouth.

It looked as if he was approaching that half of a black figure, wanting to get a good look at the defeated form of Zuke's Stand.

Even though he didn't know where Zuke's body had been flung, seeing his Stand's gruesome state was satisfying enough for him.
