Chapter 100 - This Is the True Kaioken

Zuke's single statement immediately dispelled all of King Kai's doubts about his identity.

The main reason was the cube spaceship that regular people couldn't possibly get their hands on, which solidified Zuke's identity in King Kai's eyes, leaving him with no alternative explanations.

Stealing that cube spaceship from Zuno certainly brought unexpected benefits for Zuke.

As for whether King Kai would secretly ask Beerus or Whis… that was even more impossible.

Although the God of Destruction is one of the highest-ranking gods in the universe, their reputation isn't exactly good.

Some Gods of Destruction take their jobs seriously, calculating the impact on surrounding areas before destroying certain planets.

But some destroy purely on a whim; as long as they meet their destruction quota, they don't care about the consequences.

Unfortunately, Beerus, the God of Destruction in Universe 7, is one of the latter.

Even though he's also a god, King Kai would rather not disturb Beerus. If he annoyed him and spoiled his mood, King Kai might end up dead.

The only ones who can act without fear before the God of Destruction are probably the Supreme Kais because if a Supreme Kai dies, the God of Destruction dies too.

But even the Supreme Kais aren't completely safe, because if they push a God of Destruction too far, they could end up sealed away.

"Ah, so this is Kaioken…"

With King Kai's thorough guidance, Zuke quickly understood the principles behind Kaioken and could use it at a basic level.

Of course, he could only use it at a basic level — as soon as Kaioken slightly boosted his power, it immediately fell apart.

"Kaioken requires some time for adaptation. Ideally, you should stay on King Kai's planet from now on, and I'll teach you how to adjust the Kaioken boost properly."

Now in teaching mode, King Kai had shed his usual humorous, cautious expression and turned serious.

"Kaioken puts a heavy burden on the body. As you get stronger, you'll be able to handle higher Kaioken multipliers, but there will always be a limit."

"What's the highest multiplier Kaioken can reach?"

Feeling the power coursing through him, Zuke asked curiously.

"That's unknown; it depends on the person's constitution. For some, their power and body grow almost in sync, so even a double Kaioken might be hard to bear."

King Kai shook his head.

"But for others whose bodies haven't fully harnessed their power, they can handle higher multipliers."

Zuke nodded, then asked another question out of curiosity.

"Oh, King Kai, if someone already has a transformation ability, can they still use Kaioken after transforming?"

This was a common question Zuke had before his transmigration — can you stack Kaioken on top of Super Saiyan?

One of Zuke's goals is to become a Super Saiyan, but he's also curious if he could stack Kaioken after achieving that form.

"Hmm… Hard to say. It's definitely possible, but it would likely cause the body to break down, which would be counterproductive."

King Kai furrowed his brows and thought it over.

"If you forcefully boost your power without regard for your body, the result is that your energy will damage your body and leak out. Initially, you might experience a brief power surge, but eventually, you'll weaken."

At this, Zuke understood — it's exactly like Goku's experience in the Tournament of Power.

In the manga version, when facing Jiren, who couldn't be matched with strength alone, Goku tried to further boost his power as Super Saiyan Blue.

At the time, Whis mentioned that it was similar to Kaioken, meaning Goku used a method like Kaioken while in Super Saiyan Blue form.

But Jiren criticized it as "recklessly boosting power at the cost of the body," calling it a mistake.

King Kai's assessment was surprisingly similar to Jiren's. It seems Kaioken indeed has strict bodily limits.

Still, King Kai suggested that Zuke should stay on King Kai's planet for an extended period...

"Staying on King Kai's planet indefinitely might not work, but I could train here for about eight hours a day."

Zuke said to King Kai.

"If possible, we could even train inside the cube spaceship — it's been modified into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Training there for a year would only take a day outside."

"Oh? The Hyperbolic Time Chamber? You managed to get that too? That's quite the rare item."

King Kai adjusted his small black glasses, a bit surprised. As a Kai, he certainly knew about the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

Hearing that Zuke added the chamber's effects to the cube spaceship only strengthened his belief that Zuke had close ties with angels.

Who else would dare modify an angel's spaceship?

"But that won't work. Training in Kaioken or the Spirit Bomb requires being in nature; training is only effective in an environment with vegetation."

King Kai pointed to the grass below and the trees in the distance.

"These things on my planet aren't just for decoration; they're crucial for practicing certain techniques."

Zuke understood — Kaioken aside, the Spirit Bomb clearly required a connection with nature to be effective.

Trying to learn the Spirit Bomb in a sealed-off space without any life forms would be almost impossible.

"Well, I get it. Since you're associated with Lord Beerus, I suppose you have other responsibilities too."

King Kai nodded, understanding Zuke's eight-hour-a-day plan, even looking at him with a hint of sympathy.

"Working for Lord Beerus must be exhausting, huh?"

In his mind, Zuke was likely an assistant to the God of Destruction, taking care of matters while Beerus slept.

Though Zuke's strength didn't seem impressive, perhaps that's precisely why he came to seek King Kai's help.

The idea of aiding Beerus's helper in gaining strength made King Kai feel a bit proud.

"Heh… You could say that."

Zuke responded with a half-smile, unconcerned about continuing to use Beerus and Whis's names since Beerus wouldn't wake for decades.

"Alright, let's call it a day for now. I'll return tomorrow for another eight hours."

Seeing that he'd almost used up his time in the Dragon Ball world for the day, Zuke nodded at King Kai.

But knowing he had other worlds to attend to, Zuke added, "Though there may be occasional days when I can't make it, so don't wait around."

"I understand, no worries."

King Kai nodded repeatedly, wearing an expression that seemed to say, "I totally get it."

Under King Kai's gaze, Zuke's figure suddenly disappeared, leaving no trace behind.

"...He's gone without a trace. How did he leave? Instant Transmission? It didn't seem like that either."

King Kai was momentarily stunned by Zuke's abrupt departure, even leaving the cube spaceship on his planet.

Still, King Kai didn't dare touch it. Zuke might be daring, but King Kai, as a god, had far more fear of Beerus and the angels than Zuke did.
