Chapter 94 - Immortality

"Takaraputo, Poporunga, Pupirito Paro."

In the clearing outside the Great Elder's house, Nail looked at the seven Dragon Balls on the ground and slowly recited the incantation to summon the Namekian dragon.

Zuke couldn't understand Namekian, but he was familiar with this chant. It wasn't something he remembered from the anime in his previous life, as he'd forgotten most details like this long ago.

He had actually just learned it from Zuno as a precaution. He wanted to ensure that if he acquired the Namekian Dragon Balls by some means, he wouldn't be unable to summon the dragon just because he didn't know Namekian.

He even had Zuno recite "My first wish is to learn Namekian" in Namekian and recorded the pronunciation. This way, even if he had no help, he could use his first wish to learn Namekian, ensuring he could make the remaining two wishes on his own.

But since Nail was assisting him now, this wish was unnecessary.

In the next moment, the sky darkened as if something had obscured the sun. Then, the seven Dragon Balls burst forth with a golden glow. The light shot straight up into the sky, piercing through the darkness and slowly transforming into a massive green dragon with a fierce appearance and two arms.

Honestly, compared to Earth's Shenron, Namek's dragon "Porunga" was rather ugly, though its wish-granting abilities were undoubtedly real.

"One who has gathered the seven Dragon Balls, speak your wish."

The dragon's voice echoed through the air, deep and beast-like.

"Any wish is possible. I will grant you three wishes."

Although only Namekian could be used when making wishes, the dragon used the universal language to speak.

Namekian Shenron—fascinating, isn't it?

"This is the Namekian dragon—Porunga, which means 'god of dreams' in Namekian," Nail explained, glancing at Zuke.

"If you have a wish, tell me, and I'll make it for you. Wishes must be spoken in Namekian."

"Of course."

After taking a moment to appreciate the rather unflattering Namekian dragon, Zuke shared his first wish with Nail.

"Grant me immortality."

Nail was momentarily taken aback. He hadn't expected Zuke's first wish to be so straightforward and unrestrained.

He wasn't quite sure about the past of Namekians before their homeworld was destroyed, but current Namekians were peaceful and altruistic by nature. This was the first time Nail had encountered someone who pursued personal needs so directly.

How did the Great Elder end up treating such a person as a guest?

Despite his internal confusion and urge to comment, Nail dutifully conveyed Zuke's wish to the dragon in Namekian as per the Great Elder's request.

"Grant this man immortality? I understa—"

Although wishes had to be made in Namekian, further discussion could take place in the universal language.

Just as Porunga was about to say "I understand," Zuke interrupted:

"Wait. Before you proceed, let me ask: will this immortality withstand the destructive power of a God of Destruction?"

At Zuke's words, both Nail and Porunga fell silent.

Nail was unfamiliar with what a God of Destruction was, but Porunga's expression turned somewhat complicated.

"A God of Destruction… Unfortunately, while I can grant you immortality with regenerative powers so that even a fragment of your being can revive you, a God of Destruction can erase you entirely, meaning you would indeed perish."

As a dragon, Porunga was aware of the existence of Gods of Destruction, and though Zuke felt a bit disappointed by the response, it was still within his expectations.

After all, the Namekian Dragon Balls were merely fragments of the Super Dragon Balls and could not grant an indestructible immortality like the Super Shenron's.

Zamasu's immortality, granted by Super Shenron, had even received "official recognition" from the God of Destruction Beerus, who stated that he couldn't destroy Zamasu's immortal body.

But Super Shenron could restore entire universes destroyed by the Omni-King, so its powers clearly exceeded those of a God of Destruction, making an indestructible form of immortality feasible.

Even though it wouldn't protect him from a God of Destruction's "destruction," this level of immortality was already close to Majin Buu's, so Zuke was satisfied.

"If there are no further questions, I will grant your first wish."

Porunga gazed at Zuke, and in the next instant, Zuke felt a special power flooding his body, quickly permeating his entire being.

"Your first wish is granted. Speak your next two wishes."

Zuke didn't respond immediately. He swiftly summoned his Blackbird and had it slash his left index finger.

Slash!

A sharp sound echoed as the Blackbird's fist, imbued with Kiryu's Stand ability, transformed into a blade and sliced off Zuke's finger.

The next moment, he watched as his finger rapidly regenerated, leaving no sign of injury.

"…That's ruthless."

Even the typically composed Nail couldn't help but be taken aback at Zuke's self-inflicted finger amputation to test his immortality.

Though he hadn't seen how Zuke cut off his finger, to sever it without hesitation in testing his immortality was intense.

Still, if Porunga hadn't explicitly stated that "immortality" meant regenerating "even from a scrap of flesh," Zuke might have hesitated to take such a risk.

After all, without a clear explanation, who could say if this "immortality" included automatic healing?

"Excellent."

Satisfied, Zuke nodded. Aside from not being immune to a God of Destruction's power, this immortality seemed comparable to Zamasu's.

It would suffice; he wasn't planning to challenge a God of Destruction now anyway. His goal was simply to defeat Frieza.

"My second wish is to remove the time limit on my time-stop ability."

Zuke shared his second wish with Nail.

Since the Blackbird had absorbed Dio's Stand, The World, its time-stopping ability also came with The World's limitations.

Currently, he could only stop time for five seconds, even less than the nine seconds Dio achieved after absorbing Joseph's blood.

While five seconds was plenty for combat, Zuke wasn't satisfied. If he could stop time indefinitely, wouldn't that be ideal?

So now he would test if the Namekian dragon could extend his time-stop ability…

To be continued…

Zuke and Rin decide to hunt.
