Normally, Luan would come home and hear the worried voice of his mom whenever she was talking about him or the savage and fierce voice she used to talk to her husband whenever he talked about hunting in the forest at his age.
But today was different. When he entered the compound, he saw the floor and frowned. The floor wasn't swept, and his mother never left the floor without sweeping it, no matter the circumstance.
Maybe she's really sick… Luan thought as he dumped the sack of meat on the floor and ran inside the four-room hut. He flung the wooden door open, not caring about the manners he had been taught, and ran inside.
He didn't spot anyone in the first two rooms, and he reached third within seconds. Thankfully, he heard the sound of breathing.
Thank goodness. The two of them seem to be perfectly fine based on their breathing… I wonder what the two of them are doing in the room… alone… cough! Luan snickered to himself and gingerly opened the door.
"Mom! Guess what I brought home tod—"
Luan's words were promptly cut short as his stomach was pierced by a sharp object, followed by the sensation of his head being hit by a blunt object. The world blurred for a moment as he felt the sharp object dig in even deeper into his stomach as crimson blood spilled on the floor.
Luan didn't even think clearly before suddenly jumping backwards. The moment he did so, he felt the wind in front of his face. If he hadn't jumped backwards, his head would've been smashed in!
What the hell is going on?!?! He groaned as he staggered out, only to be hit on his back, causing him to fall face-first into the ground as the sharp object penetrated his stomach even more.
Luan groaned as a wave of immeasurable pain hit him. He didn't bother trying to stand up, since that would only cause his abdominal muscles to move even more, causing him even greater pain. Apart from the faint beating of his heart, he looked like the victim of a gruesome murder as his blood pooled beneath him.
Who the hell stabbed me?! What happened to my pa—
"He's still breathing," a female voice spoke, causing lightning bolts to explode inside Luan's head as his mind turned blank.
The female voice… was his mother's!
"Get his heart," a male voice replied. "That's the weak point of most humans… and this one doesn't even have any trace of mana."
The male voice… was his father's voice.
That was the last thing he heard as his heart was pierced through by another sharp object.
So… it all ends like this, dying by the hands of those who birthed me… how fitting… He always knew that he would die, but he hadn't expected to die so soon…
The sharp object was driven through his heart, causing his already blurry vision to rapidly darken from the pain. The object was removed from its position, tearing his heart further and causing a crimson fountain to spill from his chest.
His vision went dark.
Blood spurted as another head was forcibly separated from its body, dragging the spine along. The young man—now headless—fell to the ground as the figure responsible for his death chomped on the whole head before smashing a young girl who looked to be around Luan's age into a bloody pulp with his blood-red arms.
In another house, a child wearing a blank expression came outside her compound with a bloody knife in her hands. Tracing the trail of blood he left behind, two gory corpses with their eyes gouged out and their viscera was scattered across the brown floor.
If one looked even closer, one would realise that the two corpses had two distinct differences.
One was male, and the other was female.
They were the boy's parents!
Still with an utterly blank look on his face, the boy plunges his knife into the side of a well grown woman, who promptly beheads him with a swing from a bloody sword. The woman turned around only to be met by the downward swing of a spiked club, shattering her skull and spilling brain matter everywhere.
As the woman's body slowly fell, a rapier pierced through the eye of the warrior with the spiked club. Ignoring the rapier, the warrior swatted the body of the slender man to the side with his spiked club, then he proceeded to continue his smashing rampage in the village, still with the rapier stuck in his eye.
Two three-year-olds were in the way, so the warrior simply brought down his club with an abominable force that no normal human should have been able to wield, the children were reduced to nothing more than gory splatters on the floor.
Two red arms tore through the body of a young girl who looked to be around ten years old before clasping a kitchen knife and the wooden handle of a farming hoe.
The hands crushed the weapons, then crushed the heads of the two wielders.
His eyes were lifeless and hollow, same as all the villagers that were butchering each other.
In the village, there was a particular eye-catching building. Its uniqueness was due to the fact that it had an extra storey, compared to the bungalows present in the village.
Inside this building, was a man seen sitting on an armchair with a metallic cane with crude engravings by his side. A heavy sigh escaped from his mouth as he stood up from his chair and walked out of his residence, looking in the direction of the clinic.
Inside the clinic, an ominous cackle escaped the head nurse's mouth as she watched two grass dolls bearing striking similarities to the warrior with the spiky club and the man with red hands duke it out with each other amongst the scattered blades of grass that were once glass dolls.
Her cackle became louder as she spotted one grass doll make its move as it stood up and walked slowly, then totally hysterical when two other figures emerged from a direction isolated from the other dolls—Luan's home.
"Finally, it's almost complete! The ritual for Puppeteer of Profanity has almost been completed. All I need to do now is to eliminate the remaining three…maybe use them if they prove strong enough."
She glanced at the dolls one more time before smirking to herself.
"Let the final act begin."
