Chapter 10 - 10. Savion

Savion's POV

"What?" Mum and I exclaimed at the same time, glancing from the maid to each other..

Mum stuttered, "Your father is still training, he can't just barge in on us like that. That's rude….and…and…the guest aren't even here yet. I…"

"Mum" I stopped her ranting, placing my hand on her shoulder in comfort, "It's going to be okay. Dad got this, I'm sure."

"Oh savion!" The wall mum had to stay strong suddenly crumbled and she hugged me into her arms, her head reaching to lay on my chest.

I consoled her by returning the hug, patting her back, "Go get Angie ready, I'll go see soon."

My heart was beating fast against it's rib cage but I managed a calm demeanor, part of being a prince was learning how to stay calm.

Without a change of cloths, I ran out of the castle to the training ground where the fight would take place, the preparations haven't even been set. As I entered the training ground, the wolves parted making a way for me, they bowed as I walked through them.

I stood in front of the crowd, the entire wolf pack, father was already there and facing him was Daniel Bryson.

Dad was still in joggers and T-shirt, the same ones he wore yesterday, with the wrinkles drawing over his face and the dark bags under his eyes, his red eyeballs, it seems he didn't sleep through out the night.

Daniel Bryson stood head on with the king, snarling. Something seems strange about him, the scars running through his body was glowing, green as I looked closely. Why was he glowing?. I had no answer to that question.

I interrupted whatever words father and Daniel were throwing at each other as I spoke, "The fight is meant to start at mid afternoon and the time shall not be shifted on your behalf."

Daniel turned his attention to me, "Well well well if it isn't the prince who's this in nappies."

I felt my fist clench beside me, I'd love to throw a punch at this rouge freak.

"Well rouge, I don't know where you've come from but as civilized wolves we take to time" I said in my stiffest voice.

"I'm not a rogue!" Daniel Bryson snarled storming to my front, all the wolves behind me coward back but I stood solidly.

Daniel Bryan looked me directly in the eye, standing face to face with me his green eyes were darkened with anger as he spoke, "7 years ago, your father attacked my pack. He killed my family, he killed every last one of them in cold blood!" He admitted.

I blinked back, I wasn't expecting that sort of confession from him. I glanced at my dad and he looked down at his feet unable to defend himself, which means it was true?.

"He murdered my mother and her unborn child" he pointed to my father, "he killed my father. Out of power, and need to expand his territory he and his army killed my pack and took over our lands. He made me homeless" he was breathing heavily, his nose flared heavily.

I remember now, seven years ago father had wanted a small neighbouring pack to merge with ours. They were small but they thrived with farming and agriculture, they had wonderful lands. It would be nice of those lands belong to our pack, we would become stronger and richer if we sold food products.

The king of that pack disagreed completely, he refused to step down as alpha to become a normal wolf under my father. He wasn't a royal Alpha so my father took him down.

"But out of my kindness I won't do the same to him, I'm just here to take his throne" Daniel Bryson finished.

"I'm…" I stuttered, "I'm sorry to hear that. We must have caused you great grief."

His face remained hard, "Your sorryness can't do nothing nappy prince but his death will" I glanced back, "Are we doing this or not?."

My father stared at me with worry and angst, he mouthed "I'm sorry son."

"Dad!" I said as my jaw tightened and my body shuddered, "I will fight on behalf of my father!" I announced.

"No!" Father yelled, "this is my battle. I made a mistake years ago and I will face the consequences alone. Let the duel begin!."

That was it!. That was it!. Dad took his spot at the side of the field while Daniel did the same.

Gamma Tobias went to the middle of the training ground to announce the rules, "Each opponent will fight in strictly wolf form, there shall be no interference from anyone. The battle only ends when…" he paused, "one of the opponents die."

My heart weigh down heavily, Daniel was going to win. I stayed on the sidelines waiting for the bell to sound and the duel to begin.

"What a tough fight to watch uhn?."

I glanced up, ready to punch whomever messed with me at this moment only to stare into the black eyes of King Alpha Phoenix.

"Alpha Phoenix!" I bowed my head in submission. His wolf growled in his chest and I looked up again.

Alpha Phoenix was the greatest king Alpha of werewolves, he ruled the entire wolf race. Every Royal pack and non Royal pack report to him alike. He ruled over the werewolves. My father was his cousin.

"I almost couldn't make it. Your uhn.. your uncle died."

"What?" Can this day get any worse.

"Oh yes it can" I forgot he could read my mind, "Syaire has been suspected to have killed him."

"What?. Syaire would never murder his own father" I couldn't keep my voice down so I yelled. Coupled with my fear for my father and this strange news, my emotions couldn't be controlled.

"Watch your tongue son" he said firmly, his wolf demanding respect, I bowed my head in submission again, "we'll find out if it's true or not as soon as Syaire wakes up."

The sound of the bell ringing brought my head back to scene in front of me, father and Daniel began to fight.
