"Awesome!" Robin blurted out, feeling a surge of excitement as he realized he could now harness even more life energy.
"Malsa! Retrieve the seed from storage immediately," he commanded.
In a flash, the seed appeared in his hand. He examined it—it looked like a walnut, only the size of his thumb, smooth and deceptively simple. He frowned. "Swallowing this would be… painful. Or worse, I might choke on it," he muttered. With a sigh, he tried crushing it, but the seed was surprisingly tough, resisting even his full strength.
"Master! Use Gluttony to absorb its energy directly. It's far more efficient, and your body would take too long to break it down otherwise," Malsa advised.
Robin hesitated, then nodded. "Gluttony," he whispered. At once, a dark, spectral hand formed from his palm, with a gaping mouth in its center. The hand closed over the seed and, with a ravenous gulp, devoured it whole.

New Skill: Appraisal

"Master, you've gained a new skill," Malsa explained eagerly. "You'll now be able to view the stats of those around you based on their nature. For humans, you can see their physical and mana levels. For monsters, their ranks will appear as low, mid, or high. Supreme beings, however, require a further upgrade of your skill by increasing your life energy level. For living things or objects, like trees, you'll only be able to see their energy level. This skill will only reveal the energy levels of humans and monsters who can sense energy themselves."
"Open Stats!" Robin said excitedly, immediately checking his own stats to see if his level had improved.

Robin's life energy had finally broken through to level 4. He was now confident he could wield dark energy in battle without any complications. Healing Magic had improved by only 15%, leaving him puzzled over why it was so difficult to increase his proficiency in both Healing Magic and Gluttony. Spatial Storage had seen little progress too, mostly because he barely understood how it functioned. He rarely used it, finding it largely unhelpful.
Thanks to his diligent practice of Natural Magic, his mana proficiency had soared. He knew that reaching the rank of Arch Mage required mastery of Magic Circle 5—a feat so challenging that few ever achieved it. This made him realize just how much progress he had made, and how far he still had to go.
Boom! Boom! The entire kingdom trembled, shaking with a force Robin hadn't expected. The battle had grown fiercer than anyone had anticipated, and even with his experience fighting monsters, this horde was something else entirely.
"Master… what happened…" Aria's voice was soft as she sat up in bed, her eyes hazy with weakness. The first person she saw was Robin, who rose from his corner and quickly moved to her side.
"I'll explain everything later, but for now, please rest," he said gently, placing his hands on her cheeks. He released a wave of healing magic, warm and comforting, that eased her weariness. Aria's eyes fluttered closed as she drifted back into a deep, peaceful sleep.
Robin opened the balcony door, letting the cool night air fill his lungs. The unmistakable sounds of battle reached him—clashing steel, monstrous roars, and the defiant shouts of soldiers.
"For the kingdom! Don't give up, everyone!" The soldiers' voices rang out, fierce and unyielding as they fought the relentless horde. Robin's gaze hardened as he took in the scene. This chaos, he knew, was partly a result of his own pursuit of power, and a pang of guilt surfaced. Yet, a thrill ran through him. This time, he wouldn't have to hold back—he could fight with everything he had.
With a leap, he bounded across rooftops, heading toward the outer edge of the capital. The soldiers had already evacuated the citizens to the heart of the kingdom, safe behind the towering defensive walls that marked the kingdom's final stand. From his vantage point atop a building, he looked down on the throngs of men, women, and children, their faces marked by fear and uncertainty.
"Mommy, is Daddy going to be okay?" a small voice asked nearby.
"I don't want to be monster food!" another citizen cried, clinging to a loved one.
"Everyone, calm down! The soldiers will protect us," a nobleman—a viscount—tried to reassure the crowd, his voice straining to be heard above the noise. Just then, another noble, a count, turned his gaze toward Robin, irritation clear in his eyes.
"You up there!" the count shouted. "How dare you look down on us from above! Get down here at once!"
Robin ignored the count's angry demand and leapt toward the wall, landing gracefully beside a group of soldiers. For a moment, they stared at him in surprise, but as soon as they recognized his distinctive hair, one of them stepped forward with a hurried bow.
"Your Highness, please forgive us—we didn't recognize you immediately," the soldier said, voice laced with respect.
Robin barely glanced at the retreating count, who was hurrying away in terror, having realized his blunder. "Weak men," he muttered, dismissing the noble's cowardice.
Turning back to the soldier, Robin asked, "What's the current situation?"
"Your Highness, this kind of horde is incredibly rare," the soldier explained. "The king, General Luke, Peter, and the Duke's family are holding the front lines. The rest of us have been tasked with finishing off any injured monsters that break through."
Robin nodded, understanding the urgency. "Then I'll go assist them," he replied, his tone resolute. Without another word, he leapt from the wall, plunging into the fray beyond.
As Robin neared the battlefield, the thick, metallic scent of blood filled the air, mingling with the earthy aroma of churned soil and crushed leaves. The battleground was alarmingly close to the capital. Seeking a vantage point, he leapt atop one of the tallest trees—and what he saw made his heart skip a beat.
A sea of monsters stretched across the land, their numbers beyond anything he'd ever imagined. In the heart of the fray, his father fought with unmatched ferocity, cutting down monsters left and right. Beside him, Robin's mother commanded immense walking trees, their limbs striking down enemies with each step. To their left, General Luke and Peter slashed through the horde, while the Duke and Mary fought tirelessly nearby, clearly worn but determined. The soldiers battled on, struggling to dispatch even the injured monsters, who proved to be tenacious foes.
Robin's eyes narrowed. "Malsa, is there a way to spread healing magic across the battlefield?"
"Yes," Malsa responded, her voice taking on a warmer, more natural tone. "Go to the center of the battlefield, and I'll handle the rest."
Robin couldn't help but notice the subtle shift in Malsa's tone each time his energy level increased, it seemed less mechanical, as though it were gaining a life of its own. Shaking off the thought, he steeled himself and prepared to dive into the heart of the battle, trusting Malsa's guidance.
Robin jumped towards the battlefield and multiple hands come from his back with a mouth at the center, he seemed as if he going out of control but he actually total control of skill this time 'Gluttony', this hundred of hands jumped on monsters as every time the touched a monster would immediately turn in to ashes and pop up started appearing again:

Robin fought fiercely through the relentless horde, clearing a path until he reached his parents. His father, King Lion, looked up, surprise and worry flashing in his tired eyes. "Robin, what are you doing here?" he shouted over the chaos. Robin glanced at him, noticing the exhaustion etched on his face. Then he looked to his mother, Deria, who was bleeding from her nose and mouth, her strength clearly faltering. A surge of anger and urgency welled up within him.
"Malsa! Activate healing right now!" Robin growled, clenching his fists.
Deria noticed his distress and tried to reassure him. "Robin, it's okay. I'm just a little tired," she said, forcing a weak smile. But Robin's resolve was unwavering.
A brilliant white barrier emanated from him, expanding outward across the battlefield. Any monsters caught in its path were instantly reduced to ash, disintegrating in the holy light. King Lion, Deria, and the rest of the weary fighters felt their vitality return as the barrier washed over them, their injuries healing and strength revitalized. The barrier continued to spread, nearly reaching the capital, infusing every soldier with renewed energy.
Meanwhile, on a distant mountain peak, a huge, menacing werewolf observed the scene with narrowed eyes. Beside him stood a six-foot-tall rat-like creature, bowing nervously. "You!, why didn't you tell me there was a priest of light is here?" the werewolf snarled.
"M-Master, we didn't know... it just appe—" The rat's words were cut short as its head exploded, the werewolf's frustration palpable.
"What a useless tool. Now I've lost the weaklings I've been raising," he growled dismissively, then smirked. "I'll handle that priest myself." With a powerful leap, the werewolf descended from the mountain, leaving his monstrous followers cowering in fear.
"Brotheeer… the rat died like thaaat," a snake-headed servant hissed, looking at the scene with wide eyes.
"Work hard, all of you," the snake-headed servant sneered at the remaining human-like monsters. "Or you'll be ne...xt." The gathered creatures recoiled, fear etched into their twisted faces as they watched their master descend toward the battlefield.
