Chapter 47: The Idea of Forming a Guild
In Su Yu's previous life, a golden health potion that could be brought into reality was exceedingly rare.
The primary reason for this was that bosses in the wild or dungeons would never drop consumables such as health or mana potions. Golden health potions were only available from event bosses like the [Howling Moon Wolf King], or through occasional hidden quests. Their scarcity made them especially valuable.
And the potion's effect in reality was nothing short of remarkable. The [Intermediate Recovery Potion (Gold)] in Su Yu's hand had the ability to fully heal someone from a critical, near-death state. It was a life-saving artifact in the truest sense!
"Just this golden health potion alone makes killing the Wolf King worth it!" Su Yu nodded in satisfaction and carefully placed the golden potion in his system backpack, reserving a special slot for it.
He continued gathering the Wolf King's loot.
After ten minutes of collecting and sorting, Su Yu finished tallying up his spoils from the battle.
The most valuable item was, of course, the golden [Intermediate Recovery Potion].
Next in line were three [Howling Moon Wolf Eggs (Excellent)].
Following that were three high-quality skill scrolls: [Chain Shot], [Bear Transformation], and [Sneak].
Fourth were 10 standard quality skill scrolls, two of which Su Yu could directly use: [Earth Thrust] and [Lightning Shield].
In fifth place were 50 pieces of equipment, including 10 rare blue-grade items and 40 excellent green-grade items.
Additionally, there were 10,000 psionic coins and several dozen low-level potions.
These rewards would have originally been distributed among all players who participated in the Wolf King's defeat. Nearly every player would have walked away with a decent reward.
But now, Su Yu had claimed them all for himself.
As he made his way back to Nolan Village with his oversized, stuffed backpack, Su Yu felt both exhilarated and a little troubled.
On one hand, the joy of single-handedly defeating a boss and hoarding all the loot was beyond satisfying! On the other hand, he wasn't sure what to do with all the equipment and items.
Selling them at his booth? That was certainly an option, but it wouldn't be very beneficial to him.
At this point, Su Yu had plenty of psionic coins, and the profit from selling these items would be insignificant compared to the wealth he already possessed.
Rather than selling everything, perhaps it was better to give away the equipment and build relationships with others.
"Give it away? Wait!"
A thought suddenly struck Su Yu—why not form a guild?
By forming a guild, he could use these precious skill scrolls and pet eggs to attract a group of players. They could run errands for him and become part of his core team.
After all, high-level dungeons couldn't be tackled solo. At least four other players would be needed to absorb damage, attract monster aggro, and assist in battle.
And as a magician, Su Yu would eventually need to construct his own mage tower once he reached a higher level. Although he could hire workers to build it, having a personal team would make the process much more secure and reliable.
The mage tower would be crucial for Su Yu's advancement in the game—whether or not he could ascend to godhood in the later stages would depend on it!
"Alright then, I'll establish a guild once I hit level 10. Instead of selling these items for a small profit, it's better to distribute them to guild members."
With this plan in mind, Su Yu continued his journey back to Nolan Village.
---
There were no banks or storage facilities in Nolan Village, only in the main cities.
Reluctantly, Su Yu decided to store the extra equipment with the old magician in the magic cabin. In return, he purchased a new batch of supplies from the magician.
After leaving the magic hut, Su Yu planned to continue leveling up in Wolf King Valley.
Despite the rich rewards from the [Howling Moon Wolf King], the boss offered very little experience—only 1,000 points. Su Yu's experience bar was now at 13% for level 8, and it looked like he wouldn't reach level 10 until around 7 p.m.
On his way back to Wolf King Valley, Su Yu opened a private chat with Xuehualuo.
Su Yu: "Are you there?"
Xuehualuo: "I'm here."
Su Yu: "I'm planning to form a guild once I reach level 10. Are you interested in joining?"
Xuehualuo was a capable player. In her previous life, she had successfully completed the difficult [Tears of the Goddess of Sawei] quest, proving her abilities. Having her on board would be a huge asset.
Xuehualuo: "Senior, are you thinking of restoring the Yellow Turban Army?"
Su Yu: "… Something like that."
Xuehualuo: "Count me in! Should I bring my dad along too? He's a big fan of Zhao Yun from your era!"
Su Yu: "Sure, the more the merrier. I'm planning to recruit about two or three hundred ordinary members first. Would you be interested in helping me manage the guild? There will be additional rewards for the managers."
To sweeten the deal, Su Yu sent Xuehualuo the stats of the [Sneak] skill scroll and the [Howling Moon Wolf Egg].
He didn't have time to manage the guild himself, so he planned to delegate the task. If Xuehualuo wasn't interested, he'd find someone else.
When Xuehualuo saw the attributes of the [Howling Moon Wolf Egg], she was stunned.
She was well aware of the recent uproar on the forums about the monster siege boss. Players were furious at whoever had stolen the boss kill. Now it seemed that person was likely Su Yu!
Shocked, she asked, "Senior, did you kill the boss during the monster siege?"
"Yes, why?"
"You should check the forums! People are really mad!"
"Is that so?"
Su Yu quickly opened the game's official forum.
Sure enough, dozens of threads were filled with angry players condemning the person who had killed the siege boss early. They were calling the player "shameless," a "thief," and accusing them of "ruining the game for everyone."
Su Yu was both amused and annoyed by the posts.
As if these players could've defeated the [Howling Moon Wolf King] themselves! It was no easy task.
After reading the official post from the game moderators, which included the line, "other novice villages will also trigger monster sieges," Su Yu knew how to handle the situation.
He responded to Xuehualuo: "I'll take care of it."
Xuehualuo: "Need my help? If things get tough, my brother's always available to assist."
Su Yu: "No need. Just wait for my good news."
---
Ten minutes later, Su Yu arrived at Wolf King Valley in Qingfeng Village, the starting area for Novice Village No. 1.
Here, Su Yu began a wild grind.
With his increased movement speed, he rounded up 30 or 40 [Howling Moon Wolves] at a time, freezing them with [Ice Nova], and then unleashing a barrage of abilities. He used [Rain of Fire] scrolls, [Chain Lightning] scrolls, [Ice Cone] scrolls, and his own [Chain Lightning] spell without hesitation, obliterating packs of wolves in mere moments.
An hour later, the players in Novice Village No. 1 received a system announcement:
"Ding! [Howling Moon Wolf King lv10 (rare)] has appeared in Wolf King Valley! All monsters in Qingfeng Village now have +20% to all attributes, with experience and drops increased by 20% for 1 hour."
"In 1 hour, [Howling Moon Wolf King] will lead a pack of wolves to attack the Novice Village. Participating in the defeat of the [Howling Moon Wolf King] will earn massive shared rewards!"
