### Chapter 7: Traitor, Zhan Tian Guild
Su Yu couldn't help but twitch the corner of his mouth at the archer's suggestion.
"I didn't use a plug-in," he explained, keeping a straight face. "A high-level NPC passed by and took care of these wild boars for me."
The five-member team nodded in understanding, except for the archer, who remained skeptical. It made sense; "Evolution" had just launched, and it was unlikely that plug-ins would appear so soon. If it wasn't a plug-in, then it had to be a high-level NPC at work. No one would believe that the corpses of all these wild boars were the result of Su Yu's efforts alone.
Xuehua's eyes sharpened when she noticed the "lv2" label next to Su Yu's name. "You've leveled up! I saw you at level 1 just a moment ago!"
Su Yu shrugged nonchalantly. "That high-level NPC gave me a buff before leaving. I ended up getting almost full experience from just a few wild boar kills."
The five-member team was impressed.
"My God! You're already level 2!"
"We've been grinding wild boars since the server started, and we're only at 85% experience at level 1!"
"Did you get a hidden quest or something?"
The fighter leading the group approached Su Yu, extending a hand. "Hi there! I'm Dong Shanjian, the squad leader of the Zhan Tian Guild. Are you a solo player? Interested in joining our guild? We're the strongest guild in the 'Demon Domain.'"
Hearing the name "Zhan Tian Guild," a flash of hatred flickered in Su Yu's eyes.
The Zhan Tian Guild was a well-known guild from his past life, ranking third in the country. The guild leader, Zhan Tianjian, had a reputation for being powerful and honorable. However, Su Yu knew the truth: Zhan Tianjian had betrayed humanity, aligning with the Skrulls and delivering a devastating blow to Guo Jia when they needed support the most, leading to the loss of millions of lives.
The thought of the Zhan Tian Guild made Su Yu's disdain for the group in front of him palpable, even if it was just a fleeting moment.
"You don't need to invite me," he replied coldly. "I'm just playing the game. I might not even stick around for long."
With that, Su Yu turned and walked away, not looking back.
"Hey—" Xuehualuo reached out to stop him. She had initially come to invite him to team up for leveling. But Vanishing Cream quickly stepped in front of her. "Luoluo, let's not bother this young man. We should head back to the level 2 area."
As a retired army officer, Vanishing Cream sensed the fleeting animosity in Su Yu's demeanor. He didn't know the reason behind it, but he understood that Su Yu must be feeling unsettled.
Dong Shanjian's group looked puzzled as to why Su Yu had suddenly walked off with such a cold expression.
The female priest in the team, annoyed by Su Yu's apparent indifference, scoffed. "What a jerk! Just because you got lucky with a hidden quest to level up doesn't mean you can ignore us!"
"Right? As if we're not worth your time," another teammate added, crossing his arms.
"Who does he think he is? Just some random player!" a third chimed in, feeling insulted.
Even Dong Shanjian felt slighted, his expression darkening.
Vanishing Cream, however, chose to defuse the tension. "Since you're all high-level players from the Zhan Tian Guild, perhaps you could consider allowing my daughter and me to join?"
Dong Shanjian's demeanor shifted at the prospect. He glanced at Xuehualuo and quickly nodded. "Of course! Once we reach the main city at level 10, I'll send you an invitation."
Xuehualuo was undeniably beautiful, and such charm was always in demand in online games. Dong Shanjian wouldn't pass up the opportunity to recruit her.
The five members of Dong Shanjian's team soon shifted their focus, engaging with Vanishing Cream and Xuehualuo as they continued leveling in the wild boar area, laughter filling the air.
In the level 4 monster area, Su Yu found himself alone in the expansive space.
Now that he was level 2, his [Lightning Arrow] could deal nearly 100 damage to a target with zero defense! The level 4 wild monster, [Hillside Sheep], only had 60 HP, and even with defenses and level differences, they couldn't withstand his spell.
His spells rained down:
**78**
**62** (from a [Fireball] scroll)
**80**
**61**
**83**
One by one, the [Hillside Sheep] fell at his feet, just like the [Black Wild Boars] before them.
"Ding! You killed [Hillside Sheep lv4] and gained 4 experience points."
"Ding! You killed [Hillside Sheep lv4], gained 4 experience points, and obtained the material [Goat Meat]."
"Ding! You killed [Hillside Sheep lv4]."
While grinding through these kills, Su Yu's mind drifted, preoccupied with thoughts of the Zhan Tian Guild.
In his previous life, the Zhan Tian Guild had been a formidable force. For example, Zhan Tianjian alone was a powerhouse, far beyond what a hundred Su Yus could challenge.
This time around, should he take action against the Zhan Tian Guild? Perhaps he could find ways to hinder their growth, create enemies for them, or even find a way to remove Zhan Tianjian from the game entirely?
After deep contemplation, Su Yu nodded to himself, resolving not to let the traitor's influence grow unchecked.
But a problem arose: the Zhan Tian Guild was well-respected, having garnered a loyal following from their previous game, "Demon Domain." This backing gave them the support of many ordinary players.
Attacking a seemingly righteous guild would not only tarnish Su Yu's reputation but could also provoke sympathy from the players, making the guild even stronger.
What approach should he take to undermine the Zhan Tian Guild?
Lost in thought, Su Yu continued to strategize.
