Chapter 2

After having an epiphany about where I was and finding out what was going on, I naturally panicked.

I mean, how could I not? Finding out that I'd somehow ended up in the body of a guy I only knew from the screen is one thing, now being in The Walking Dead universe is something else entirely!

And knowing that I've been infected with a damn virus that's going to turn me into a zombie after death is not very pleasant for me.

I was just a very intelligent 17-year-old who was studying Computer Science, worked as a Martial Instructor and had no friends. No family, no girlfriend. No attachment to the old world, except for the things I watched.

TWD being one of them. But that was a long time ago. And I stopped following when Glenn died. I mean, he was my favorite. The guy wasn't all that and he managed to get with someone as beautiful as Maggie.

In my humble opinion, she's the second most beautiful character in the series' universe. Second only to Alicia Clark from the spin-off set in California. Which I only watched until the first half of the third season.

But I'm just rambling in my mind so as not to let panic get the better of me.

Finally, after two hours lying in bed, bemoaning my luck and my fate, I get out of bed, still feeling very weak, and go to the computer.

Seeing that there's still power and the internet is still working, the apocalypse didn't start long ago. 2 days at most. At least hours.

I didn't know what else to look for, to be honest, so I started going through this guy's files.

As well as porn, there were some photos of him with a couple. Maybe his parents? But if so, where are they? Because he'd hit his head and was bleeding on the floor. If they were here, alive, they would have come to see this guy. Since something unusual is happening, they'd want to evacuate the city, just like almost everyone else is.

And to top it off, I found his driver's license. This guy's name is Dean Winchester. Parents John and Mary Winchester. Which is super convenient, since my name is Dean too. No last name. And it's also ironic, since, you know, Supernatural, zombies, my current appearance? No? Well. He's only 16 years old. He was born on the same day as me, so it'll be my birthday in a month.

And for those who ask me if I don't feel bad for the guy, the answer is yes. I do. He died young, it's a shame. Now, if you ask me if I feel guilty for taking over his body, my answer will be no. My life is above his.

My life is above his. He wouldn't have lasted a month in this world anyway.

I don't give a damn. And you know what's better? I don't care if I don't.

Right now, my main priority is to rummage through the rest of the house. Food, water, weapons and anything else useful. Planning what I'm going to do next can wait.

I go to the closed door, which will probably lead to the rest of the house. But first, I headed for the corner of the room, where there was the only thing that could be used as a weapon. A baseball bat.

Why a gun? Well, my theory is that the parents of this body are already dead, and by extension, transformed. Inside the house. Then the original owner of this body saw this and ran into his room where he ended up fainting, which led to his head hitting the corner of the dresser, causing him to die and my consciousness inside this body.

After unlocking the door, I put my hand on the knob and took a deep breath to gather my courage.

"Come on, Dean. It's easy, isn't it? Just one or two little zombies." I say to myself and finally open the door, as slowly as I can, so as not to make a sound. Looking down the hallway to the bedrooms, I see that all the doors are closed and there are no zombies here in this part of the house.

Taking courage, I go to the stairs, but instead of going down, I hit the baseball bat on the banister a few times and then stop.

In less than five seconds I hear the unmistakable sounds of moans and growls coming from the mouths of the zombies. Not to mention the footsteps that are easily heard.

Moving away from the staircase, I return to the bedroom and leave the door ajar with a privileged view of when the creatures arrive.

And I don't have to wait a minute, as the first zombie, a man, appears on the stairs and stares off to the side, as if looking for his prey.

And not just any man, but the one in the photos. Very different, since he was zombified.

And that almost made me vomit.

It was very different to see a zombie that was meters away than one that was within your reach.

The skin, the teeth, the smell. Everything was so grotesque. And it only got worse when the second one, the zombified woman, arrived on the second floor.

"Calm down, Dean. Don't throw up now. You know what to do. One hard blow to the head and that's it." I bite my lip lightly to distract my nervousness.

As soon as the zombie father moves a little further down the corridor, I see my opportunity, and despite the fear, nervousness, apprehension and slight dizziness I'm feeling, I open the door, drawing the attention of both zombies.

Without giving them time to react properly, I walk over to the mother zombie and imagining her as a pinata, I hit her on the side of the head with the bat. But I think I hit her too hard, as her skull smashed and the bat broke along with it.

"Shit!" I shout angrily, as the second zombie is coming, and with my gun broken, the distance advantage no longer works. I involuntarily start to move away, but end up trapped against the wall.

With no option, I wait until the zombie is at arm's length, and take a big step to his side, standing behind him, where I take the opportunity to push the rest of the baseball bat into the back of his head.

Which turns out to be easier than expected, since what I had imagined was just enough to kill him, not go through his head. And as a consequence, blood hits my face!

"Argh! Shit!" I let the dead zombie fall to the floor and tried to wipe off as much as I could with my shirt, but it wasn't enough to get it all off. So I quickly run to the bathroom in the bedroom and start wiping my face.

"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" I complain as I finish cleaning myself and look at my reflection, only to see the reflection of another zombie entering the room. I quickly hide next to the door, where I can still see him through the mirror, but he can't see me directly, only by my reflection.

I watch him approach, and when he passes the door and me, I grab him by the back of the head and start banging his head against the sink. Again and again, until a piece of the sink breaks off.

Letting go of the bloody corpse, I start to gasp from the effort I've just made. Until the rotten smell hits my nose all at once, which reminds me of having done this twice before, and to top it off, the zombie's skull has been completely crushed. I soon started vomiting on top of the rest of the zombie.

It took me 10 minutes to stop vomiting every time I saw the fucking corpse in front of me. As soon as I'd finished, I was about to wipe the back of my hand over my lips, but before I could do so, I smelt the same rotten smell and when I looked at my hand, I noticed that it was bathed in blood.

"Probably that son of a bitch's blood." I took a step out of the bathroom, but first I kicked the zombie and locked the door on my way out.

"Grr! I need a shower." I growled and with a clean hand, I started looking for some clothes to put on, but they all seemed too small. In fact, even the clothes I was wearing now were a bit small.

Leaving these clothes behind, I go to another room in the house, probably the parents', and find some clothes that were still a bit tight, but wearable, and head to the bathroom for a well-deserved shower.

As soon as I take off my shirt, I can see why it was so easy to finish off the three zombies. This body was torn. The next thing I look at is my new friend from downstairs. If I'm going to be in this body from now on, I'd better have something to be proud of. And I can say that I'm not disappointed.

Ignoring this, and doing my best to ignore the strangeness of taking another guy's cock, which is technically mine now, I head straight for the shower.

After showering and getting fully dressed, I leave the room and head cautiously towards the stairs. One more zombie has appeared than I expected. Maybe there are more in this house?

Arriving on the first floor, I first survey the surroundings, locating each room and seeing if there are any threats. With no danger in sight, my top priority is to arm myself, so I head for the kitchen, which I had located earlier.

When I arrived, I grabbed a knife and started walking through each part of the house. Every door I saw, I checked. But there was nothing else in the house apart from me and the bodies upstairs.

Sighing with relief at not having to kill any more zombies, and not having to take a second shower because I'd soiled myself, I started checking the useful items. Not much food. Enough for a week. Three, if I think about it.

In the fridge, at least two bales of water, a few cans of soda, a box of frozen pizza, cheese, pork and chicken. Grabbing a can and putting the pizza in the oven, I start rummaging through drawers, cupboards and other things in search of something useful. But apart from a lighter, a flashlight, a water filter, a notebook and a pen, there weren't many useful things.

Of course I took the knives, just in case.

Now, a short list of what I have:

32 bottles of water

7 cans of soda

200 mg of pork

250 mg of chicken

Cheese

7 cans of canned food

2 packets of bread

Potato Chips

Peanut butter

As I said, there was hardly any food in the house. They weren't prepared for something like this happening. The car wasn't in the garage, so it's probably outside. A place I don't want to go, at least not now.

Everything that depended on being in the fridge, like the meat, I had to consume first, since I didn't know how long the light would keep working.

With the pizza ready, I devoured it whole with soda, as I was very hungry.

Maybe it was the blood loss or the fight earlier. I don't care.

Back upstairs, after checking that everything was locked, including the bedroom door, I went to the double bed and lay down to sleep.

I know I said I would think about my next steps from now on, but the blood loss my body had suffered, the little fight and all the events since I woke up had sapped all my energy.

Both physically and mentally exhausted, so I'll leave it until I wake up. I closed my eyes and it didn't take me a second to fall into Morpheus' realm.
