Chapter 19 - Who’s the bastard that made you angry?

Negut was startled upon hearing that and immediately asked, "Is everything fine? Why will the principal be in jail?"

"Young master..." Uncle Wells smiled and said, "You probably don't know what happened when Mr. Smith brought that kid to the principal's office."

Negut frowned. From what he knew from the tropes he had read in novels on Earth, Alec definitely wouldn't be expelled.

On the contrary, the principal would even find the young man very interesting and start helping him unconditionally.

Why?

Of course, there was no reason at all; it was just because he was the protagonist.

The protagonist's aura was incredibly terrifying; even if he fell into dangerous situations, he could return safely.

Moreover, the protagonist's aura could even lower others' IQ, making them trust him unconditionally.

Negut sighed inwardly, feeling extremely envious of the protagonist.

Returning to the present, he looked at Uncle Wells and said, "Perhaps the principal will favour Alec and not let him bear any responsibility, right?"

Uncle Wells widened his eyes, his face full of disbelief as he looked at Negut. But then that surprised face turned into a smile full of satisfaction: "Young master, did you already know that?"

Negut didn't want to answer, so he just nodded slightly.

After all, the relationship between Alec and Selvia hadn't progressed at all, so how could Alec be expelled?

If Alec were expelled, how would the plot at the academy develop?

Negut speculated that Alec definitely wouldn't be expelled. In fact, the principal would surely become one of Alec's biggest supporters in the future.

It's just... Negut didn't understand why the principal was in trouble.

"Young master..." Uncle Wells continued, "I followed him and saw that the principal favoured Alec, so I had the inspectorate investigate the principal."

"Interestingly, the inspectorate found that he had embezzled more than 30 million credit points from public funds. In fact, there might be even more since he also embezzled charity money."

"His imprisonment is certain. After all, when he took the position of principal at Survivor Academy, he became one of our pawns."

"He could embezzle public funds, and we could pretend not to see it. But he dared to favour the one who attacked the young master, which is no different from opposing you."

"Therefore, I cannot let him do such a foolish thing."

"He should feel lucky that I didn't take action; otherwise, he would regret existing in this world."

Uncle Wells' voice was filled with such murderous intent and coldness that it made Negut shiver.

However, Negut was also extremely surprised; he didn't think the principal would embezzle charity money.

It must be known that the principal could become one of the characters who could greatly influence the protagonist.

More precisely, the principal was on the protagonist's side, but he did such terrible things.

A question popped into Negut's mind at that moment: 'Is the protagonist truly a good person?'

Negut suddenly remembered a few novels he had read, where the protagonist was not a good person, but not entirely evil either.

The protagonist only used his kindness towards his subordinates and his women, but to others, he was a devil.

Negut frowned and asked, "Uncle Wells, so... were you the one who ordered the inspectorate to arrest the principal?"

Uncle Wells did not deny it; he nodded, his face very serious.

Negut frowned, looking at the system notification board; the time until 'Death Event' had not changed. This meant that what Uncle Wells did did not change his fate.

Suddenly, Negut rubbed his chin and thought: 'Could it be... three days is the minimum time Alec needs to be able to kill me?'

'Or more precisely, Alec currently does not have the conditions to kill me, but within these three days, he might gain some condition.'

'As soon as he gets that condition, he will be able to kill me.'

He frowned, thought for a long time, then sighed and said, "Uncle Wells, you don't need to do that."

"Hm?! Young master, you mean..." Uncle Wells asked, confused.

Negut looked at Uncle Wells and sincerely said, "I know what he did is unacceptable. However, as humans, making mistakes is normal."

"Therefore, we don't need to push him to the brink of despair. When a rabbit is cornered, it can bite back at the wolf."

"If we push him into a dead end, he might bite us. Even if he can't do anything, it's better to be cautious."

"You... give him a way out. Let him leave this city and go to a new safe area."

"Let him and his entire family move to a new safe area, and let him take all his assets with him."

Uncle Wells frowned upon hearing this, but he didn't ask any further questions. He just nodded slightly and replied, "Young master, I understand."

Negut sighed. He did this not because he was a good person, but because he wanted to minimise conflicts between him and Alec.

In fact, what the principal did was certainly wrong, but after all, the principal was his father's subordinate. He feared that the principal might hold some evidence.

Although his father was the governor, there is no such thing as a pure snowflake in this world.

Therefore, he gave the principal a way out, equivalent to giving himself a chance to live when pushed into a corner.

Negut nodded and continued, "Moreover, bring more bodyguards to my private residence. I feel that something extremely dangerous is going to happen to me soon."

Of course, he couldn't reveal what he knew. Even if he did, Uncle Wells probably wouldn't believe him.

Therefore, he had to speak vaguely like this.

"Yes, young master," Uncle Wells nodded and replied, "We have many high-level Survivors. I will summon them back to your private villa immediately."

Hearing this, Negut breathed a sigh of relief and then ordered Uncle Wells to take him home. After all, staying at the academy was meaningless at this point.

Alec was the protagonist, so he would continue studying normally at the academy.

The issue was... Negut needed to grasp the time tightly to prepare for the 'Death Event.'

The system said that... if he could survive the 'Death Event,' he would receive additional rewards from the system.

This means that... he still had a chance to continue living. The issue was that he needed to prepare thoroughly.

Although the protagonist was currently only a level 5 Survivor, we couldn't use normal logic to guess what the protagonist could do.

In novels, even if the protagonist didn't have any special powers, he could still kill villains as easily as killing chickens.

Therefore, Negut didn't dare to underestimate him, nor did he dare to be careless.

Uncle Wells didn't accompany Negut; instead, he went to carry out the request he had just made.

However, Uncle Wells didn't leave immediately; he just stood watching the car drive away, disappearing around the corner, then took out his phone and called Negut's father, Van Borok.

"Master... the young master wants me to do these things..." Uncle Wells began to recount the entire situation.

Borok was silent for a long time, then said, "He is right to do so. Follow my son's orders, and I will send another high-level Survivor."

"Yes, master." Uncle Wells nodded, then ended the call, his eyes looking into the distance.

Borok, Negut's father, stood by the window, gazing at the cityscape.

Knock! Knock!

A knock on the door was followed by a woman's voice: "Governor, it's me."

"Come in!" Borok said, his voice devoid of any other emotion.

The door opened, and a woman around 30 years old, with black hair and round-framed glasses, entered. Her lazy expression contrasted with an incredibly alluring aura.

Like a black rose, proud and seductive, making everyone who saw her want to touch her.

"Rebecca..." Borok said, "Do you have any information about the new safe area?"

Rebecca frowned upon hearing that, picked up her tablet, checked a few things, and said, "No, Governor. There is no new information."

"Ah! Actually, there is one piece of news, but... it's just that the safe zone isn't entirely safe. It seems there was a void monster attack on the first residents there."

"Void monster..." Borok muttered, frowning, "Perhaps... my son knows something."

"Hahaha..." Rebecca laughed and said, "Governor, it's funny that your son knows something our investigators don't."

Borok didn't reply, his eyes looking into the distance. After a while, he said, "Don't underestimate my son; he... is not who you think he is."

Rebecca sighed, feeling very frustrated. "Alright, he's very smart and very amazing, okay?"

"Continue monitoring the situation in Safe Zone 27." The Head of State seemed unconcerned with Rebecca's words, frowning as he ordered, "If there is any new information, send it to me immediately, understood?"

Rebecca replied wearily, "Yes, I understand, my great governor."

Rebecca left the room and walked down the hallway, angrily taking out her phone and opening a hidden chat app.

In her friends list, there was only one name, 'Harem Lord.'

Ding!

Negut was sitting in the car when he heard the sound of a message notification from his phone.

He took out his phone and saw a message from his mysterious friend, 'Rich Big Sis.'

[Rich Big Sis: Oy! Are you there?]

[Harem Lord: Here! What's up? Need a man already? Sorry, I'm not interested in you.]

[Rich Big Sis: AAAA!!! I'm so angry right now.]

[Harem Lord: Who's the bastard that made you angry?]

Borok: "Achoo!"
