Chapter Ten:
A knock echoed on Liza's door, sharp and demanding. She ignored it, her defiance simmering even as her pulse quickened. Another knock, harder this time. She knew it was Theo—no one else in this place would dare disturb her so boldly.
When she remained silent, she heard a faint click, and her heart jumped as she realized what he was doing. With a harsh jolt, the door handle shattered as Theo's pistol forced the lock open. The door swung wide, and there he stood, his expression dark and unreadable, the gun still in his grip. He stepped inside, eyes narrowing on her, a glint of something fierce and possessive in his gaze.
Liza's heart pounded, and she backed up, but it was useless. In two swift strides, Theo closed the distance between them, grabbing her arm with an tight grip and pulling her close. Her breathing hitched as his eyes met hers, and a small, almost taunting smirk curved at his lips.
Without a word, Theo leaned in, his hand sliding to the back of her neck, his hold firm and unrelenting. She gasped as she felt his mouth brush against her neck, his breath warm against her skin. Before she could react, he bit down, just enough to leave a mark, a reminder of his control.
Liza clenched her fists, feeling a wave of fear and anger surge within her. She pulled back slightly, but he held her there, his eyes never leaving hers.
"You'll answer when I knock next time," he murmured, his voice soft but edged with a warning. "Understand?"
