Chapter 78 - Chapter 78: Husband, You Are Really... Awesome

Vados's radiant smile widened as she spoke softly, "Lord Grand Priest, do you acknowledge him now?"

The Grand Priest, with a rare chuckle, replied, "I do. Kahn is now a qualified son-in-law."

His tone carried a hint of resignation mixed with approval. Initially, the Grand Priest had vehemently opposed Vados's decision to marry Kahn. The idea of an Angel—immensely powerful and divine—marrying an ordinary human seemed ludicrous to him. Were it not for Vados's unwavering determination and her willingness to risk her own existence, he might never have relented.

But now, seeing Kahn's incredible growth, the Grand Priest's heart softened.

"Once Kahn officially ascends to the position of Great God of Destruction," he added, "he may stand equal to me in both power and status. It seems I was wrong to doubt your choice, Vados."

As the communication ended, a single tear of joy escaped Vados's eye. Watching Kahn transform from a human with a mere 300 power level into a figure that could rival the multiverse's most formidable beings was beyond anything she had imagined.

She had worked tirelessly behind the scenes to guide him, orchestrating events such as the fateful meteorite crash that sent Kahn to Whis for training. While she hoped Kahn would never discover the full extent of her interventions, Vados couldn't suppress her pride in his achievements.

"Husband," she murmured, her cheeks flushed, "you truly are... remarkable."

Outside the realm of the Great Gods of Destruction, the gods waited anxiously after being sent away by the Grand Priest. None dared to leave; they were eager to see Kahn emerge.

When a colorful burst of light heralded Kahn's arrival, the gods swarmed toward him.

Leading the pack was Quitela, trembling as he approached. "Uh, Mr. Kahn, about earlier… I apologize for my behavior. I hope you won't hold it against me."

Kahn smirked. "Isn't this Rat Tail Juice?"

Quitela froze. Then, catching Kahn's playful tone, he forced an awkward laugh. "Haha, yes, yes! Lord Kahn, you are the most magnanimous person I've ever met. Truly!"

"Of course," Kahn replied, his smirk growing. "You haven't forgotten the bet, have you?"

"Of course not!" Quitela declared, puffing up his chest. "From this day forth, my name is Rat Tail Juice! Everyone, please call me by my new name!"

The other gods stifled their laughter, but Kahn couldn't resist a chuckle.

---

After humoring the gods briefly, Kahn waved a hand dismissively. "That's enough for now. Whis, let's head back."

Whis nodded, addressing the gathered deities with a polite bow. "Farewell, everyone. We'll meet again soon."

With a burst of light, Kahn and Whis vanished, leaving the gods in stunned silence.

Among them, Champa wore a mask of calm, but inside, he was spiraling into panic. Unlike the others, Champa had a particularly antagonistic history with Kahn.

Alice, his Angel, noticed his tension. "Lord Champa, is something wrong?"

Champa glared at her. "Wrong?! Everything is wrong! What do you think Kahn will do to me when he becomes the Great God of Destruction?!"

Alice adjusted her glasses thoughtfully. "Perhaps you should apologize to him."

Champa scoffed. "You think an apology will fix this? I was ready to destroy him back then! If the Grand Priest hadn't intervened…"

"True," Alice admitted, her tone measured. "But perhaps you could appeal to Vados. As Kahn's wife and your former Angel, she might be able to mediate on your behalf."

Champa perked up at the suggestion, only for his enthusiasm to wither moments later.

"Vados already knows what I did," he grumbled. "She hasn't confronted me yet, which means she's saving it for the perfect moment. If I go to her now, I'll just be walking into a trap!"

Alice sighed. "In that case, Lord Champa, perhaps it's best to start preparing yourself for... the worst."

Champa groaned, burying his face in his hands. "I'm doomed…"
