Chapter 61 - Chapter: 61 Gods of Destruction summit

Beerus' Star

Returning to Beerus' realm felt as natural to Kahn as stepping into his own home—no unfamiliarity, no hesitation.

He sat across from Whis and asked casually, "Whis, is there anything you need help with?"

"Of course," Whis replied, his eyes gleaming with a certain interest. "Mr. Kahn, have you ever heard of the Gods of Destruction Summit?"

"Gods of Destruction Summit?" Kahn raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Sounds like fun. What is it?"

Whis smiled and began his explanation.

The Gods of Destruction Summit was a martial arts tournament held once every century among the twelve Gods of Destruction across the Universes. Each Universe's God of Destruction participated, and the summit had been a long-standing tradition—dating back to before "May 97." The purpose? The winner could potentially earn the chance to pull the Great Gods of Destruction staff from its resting place, signaling that they were worthy of the title of Great God of Destruction.

In the Dragon Ball universe, powerful figures like the Grand Priest held dominion over the Twelve Universes' Angels, but no one had ever held dominion over the Gods of Destruction. There wasn't a singular God of Destruction that could control the others.

The Great Gods of Destruction staff, however, was the coveted prize. Whoever could pull it from its resting place would be granted the title of Great God of Destruction—a status equal to that of the Grand Priest, who led the Angels.

So far, no one had been able to remove the staff, and the requirements for doing so remained unclear. Was it immense strength? Unyielding persistence? Or perhaps monstrous talent and potential? No one knew, but whoever succeeded would ascend to the highest position in the universe's hierarchy, ruling over all the Gods of Destruction.

"And that's where you come in," Whis added, his tone serious. "Since Lord Beerus is currently asleep, I'd like to ask you to represent the Seventh Universe at the next Gods of Destruction Summit."

Kahn's interest piqued even further. The idea of competing against the Gods of Destruction from across the Universes, battling for the opportunity to pull the legendary staff, was exactly what he had been dreaming of. He couldn't resist.

"You're asking me to take Beerus' place? Absolutely. I'm in," Kahn responded, his enthusiasm clear.

Whis nodded, pleased by the quick response. "Then it's decided. You'll stand as the candidate for the Seventh Universe. Your participation will be an important step toward achieving your goals."

Kahn smiled with a fire in his eyes. "Where's the venue?"

"The Great Gods of Destruction Realm."

The Great Gods of Destruction Realm was a unique space, separate from the Twelve Universes, much like Zeno's palace. It was the domain of the Great Gods of Destruction, though it remained empty for now, awaiting a rightful ruler. To access it, the twelve Angels had to cooperate to open a path leading to it.

After a brief period of preparation, Whis led Kahn to the assembly point in the First Universe. When they arrived, the other Gods of Destruction and their Angels were already present.

"Sorry for the delay..." Whis greeted, his tone polite but firm.

"Ugh, the Seventh Universe is always the last to arrive," muttered Quitela, the God of Destruction from the Fourth Universe, folding his arms with a sarcastic sneer.

Kahn noticed the attention shifting to him. When the Gods of Destruction saw that Beerus wasn't present and a strange face had taken his place, murmurs spread across the group.

"Who's this guy? Did Beerus finally chicken out and send someone else?" Vermut, the Clown God of Destruction from the Eleventh Universe, sneered.

"Could it be that Beerus is too scared to show up? Hah!" Terra, the God of Destruction from Universe 2, grinned with delight.

Kahn stood tall, unfazed by the mocking chatter. He could feel the eyes of all the Gods of Destruction upon him, filled with both disdain and curiosity. This was the moment he had been waiting for—to make a lasting impression.

Whis, sensing the tension, stepped forward and explained, "As Lord Beerus is currently unavailable, Mr. Kahn will be representing the Seventh Universe in this summit as its candidate for the position of Great God of Destruction."

With that, Whis looked at Kahn, signaling it was his turn to speak.

Kahn stepped forward, his gaze sweeping over the gathered Gods of Destruction, each one glaring at him with suspicion or ridicule. But Kahn wasn't fazed. He knew this was the moment to assert himself.

With a calm but powerful voice, he declared, "I, Kahn, have come here for one reason, and one reason alone."

The room fell silent, all eyes on him.

"I will step on your bones to reach the top of the altar of the Great Gods of Destruction."

His words echoed through the space, cutting through the arrogance of the assembled Gods like a blade. The challenge was clear, the stakes high.

The Gods of Destruction fell into stunned silence, their mocking expressions faltering. Kahn had made his presence known, and now there was no turning back. The summit had just begun—and Kahn was here to claim his place among the gods themselves.
