Chapter 339 - Chapter 339: Please Talk About Personal Hygiene, Please!

Despite Reiki's comments, Namikaze Minato maintained his composure as he fended off his two attackers. The enemies pressing him felt the mounting pressure as Si Ji, one of their strongest, had already been defeated by three young shinobi.

Reiki, now fully aware of the situation, glanced at Namikaze Minato. The famed Yellow Flash had not used his signature Flying Thunder God Jutsu during the battle. A quick look around revealed the reason—dark, purple-black mist coiled around the locations marked with Minato's kunai.

"He's poisoned," Reiki muttered, confirming Minato's status on his panel. The Hokage candidate's strength kept him upright, bolstered by the recovery and stamina potions Reiki had supplied earlier. But restricted movement and poison were enough to tip the scales in a battle.

Reiki's eyes fell on the tall ninja who, despite the odds, remained smug. "Of course, it was all planned to give Kakashi, Obito, and Rin the space to complete their unofficial Chuunin exam," Reiki thought, admiring Minato's dedication as a sensei.

"Brother Minato, I have an antidote that can help!" Reiki shouted, placing a vial under one of Minato's kunai.

"Got it." Minato teleported instantly, snatching the vial. The corrosive poison burned at his arm as soon as he arrived, darkening his skin and disintegrating his clothes.

"He actually dared to touch Gu's poison mist!" the tall ninja laughed mockingly. But his grin faltered as Minato drank the potion and Reiki stepped up, pressing his hands to the injured arm. The toxin vanished from Minato's body almost instantly, and color returned to his skin.

The enemy leader's laughter died as he realized Minato's recovery. "Gu, deal with that medic!" he barked.

"Just a boy?" Gu sneered as he emerged from the trees, shrouded in a cloud of black-purple mist. His short stature, barely a meter tall, was exaggerated by the filthy cloth tied around his head and the sickly purple vapor trailing from his mouth. With each step, vegetation wilted.

Reiki crinkled his nose, the stench of decay pungent in the air. "Personal hygiene, please!" he shouted in disgust. "Don't come any closer."

Gu's beady eyes flared. "Trying to provoke me, boy? You think your little jokes—"

"No, that's genuinely what I think," Reiki interrupted, his face wrinkled in disdain. The sight of Gu made him reconsider using his own weapons just to avoid contamination.

"You... I'll make you pay!" Gu's voice seethed with rage.

But before Gu could finish his threat, Reiki had already moved, appearing at his side with a bucket of water mixed with an antidote. He upended it over Gu, drenching him.

Gu stood in shock as the antidote-laced water began neutralizing his poisons. The noxious mist around him dissipated, and from the box on his back, vials of toxins spilled and sizzled as they touched the ground, turning harmless.

"How... dare you?!" Gu roared, horror on his face. "Those were my precious—"

"Who cares?" Reiki scoffed, stepping back. "It's bad enough I had to bathe you during a battle. Obito, Kakashi, your turn. Rin, stay back—he's filthy."

With that, Reiki vanished, leaving Kakashi and Obito to flank the stunned Gu.

Without hesitation, they moved. Kakashi's short sword found its mark, piercing Gu's side, while Obito drove his kunai into the opposite shoulder. Thunder chakra surged from both weapons.

"Lightning Release: Thunder Bind!"

"Lightning Release: White Flash!"

The twin jutsu enveloped Gu in crackling energy. He screamed as the electricity tore through him, emitting thick clouds of black fog that stank of burning poison.

"Obito, Kakashi!" Minato's voice carried concern as he finished off one of his own foes. The poisonous mist worried him despite Reiki's antidote.

"We're fine, Sensei," Obito replied, stepping out of the dispersing fog with a grimace. "But this guy... seriously needs a bath."

Kakashi, appearing unharmed, nodded. The mask he always wore turned out to be a perfect filter against the foul stench. It was, for once, more than just a fashion statement—it was a lifesaver.
