Over the next two days, Kakashi and his teammates found themselves repeatedly pushed to their limits by Reiki's relentless training regimen. At first, anger simmered within them, then came despair, and finally, a sense of acceptance. Despite the challenges, Kakashi, Obito, and Rin felt a significant improvement in their ability to face larger forces in battle.
"The joint training is complete," announced Reiki. "Hatake Kakashi, Uchiha Obito, Nohara Rin—victory!"
In their final match, the trio emerged victorious. This time, Reiki, Guy, and Asuma refrained from joining the battle directly. Reiki only provided healing, while Asuma and Guy played supporting roles. Even with the win, Kakashi and his teammates lay sprawled on the ground, utterly exhausted.
"Finally… we won," Obito gasped, his voice heavy with emotion. A rare smile appeared in Kakashi's tired eyes, while Rin, despite her fatigue, beamed with joy. If she had any strength left, she would have hugged her teammates.
"Rest up; you're on a mission tomorrow," Reiki said. "I've healed your bodies, so go home and get some sleep." He turned to Machuan, "Arrange for some people to escort them back."
Machuan nodded and dispatched six people to accompany the worn-out trio. Though their physical injuries were minimal, the mental and emotional strain of the past three days was evident.
Once they left, Reiki approached Nawaki. "Brother Nawaki, here are some potions for you. You need to boost your strength. If you fail the Jonin exam again tomorrow..."
Nawaki's face flushed with embarrassment, but he managed a smile. "I understand." He took his team and departed.
Reiki turned back to Machuan. "For now, don't take on any missions. Stay at the orphanage and focus on training everyone. Build a solid foundation so they can become stronger ninjas. I've left resources and money for this purpose."
With that, Reiki handed over potions and enough money before leaving. After he left, Hanyu Azawa approached Machuan.
"Are you really not going to tell Boss Reiki?" Hanyu Azawa hesitated.
"We'll tell him after he returns from the mission," Machuan replied after a moment of thought. "Boss Reiki's resolve is strong; he won't blame us for this."
"Alright," Hanyu Azawa sighed and went to rest. The intense training was more draining than most missions, and everyone at the orphanage needed a break. Machuan planned to distribute body-strengthening potions to everyone and allow a day of rest.
Reiki returned to his small courtyard, where Tsunade awaited him. "Are you prepared?" she asked with a warm smile.
"Yes, I'm ready," Reiki responded. "Teacher, please look after everyone at the orphanage while I'm away. Also, the Third Hokage has been interacting with the orphans—this is a good thing."
"The Third Hokage?" Tsunade's brow furrowed. "What do you mean?"
"I think he might try to make a move involving the adoption of the orphans. It's not necessarily a bad thing. Recognition is what they deserve, no matter the reason or motive behind it," Reiki said firmly.
Tsunade nodded, realizing that over the years, she had only focused on the development of a single prodigy—Reiki. She had overlooked the importance of recognition for the others at the orphanage. This acknowledgment was vital for Reiki and the children.
"I understand. I'll take care of everything," Tsunade promised. "Are you sure you have everything you need?"
"Yes," Reiki confirmed, pulling out several scrolls from his ninja pouch. "I've brought 500 bottles of the rampage potion, 500 high-level recovery potions, and these specialized detonating charms and ninja tools."
Tsunade's eyes widened. "Enough, I don't need to see more. Just be safe."
Unlike most ninja, who embarked on missions to gain money or status, Reiki spent resources freely, sometimes even at a financial loss. While others brought weapons, Reiki brought an arsenal.
Thinking of the powerful enemies Reiki would face, Tsunade found herself feeling sorry for them.
The next morning, the group gathered at the village gate.
"Brother Minato," Reiki greeted warmly, "Lord Aburame Shibi, Lord Akimichi Choza."
"Having you on this mission, Reiki, makes me feel more at ease," Choza said cheerfully.
"Reiki," Aburame Shibi spoke up, "would you sell me more of your advanced culture potions?"
Reiki smiled. "No need to buy them. I've prepared 40 bottles for you. That should be enough for now. And Lord Choza, here are strength and speed potions I made specifically for you—ten bottles each."
Both Choza and Shibi stared at the potions in disbelief and then looked at Minato.
Minato chuckled. "This isn't my first mission with Reiki. Our main objective is to complete the mission, but Reiki's supplies make the difference."
Reiki's presence meant that any mission felt secure. With his unmatched medical skills and vast resources, even powerful foes would be left demoralized.
