Over the next few hours, Nozuki and Shisui worked diligently to absorb the information Reiki had shared. They even went through Reiki's detailed plans and records several times, ensuring they understood what was expected.
"So, what can we do?"
With the time spent processing the information, Shisui finally regained his composure. Reiki had mentioned needing their help, after all.
"Shisui, with your current position in the Uchiha clan and your role in the Anbu, I need you to approach Chief Fugaku and pass this information to Sarutobi Hiruzen."
Reiki said as he pulled out a pen and jotted down a detailed plan.
"This…"
Shisui stared at the plan in shock.
[Uchiha Fugaku and Namikaze Minato are too close and are suspected of collaboration.]
A single line like that could spell disaster for both the Uchiha clan and Namikaze Minato. Delivered by Uchiha Shisui, there would be no room to question its authenticity.
"Don't worry, the Third Hokage already suspects this. Bringing it to him will only increase his trust in you."
"I believe, Shisui, that your loyalty to the Will of Fire surpasses your loyalty to the clan."
"This will open the door for you to access key missions that were previously out of reach."
Reiki continued, placing another file before them.
"Shimura Danzo?"
"Are you implying that there is growing tension between the Third Hokage and Danzo?"
"And, your objective…"
Shisui began to piece it together. All of Reiki's prior actions were laying the groundwork for this moment. Sarutobi Hiruzen's patience with Danzo was wearing thin. If a compliant yet powerful clan emerged at this time, the Third Hokage would likely move to suppress Danzo and support this new ally to maintain balance within the village. And as part of this alliance, it could very well mean support for Minato becoming the Fourth Hokage.
"Exactly."
"You understand, so let it sink in."
"Now, we need to strategize on how to persuade Chief Fugaku."
Reiki smiled, knowing the simplicity of the plan belied its complexity.
"I understand."
Shisui nodded in agreement.
"And me?"
"What about my role?"
Nozuki asked eagerly. If Shisui's mission was vital, surely hers would be just as important.
"Nozuki, you have a significant task."
"I need you to tell Lady Kushina about the plan, but not Minato."
"And we need Kushina to support our strategy."
Reiki said with a grin.
"What?!"
Nozuki was stunned. Wasn't the whole plan centered around making Minato the Fourth Hokage? Why keep this from him?
"Brother Minato is too straightforward."
"Externally, he might come across as overconfident, but inwardly, he is too principled. Involving him directly could backfire."
Reiki explained with a sigh.
Minato was brilliant in combat and ninjutsu but lacked the cunning needed for political maneuvers. The goal wasn't to change Minato's character but to use his honesty to create a truly unified Konoha—one where clans cooperated, not just protected their interests.
"Yes, my brother…"
Nozuki felt a bit embarrassed, recalling Minato's naive smile. Convincing Kushina for Minato's sake seemed doable. If Minato were aware, he might refuse outright or argue with idealistic principles.
"Alright, it all depends on how you both perform now."
"If anything deviates from the plan, inform me immediately so we can adjust."
"Remember, this is not a drill!"
Reiki said seriously.
"Understood!"
"Got it."
Shisui and Nozuki nodded in unison, though a sense of regret washed over them. They had often scolded Reiki for not involving them in his plans. Now that they were fully briefed, they realized how intricate and exhausting his schemes were. Their minds had been pushed to the limit.
"Oh, and let me know if you need more of the strengthening potion."
"The stronger we are, the more power we have to influence events."
"That's the foundation of everything!"
"I'm heading back now."
Reiki said, then vanished.
Half an hour later, Nozuki turned to Shisui.
"Shisui, do you think Reiki always thinks about these things?"
"He works even harder than us, more than a workaholic."
"How does he find the time?"
Nozuki asked, shaking her head in disbelief.
"Uh…"
"I'm not sure."
Shisui admitted, his own head spinning from the mission ahead. Why would he want to think about anything else?
...
When Reiki returned to the courtyard, Namikaze Minato and Uzumaki Kushina were gone. Tsunade sat by the fire, deep in thought.
"Teacher."
Reiki approached slowly, rubbing the back of his head.
The shadow clone that had been cleaning up dispersed as Reiki walked over. Yes, it was his shadow clone that had prepared tonight's barbecue. Tsunade didn't seem to mind that Nozuki hadn't come back; the younger generation had their own tasks.
"Reiki, tell me, where do things stand with your plan?"
Tsunade exhaled deeply and asked.
"We're at a critical stage now."
"The next steps rely on Uchiha and Lord Orochimaru's responses."
Reiki spoke softly, standing beside Tsunade.
"You seem confident."
"Tell me everything, in detail."
Tsunade's voice, though slightly slurred from the drink, was firm and clear.
"Understood."
Reiki did not refuse. The plan had started the moment he first engaged with Namikaze Minato. After nearly two years of careful preparation, it was time for clarity.
Reiki laid out the plan, the arrangements, and his analysis of the current power structures in the village.
"Wait, let me take this in."
Tsunade raised a hand, her mind racing. The depth of Reiki's strategy nearly overwhelmed her, though she managed to absorb it more gracefully than Shisui and Nozuki.
"You kid…"
Tsunade chuckled, a mix of pride, joy, and amazement on her face.
