Just as she walked out of the hospital, an ANBU ninja appeared in front of Tsunade.
"Tsunade-sama, Hokage requests your presence."
The ANBU member spoke politely.
Though ANBU members often exuded pride around others, they knew better than to show any arrogance in front of Tsunade. After all, she was known to take action if provoked.
"I understand."
"Reiki, you go back first," Tsunade said before following the ANBU to the Hokage's office.
Back at the courtyard:
"Brother Reiki!"
"Reiki-kun," greeted Kurenai Yuhi and Shizune as they came forward, the food already prepared.
"Reiki, I really envy you. If you didn't come back soon, I wouldn't have been able to eat," Nawaki's voice called from the living room. After intense training sessions, he found himself hungrier than ever.
When he arrived home and saw the spread Shizune and Kurenai Yuhi had prepared, he was eager to eat but couldn't start without waiting for Reiki and Tsunade.
"Sensei went to see the Hokage. Let's go ahead and eat," Reiki said as he washed his hands. "By the way, Brother Nawaki, how is your training going?"
"You're right—I used to be lazy. But after training hard for a few days, I've felt my strength increase significantly!" Nawaki replied confidently.
"Good, keep it up," Reiki said before starting his meal.
After dinner, Shizune and Kurenai Yuhi went to bathe and exercise, while Reiki and Nawaki stepped into the courtyard.
"Brother, do you think Sister Tsunade wants to become Hokage?" Nawaki asked out of the blue.
"Hm?" Reiki looked at Nawaki, intrigued. "Why do you ask?"
Reiki began to see the gravity of the situation. If even Nawaki, who often didn't catch on to the subtleties, had such thoughts, then surely others would as well. This included figures like Danzo and Sarutobi Hiruzen, who were known for their political machinations.
"Reiki, your interactions with other clans, your work at the hospital, and your tasks for the interrogation department—they all seem unrelated. But as my sister's disciple, aren't you trying to raise her profile?" Nawaki continued.
"Well... you're not wrong," Reiki admitted, pausing. "But I don't know if Sensei is interested in becoming Hokage."
"You know, my training has also become more significant. Tomorrow, the Hokage is coming to the academy to give a speech to boost the village's cohesion and the Will of Fire. Isn't my training part of building up my sister's reputation?"
Hearing this, Reiki was taken aback. His intentions had only been to ensure Nawaki could protect himself. How had this spiraled into a potential Hokage campaign?
Still, knowing how figures like Danzo and Sarutobi Hiruzen operated, it wasn't impossible that they were stirring things up behind the scenes.
"Nawaki, you need to focus on becoming stronger for your own sake. If Sensei needs us, she'll let us know. For now, just keep training," Reiki advised after some thought.
"Alright," Nawaki said, nodding as he headed back to his room.
Just as Nawaki returned to his room, Morishita appeared in the courtyard.
"Lord Morishita?" Reiki asked, surprised. "You're back?"
"Yes. I came back and heard a lot about you, so I wanted to see you for myself. You seem to find yourself in quite a bit of trouble—rumor has it you even took out some of Danzo's men," Morishita said with a smile.
"What? I didn't cause trouble—it was just self-defense," Reiki replied lightheartedly. Despite being an ANBU, Morishita had always left a good impression on him, having protected him in the past.
"Reiki, have you joined the battle order yet? There's been some unrest outside the village. Be cautious when going on missions; some villages are beginning to act unpredictably," Morishita said, shifting the conversation to the situation outside.
"Unpredictably? What do you mean?" Reiki asked, puzzled. His knowledge of the intricate rules of the ninja world was still somewhat limited.
"The competition for resources is becoming more chaotic. There have even been clashes between the major villages, resulting in casualties. This level of hostility hasn't been seen since the previous Great Ninja War," Morishita explained with a sigh.
"I see..." Reiki said thoughtfully. Then, noticing Morishita's condition, he offered, "Lord Morishita, let me treat you. You're injured."
Without waiting for an answer, Reiki began to heal him. Despite timely treatments during his mission, Morishita's accumulated injuries still needed attention.

Before Reiki could ask more about the village's situation, a system notification rang in his mind.
