After reading the mission records compiled by Ji Gu, Sarutobi Hiruzen's brows knit in contemplation.
"Is this the itinerary you followed today?" Hiruzen sighed, taking a moment to gather his thoughts. "Tell me, what do you think?"
Ji Gu hesitated. "Hokage-sama, I'm curious—why are you having Asuma train with Reiki? They belong to completely different fields. From today's observation, aside from the morning exercises and combat training, the rest didn't seem particularly beneficial for Asuma."
Sarutobi Hiruzen listened carefully. He understood Ji Gu's concerns; medical ninjas and combat ninjas had distinct roles and training methods.
"Is that your conclusion?" Hiruzen replied. "But what if I told you Reiki has reached jonin-level strength? Does that change your perspective?"
Ji Gu's eyes widened in surprise, and he re-evaluated his initial assessment. If Reiki truly had jonin-level abilities, there was much more to learn from him than Ji Gu had initially thought. Hiruzen saw this realization settle in and decided to clarify his approach.
"Asuma mentioned he'd be staying with Reiki to continue training. It seems he's already sensing Reiki's strength. Let's let him continue, and we'll reassess in a month."

At Konoha Hospital, Reiki was deeply focused in the independent ward.
"Tweezers," he called.
"Here!" replied Asuma, somewhat clumsily passing the tweezers.
"Gauze."
"Here!"
"Wipe my forehead."
"Uh… sure!"
Outside, Shizune stood, watching with a slight pout.
"Shizune, what's wrong?" asked Kana as she passed by. Both Shizune and Reiki were well-liked at the hospital, known for their skills and dedication.
Shizune huffed. "Nothing's wrong… just that someone else is assisting Reiki today."
Kana peeked through the window and chuckled. "Lord Asuma? When did he become a medical ninja?"
At that moment, Reiki's voice called from the ward, "Shizune, could you bring more gauze, and prepare the detox pills and stamina potions? Asuma's a bit slow today."
With a smile, Shizune quickly prepared the supplies, her earlier mood forgotten as she eagerly resumed her duties alongside Reiki. Even when it came to small tasks, she had a natural grace that made her an efficient assistant compared to Asuma.
Later, after completing his tasks at the hospital, Reiki turned to Asuma. "We're done for the day, and there are no missions from the Interrogation Department this afternoon. Come on, I'll treat you to dinner. You've been helping out a lot."
Asuma's face lit up. "Great!"
They headed to a barbecue restaurant, and upon seeing Shisui also having dinner there, Reiki invited him over. "Eat whatever you like, it's on me. Shisui, how's work been?"
Shisui smiled, a bit more confident than before. "Missions are going well. Real combat training is different from anything else."
Just then, Nozuki appeared, rolling her eyes playfully. "Oh, Shisui, quit acting so serious just because you've done a few missions. Admit it, you're still nervous!"
They all laughed, enjoying the camaraderie, and after dinner, made their way to the training grounds.
Shizune soon excused herself, waving goodbye as she left to prepare dinner for her teacher, Tsunade.
As they sat down, Reiki turned to Asuma. "So, what exactly is your mission?" he asked with a curious smile.
"To assist you in your work," Asuma replied with a shrug. "But honestly, your work is really boring."
Reiki chuckled. "Assist me? What, are you applying to be a medical ninja's assistant now?"
Asuma shook his head vigorously. "No way! I want to be a combat ninja, not stuck in the hospital all day. Can you share your training methods with me? I really want to get stronger."
At this, both Shisui and Nozuki turned their attention to Reiki, realizing that perhaps Asuma's mission was indeed to gain insight into Reiki's techniques.
"Alright," Reiki said, smiling. "My training is actually pretty straightforward. I do sparring every day. When Shisui and Nozuki are free, I train with them. If they're not around, I seek out other skilled ninjas like Lord Nagasawa of the Uchiha, or Lord Natsume. Then, in the evenings, I focus on chakra refinement and take body-strengthening potions to enhance my physique. Haven't you tried the body-strengthening potion yet? It works wonders."
Shisui and Nozuki exchanged surprised glances. They knew Reiki well, and it was unusual for him to share his methods so openly.
Was this all there was to his strength? Or was there more to Reiki's approach than he was letting on?
