Just as Minato was trying to make sense of things, three figures emerged from a distance.
"A sealing scroll?" Minato's eyes widened at the sight of the scroll in Shisui's hand. These three had used ninjutsu to conceal themselves from the very beginning of their encounter. Those he had been fighting were just their shadow clones.
Minato wasn't sure exactly how many clones there had been. But one thing was certain: the three of them had chosen stealth over direct confrontation. Unless a ninja with a strong sensory ability had sensed the chakra fluctuations when the scroll was first used, their strategy was close to perfect.
"You were all within the barrier the scroll created, so…" Minato looked at them, rubbing his aching waist, "who was it that attacked me?"
The two attacks he'd received were surprisingly powerful, and his waist was visibly swollen from the hits.
"It was Reiki's puppet," Nozuki said with a grin. If anyone was happiest at this moment, it was Nozuki. As Minato's younger sister, she had lived in the shadow of his brilliance for so long, always feeling pressured by her genius brother's fame.
"A puppet?" Minato glanced at Reiki, looking impressed yet puzzled. Here was a genius medical ninja, skilled in taijutsu, ninjutsu, and kenjutsu, outshining even Kakashi, Uchiha Shisui, and others of his generation. And now, he was proficient in puppetry too?
"Don't exaggerate it," Reiki said. "Brother Minato, let me heal you."
Reiki stepped forward, releasing a healing jutsu. For such a simple injury, his hands didn't gain much proficiency, as his medical skills were already quite advanced, with a proficiency level of 78%.
*Ding! Congratulations to the host for completing the treatment. You have received 4 healing points, 7 chakra points, and a surprise gift package.*
Hearing the system's notification, Reiki retracted his hands. With ten surprise gift packs accumulated, he figured it was time for a round of draws.
"System, open the surprise gift packages," he commanded internally.
[Ding! Congratulations to the host for receiving a damaged Poké Ball from the Pokémon world.]
[Ding! Congratulations to the host...]
…
[Ding! Congratulations to the host for receiving the superhuman-type Op-Op Fruit from the One Piece world. The fruit's abilities come with surprising enhancements, and side effects have been cleared.]
…
Upon hearing this special reward, Reiki's attention was so caught that he stopped listening to the other notifications.
"Op-Op Fruit?!" he muttered, swallowing hard.
"Reiki, are you alright?" Minato asked, noticing Reiki's dazed look.
"Huh...? I'm fine," Reiki replied, quickly covering. "The battle just drained a lot of chakra. I need to rest."
With that, Reiki vanished. Minato, though sensing something unusual, decided not to pursue it.
"Nozuki, Shisui, check on Reiki and remember the meeting time," Minato instructed before heading to regroup with the others.
Meanwhile, Reiki sat high in a tree, holding the Op-Op Fruit in his hand.
"Here goes!" Without a second thought, he took a bite. Instantly, an awful, bitter taste filled his mouth. Even though he'd prepared himself, it was still worse than expected.
"This thing is really nasty…"
He raised his hand, and a force field appeared, slowly expanding as he channeled his chakra.
After a few seconds, he retracted his hand, panting heavily. "The chakra cost is intense…" Just a few seconds of experimentation had consumed about a third of his remaining chakra. At full capacity, he might be able to maintain the technique for about 20 seconds, and even then, over a small area.
"Reiki, are you okay?" Shisui and Nozuki called as they approached, seeing Reiki looking slightly worn out. They assumed it was due to the intense battle with Minato. Facing such a strong opponent, they knew Reiki must have spent a considerable amount of energy.
"I just need a little recovery," Reiki replied, settling cross-legged on the branch and pulling out a stamina and recovery potion. Using the Op-Op Fruit consumed both chakra and physical strength, helping him understand why Law often felt drained in the One Piece world.
With the potions' help, Reiki was back to full strength within half an hour.
"Alright," he said, passing four more bottles to Shisui and Nozuki. "Keep these on hand."
He still had a limited stock, and a few days earlier, he'd received a message from Prime Minister Sanada requesting a replenishment of his sold-out potions.
"Reiki, do you think there's really nothing to worry about with Teacher Tsunade?" Nozuki asked with concern. After learning about everything, she understood why Tsunade might be emotionally strained. Given the mission's sensitive nature, Nozuki couldn't help but worry about her.
"Don't worry," Reiki reassured her. "Even if she injures someone, I can heal them afterward. Come on, let's check on her."
Before they reached the casino, the three spotted a figure writhing on the ground nearby.
"Master Dan?" Reiki rushed over to help Kato Dan to his feet.
"Ouch… Reiki, just let me lie here and treat me."
"Alright."
*Thud!*
Reiki let go, and Kato Dan fell back to the ground, groaning before passing out from the pain.
"More experience points for me," Reiki thought, initiating a healing jutsu. Kato's injuries earned him 39 medical points, a testament to just how hard Tsunade had hit him.
"Master Dan, we'll go inside and find Teacher Tsunade. You…?"
"No, I'll go back and discuss things with Minato and the others. Be quick," Kato Dan replied before disappearing.
With Kato gone, the three entered the casino, and as soon as they stepped inside, they spotted Tsunade.
