Half an hour had passed, and Sheila's irritation grew. "Why haven't those two come back yet?" The nagging feeling of foreboding settled in his gut.
"They're jounin; they should be able to handle a genin easily," he muttered, trying to convince himself.
"Lord Sheila, should I go and check?" one of his subordinates suggested cautiously.
"No need. If they haven't returned, they probably ran into Tsunade," Sheila replied, immediately thinking of the legendary ninja.
One by one, the four of them blinked away, reappearing near the battlefield.
---
Upon their arrival, they were met with an astonishing sight. Reiki was crouched next to the two injured Kirigakure ninjas, healing them. Sheila's worldview shattered once more; Tsunade wasn't even present, and yet here was a genin treating two jounin who were supposed to be incapacitating him.
"You're the leaders of this attack, right?" Reiki said casually, still focused on his work. "Hold on; let me finish treating them first."
The two ninjas, lying on the ground, showed no signs of struggle. They were utterly defeated, their expressions dull and lifeless.
With a gentle glow emanating from his hands, Reiki finished his treatment.
*Ding! Treatment complete! 4 treatment points earned, 12 solid chakras gained, and 1 acceleration potion received.*
*Ding! Treatment complete! 4 treatment points earned, 11 solid chakras gained, and 1 physical potion received.*
Reiki stood, stretching his arms with a satisfied smile.
"Reiki, where's your teacher?" Sheila inquired, his voice tinged with suspicion. He still held on to the notion that Tsunade was the one who had dealt with the two jounin.
"Are you looking for me?" A voice came from behind, causing the four to turn sharply, kunai drawn.
Tsunade appeared before them, her expression calm but serious. "Although it's a bit troublesome, I'll have to incapacitate you first."
"Go ahead!" Sheila shouted, readying himself for an attack.
With a powerful leap, Tsunade charged at them, her fists ready to strike.
"Water Release: Water Barrier!" Sheila called out, quickly forming seals to defend against her assault.
The other three joined in, unleashing their own water techniques, but the combined efforts barely slowed Tsunade down.
"Impressive teamwork, but a little weak," she taunted. "You don't think such an attack can hurt me, do you?"
Suddenly, she vanished, only to reappear behind one of the ninjas.
"Attack!" Sheila shouted, realizing too late where she had gone.
A barrage of shurikens and water projectiles rained toward Tsunade, but she dodged with ease, her movements fluid and instinctive.
In a matter of moments, one of the jounin fell to the ground, seriously injured by a stray attack from his own teammate.
"Boy, what do you think you're doing?" Sheila spat, anger flaring as he watched Reiki approach the fallen Gur.
"I'm a medical ninja, so of course, I have to treat injuries," Reiki replied nonchalantly. "If you want him dead, feel free to stop me."
Sheila was at a loss, watching as Reiki knelt beside Gur, his hands glowing with healing energy. This bizarre scene left him feeling utterly bemused.
"Hey, while you're fighting, you still have time to think about other things. Are the ninjas of Kirigakure at this level?" Tsunade's voice echoed from behind Sheila again.
Before he could react, she delivered a powerful punch that sent him crashing to the ground, the impact rattling his insides.
Sheila coughed up blood, his face pale and drenched in sweat. If he hadn't moved quickly, Tsunade's blow could have killed him.
Their original plan to subdue Tsunade had gone horribly wrong; they hadn't even touched her, and already three of his team members were incapacitated.
"Damn!" Sheila fumed, panic creeping in. "You two, contain Tsunade while I prepare a special A-level ninjutsu!"
He fumbled for a scroll, beginning to form seals. His companions rushed off to locate Tsunade again.
"Just as I'm starting to enjoy myself, and you're preparing your trump card?" Tsunade reappeared right in front of Sheila, her expression amused.
Seeing her, the remaining jounin rushed to support their leader.
"Okay, I won't play with you anymore," Tsunade said, the air around her thick with power. "This level of chakra fluctuation is beyond what a genin like me can handle."
"Teacher!" Reiki shouted suddenly.
In a flash, Tsunade transformed into a puff of smoke, the figure shifting until it resembled Reiki.
"Transformation?!" Sheila exclaimed in disbelief. "So it wasn't Tsunade who was fighting us, but a genin from Konoha?!"
The realization hit him hard, and his frustration boiled over.
"Puff!" Sheila coughed, the seals in his hands collapsing as blood spilled from his mouth. He was thrown back, losing consciousness as he hit the ground.
"Damn it! You dare to play tricks on us?!" the remaining two shouted in fury, launching themselves at Reiki.
"Boom!" A massive figure materialized in front of Reiki, blocking the attack and sending the two assailants crashing away.
Reiki felt the rush of adrenaline as he heard bones crack.
"Yes! This transformation technique is going to be fun!" Tsunade grinned proudly, clearly thrilled with her disciple's creativity. "You'll surprise everyone when you return. Tell me what reward you want when we get back!"
With that, she vanished once more, leaving the battlefield in chaos, Reiki standing tall amidst the aftermath of the battle, ready for whatever would come next.
