Chapter 12 - **Chapter 12: Kakashi Is Not as Handsome as Me—The Will of the Medical Ninja!**

Reiki picked up Kakashi's short sword and approached him with a smirk. "It can't be that simple—just being broken by me, right? In my eyes, you're a genius."

"Genius?" Kakashi echoed, feeling a mix of irritation and disbelief. Usually, such praise would boost his spirits, but after being defeated by Reiki, it only felt like salt on the wound.

"Reiki, you don't have to do this," Kakashi said, determination flashing in his eyes as he accepted the dagger back. He wasn't ready to give up on his sword skills.

"How about a deal?" Reiki proposed playfully. "Show me your face, and I'll give you a chance to challenge me. If you refuse, you might miss your chance once I officially become a medical ninja."

Kakashi raised an eyebrow, intrigued but wary. "Fine," he replied, lifting his mask.

A handsome face emerged, though not as striking as Reiki's. So, there was no secret behind that mask—just a bit of showmanship.

"Now, do you want to challenge me, or do you need some practice first?" Reiki asked, holding his giant sword with a relaxed demeanor.

"I'll practice until I'm ready, then I'll come for you," Kakashi replied, re-masking himself and retreating into the room, his resolve renewed.

The atmosphere shifted slightly, awkwardness lingering in the air.

"Reiki, you're incredible!" Obito exclaimed, breaking the silence. "But don't think I'll give up my dream of becoming Hokage to you. You'd better strive to be my ANBU leader instead!"

Reiki laughed, appreciating Obito's spirit. "Work hard, and I believe you'll become Hokage one day."

This praise only fueled Obito's excitement. He bombarded Reiki with questions about the qualities needed to be Hokage, insisting on a long list. Eventually, Reiki had to wrestle him into submission to quiet him down.

"Reiki, you need to get to the hospital quickly," Obito suddenly interrupted, a serious tone replacing his earlier excitement. "They're understaffed and a lot of wounded are coming back from the front lines."

"I understand," Reiki replied, recognizing the urgency. "Rin, explain to Uncle Sakumo that there's an emergency at the hospital." With that, he dashed toward the medical facility.

Upon arriving, he headed straight to the public ward. The room was filled with ordinary ninjas—those without influential backgrounds, relying solely on the village for support. They typically ended up in these wards, while the more privileged were assigned to better facilities.

"Why did you call in kids to help us?" one of the injured shouted. "We fought tooth and nail to return, only to die in a hospital?"

"Keep it down! I believe in the village!" another defended, though skepticism lingered.

As they argued, Reiki focused on the task at hand. He couldn't let the negativity distract him; his mission was to heal.

"Shizune, you handle the bandaging. Remember to disinfect everything," he instructed as he moved swiftly from one patient to the next. "We need to work quickly; time is of the essence."

"Got it!" Shizune responded, motivated by Reiki's leadership. The complaining patients quieted, realizing the urgency of their situation.

Reiki continued his work, performing debridement and basic treatments. Many of the wounded ninjas had severe injuries, some missing limbs. While regeneration techniques could restore them, the energy needed for such healing was beyond what Reiki could manage alone. He focused on preventing further injury and ensuring survival for as many as possible.

After several hours, Shizune finally pulled Reiki from the ward. "Brother Reiki, I appreciate how powerful you are, but you need to take care of yourself too!"

Tears glimmered in her eyes, and Reiki felt a twinge of guilt. "I'm fine, really. I promise I'll listen to you," he said, trying to soothe her.

"Don't lie to me," she teased, holding out her pinky.

"Fine," Reiki chuckled, linking his pinky with hers. Girls were certainly cute when they were passionate.

After a brief rest, Tsunade arrived. "How are the patients?"

"Most have received emergency treatment, but my chakra and stamina are running low," Reiki admitted, frustration creeping into his voice. It annoyed him to see the disparity in treatment—many family ninjas received care from multiple medical ninjas while others suffered.

"I understand. Rest now; I'll take over from here," Tsunade assured him. She entered the ward, and the atmosphere shifted as her presence calmed the patients.

"Did you see that kid? He's Tsunade's disciple!" one ninja exclaimed. "He's exceptional; that kind of awareness is rare for someone his age."

"Right? Just a moment ago, I was complaining about kids treating us," another laughed. "And look who's here!"

With Tsunade and Reiki leading the way, the mood in the ward lightened. The pain seemed a little less intense, their spirits bolstered by the promise of recovery.
