When Lyle woke up the next day, the first thing he heard was Ginny's voice, sharp but not angry, cutting through the faint hum of the clinic.
"I'm telling you, Cass, he's not a villain. He's just misunderstood."
Cass let out a loud, incredulous scoff. "Misunderstood? Ginny, the guy literally tried to blow up half the city. That's not misunderstood; that's a war crime!"
Ginny threw up her hands, her face scrunched with frustration. "He had reasons! Did you even listen to his backstory? The city exiled his family! They stole his land! Of course he's mad!"
"Being mad doesn't mean you can go around committing arson!" Cass shot back, folding his arms across his chest like he'd just delivered the winning argument.
