Chapter 8 - Morning Reflections and ranking system part 1

The next day, Lucas awoke before dawn, eager to get a head start on his day. It had become a routine of his—waking up early, doing a few stretches and exercises to strengthen his body, and then freshening up for the day ahead. After a quick bath, he walked over to the mirror, feeling a small rush of curiosity, as he did every morning, to see his reflection.

A pair of deep, mesmerizing blue eyes stared back at him. His gaze was intense yet soft, the color an unusual depth that sparkled with a certain intelligence and maturity that seemed beyond his age. His hair was a striking blend, primarily a pure, silvery hue that shimmered in the light, but with subtle hints of blue threading through, giving him an almost otherworldly appearance. The mix of silver and blue seemed to dance in the light, giving his hair an ethereal quality. His small face was framed by gentle waves of hair, and his skin was smooth, clear, and pale.

Lucas often compared himself to his parents when he looked in the mirror. His mother, Seraphina, had pure white hair, an inherited trait of her elvish lineage, a testament to her heritage from the Surya Clan. Her hair was like woven moonlight, shimmering with elegance and purity, perfectly complementing her piercing blue eyes that were even deeper than his own. Her appearance was regal and graceful, with an ethereal beauty that marked her as someone from an ancient, powerful bloodline.

His father, Dorian, was equally striking in his own way, with a powerful, almost intimidating presence. Dorian's hair was a gleaming silver, similar to Lucas's, but without the subtle hints of blue. His black eyes were sharp and piercing, always seeming to see right through anything they looked upon. Dorian's face bore the stern, chiseled features of a warrior, with a strength that was as much in his demeanor as it was in his physique. Though Lucas's appearance bore similarities to his father's, he was a softer blend, with traits from both parents, giving him a unique look that made him stand out even more.

Satisfied, Lucas ran his fingers through his hair, a small smile touching his lips. It had indeed become a ritual—taking a moment to look at himself and reminding himself that he was no longer the ordinary boy he had once been.

Without further delay, Lucas slipped out of his room and made his way toward his personal library. He knew he had only a small window of time before his twin sister, Emily, woke up. She was always ready to drag him away from whatever he was doing to play with her, and Lucas found it impossible to refuse her. Her charm and adorableness were simply too much to resist, and he knew he couldn't say no to her even if he tried.

Entering the library, Lucas felt a familiar sense of peace. This was his sanctuary, a place where he could dive into the vast knowledge of this world. Today, he decided to start with the structure and hierarchy of the clans. In his past life, the novel had only described the Supreme Clans in depth. However, Lucas knew there was so much more to understand, especially regarding the God-level clans, which held the highest rank of all and were mostly unknown to the public.

He pulled out a thick tome titled The Ranking of Clans and Powers, and settled into a cozy corner, flipping through the pages as he began reading about the complex hierarchy:

1. God-Level Clans – These clans possessed the rare SSS-ranked individuals, making them nearly invincible. Very few knew of their existence, as they operated in secrecy and had power beyond comprehension. Only four clans held this rank, with the Asura Clan and the Surya Clan among them.

2. Supreme-Level Clans – Although not as powerful as the God-level, these clans had at least one SS-ranked individual and immense influence within the empire. They were publicly recognized as the strongest known clans.

3. Top-Tier Clans – These clans had only one SS-ranked individual, typically their head, and several S-ranked members. They were powerful and highly respected, often leading large territories or regions.

4. Large-Tier Clans – Headed by S-ranked individuals and boasting several A-ranked members, these clans were significant forces in their respective regions.

5. Medium-Tier Clans – These clans were headed by A-ranked leaders with several B-ranked members. They were strong, though limited in influence compared to the higher tiers.

6. Low-Tier Clans – The lowest recognized clans, led by B-ranked individuals and populated with lower-ranked members, mostly below B rank. They had the least influence and resources.

Lucas studied the ranks with fascination, realizing just how vast and intricate the world of clans was. With this newfound knowledge, he could better understand the structure of power in this world. He leaned back, thinking about how different his position as the heir of the Asura Clan was from the life he'd left behind. Here, he had both the responsibilities and the resources to truly make a difference, if he played his cards right.

Lost in thought, Lucas was interrupted by the sound of light footsteps approaching. He turned and saw Emily peeking into the library, her face lighting up as soon as she spotted him.

"Lucas! I knew I'd find you here," she said, running over and tugging on his sleeve. "Come on, it's time to play!"

Lucas chuckled, closing the book. His quiet morning in the library was over, but he didn't mind. Seeing the happiness on Emily's face reminded him of how precious these moments were, and he couldn't deny her.

"All right, all right," he said, letting her pull him along. Behind them, the library stood silent and undisturbed, waiting for Lucas to return once again to continue his quest for knowledge.

Author's Note

Just a few more chapters, and we're still diving into Lucas's life within the Asura Clan. These moments may seem simple, but they're essential for setting the foundation of his journey—the love he feels for his family, the strength of his bond with Emily, his adorable twin sister. Don't let her cuteness fool you, though. You'll soon see how she grows into the cold, unstoppable heroine she's destined to be.

The main storyline will truly begin once Lucas meets… well, that's a secret! You'll have to keep reading to discover that mystery for yourself. Trust me; the best is still to come, and every moment here builds toward something greater.

Oh, and by the way, I've removed the quests since Lucas already has an advanced version of the system. With this, he can upgrade his rank and skills gradually, which keeps him powerful but balanced. He's strong, but there are limits to push through, so his journey remains exciting and challenging.

Thanks for joining me on this adventure—there's so much more ahead! 😊
