After a breakfast filled with laughter and lightheartedness, Matthew and Emily began to get ready for the day. Matthew showered and put on a casual shirt, while Emily decided to prepare more carefully for what she had planned.
She entered the bathroom, not realizing that Matthew was still nearby. Emily began to change, taking off the clothes she had worn the night before and putting on a new set of bra and panties. Then she began to put on her makeup, focusing on creating a look that would highlight her face.
However, while she was there, Matthew, distracted and still a little dazed after his conversation with his mother, decided that he needed an item he had forgotten and entered the bathroom without knocking.
The moment of silence was quickly broken when their eyes met. Emily was standing in front of the mirror, only in her underwear, with a foundation in her hand, and Matthew froze, his eyes wide with surprise.
"Emily!" was all he could say before he quickly turned around, his face burning.
"Matthew!" Emily exclaimed, placing her hands over her chest in an instinctive covering reflex. Panic took over her, and she quickly turned to grab a towel that was hanging nearby.
They both moved in a frenzy to get out of the bathroom. Matthew stumbled a little in his haste, mumbling an "I'm sorry!" as he tried to get away as quickly as possible. Emily, her heart still racing, also ran out, clutching the towel to her body.
As soon as they closed the door, an awkward silence fell over them. Matthew was against the wall of the hallway, still blushing and not knowing where to look, while Emily was on the other side, trying to compose herself and holding the towel like a shield.
"I… I didn't mean to… I'm sorry about that," Matthew said, his voice shaking. "I should have knocked."
"No, no, that was entirely my fault!" Emily replied, with a mix of nervousness and embarrassment. "I should have locked the door. I didn't think you'd come in unannounced."
"It's just that I thought you'd already left," he justified, still with a nervous smile on his face, trying to turn the moment into something light, although the awkwardness still hung between them.
"I'm... I'm fine, everything's fine," Emily said, trying to relax the situation. "We just... need to give ourselves some time so we don't scare each other like that again."
"Of course. And next time, I'll knock. I promise," Matthew stated, giving a nervous laugh, which made Emily let out a small laugh in response.
"Yes, please! And I'll remember to lock the door!" She said, now feeling a little more comfortable and amused by the situation, although the blush was still present on her cheeks.
"Shall we try to forget about this and continue getting ready?" he suggested, winking at her and easing some of the tension.
"Yes, let's go. And, Matthew…" she began with a mischievous smile, "maybe next time I'll have something more to wear."
They both laughed, and the lightness returned to the atmosphere. They prepared for the day with renewed energy, now with an extra story to tell about their somewhat peculiar interactions.
After the morning of laughter and a small awkward moment, Matthew sat on the couch in the hotel room and began to think about the possibility of a new home. The hotel was comfortable, but he felt like he needed a more private and personal space, especially now that his relationship with Emily was deepening.
With that in mind, he decided it was time to make a change. "A house in Paris would be perfect," he muttered to himself, imagining the idea of having a place where they could spend more time together.
With the decision made, Matthew picked up his cell phone and dialed the number of one of his few close friends, Lucas, who ran a reputable real estate company and often dealt with luxury properties. After a few rings, Lucas answered.
"Matthew! Long time no see! What do you need?" Lucas's excited voice came from the other end of the line.
"Hi, Lucas! I hope you're doing well. I was thinking about something… I was wondering if you have any available accommodations in Paris. Something I could use quickly. The hotel is too small and I'm really looking for something more spacious and cozy," Matthew explained, a hint of urgency in his voice.
"Paris? Wow, what a decision! And with a girl by your side, I imagine!" Lucas commented, with a playful laugh. "Sure, I have a few properties in the area. Do you have anything specific in mind?"
"I just need a place that has at least two bedrooms, a comfortable living area, and preferably a nice view. Oh, and it's easy to manage. I don't want to get into the hassle of maintenance right now," Matthew replied, feeling his excitement growing at the idea of having a home in one of the most romantic cities in the world.
"Sure! I have a house that should be perfect for you. It's in the Marais, a super charming and lively area. The house is modern, with a balcony that has an incredible view of the city. I can schedule a viewing for you tomorrow, if you're around," Lucas suggested.
"That would be great! When can I see it?" Matthew asked, already beginning to imagine Emily in that space.
"We can meet there at 10:00. I'll send you the address and some photos of the property so you can take a look first. You'll love it!" Lucas replied, visibly excited to help his friend.
"Perfect! Thanks, Lucas. I'm really excited about it," Matthew said, feeling relieved to have someone he could trust with this transaction.
"No problem! And maybe I can stop by and see this Emily person too? I want to meet her!" Lucas joked, and Matthew smiled, a little surprised by the idea.
"Sure, I'll think about it," Matthew replied, a hint of humor in his voice.
After hanging up, Matthew felt a wave of happiness at the thought of the possibility of having a space where he and Emily could share moments together. He remembered how the trip and the previous night's event had been such a blessing for him; the connection with her was growing deeper and deeper, and now having a home in Paris seemed like an exciting and natural next step.
He stood up and walked into the bedroom where Emily was getting ready. "Hey, I have a surprise," he said, catching her eye.
"A surprise? What is it?" Emily asked, curious and with a twinkle in her eye.
"I'm thinking about buying a house in Paris. I've already spoken to a friend who owns a real estate agency, and he's going to show me a property tomorrow," Matthew said, excitement evident on his face.
"A house in Paris? That's amazing!" Emily exclaimed, excitement evident in her voice. "We could have our own place there."
"Yes, exactly! A space where we can spend more time together," Matthew replied, feeling that the idea only strengthened what they were building.
"I'm loving this idea! We can take a city tour and discover new places," Emily said, beaming.
"And maybe a romantic coffee or two?" Matthew added, winking at her.
"Definitely!" She smiled back.
The next morning, Matthew woke up with a mix of excitement and nervousness. He was about to visit his house in Paris, and the idea of a new home made him anxious. After a light breakfast, he dressed carefully, wearing a casual shirt and jeans that gave him a relaxed but still elegant look.
Emily stood beside him, also getting ready for the visit. She wore a light dress that floated in the gentle morning breeze, her loose hair falling over her shoulders. When Matthew looked at her, his heart skipped a beat. There was something magical about watching her get ready.
"Are you ready for our new home?" he asked, a smile on his face.
"Ready and excited! I can't wait to see what you've picked out," Emily replied, her eyes shining with anticipation.
As soon as they arrived at the property, Matthew felt a surge of excitement. The house was situated on a charming street in the Marais, with stone buildings and wrought-iron balconies that graced the neighborhood. The facade was modern but with a classic touch, and there was a small entrance that led to a beautiful garden with colorful flowers that swayed gently in the breeze.
"Wow," Emily murmured, admiring the exterior of the house. "It's beautiful!"
"And that's just the beginning," Matthew said, opening the front door. When they entered, the space was airy and bright, with large windows that let in the sunlight. The entrance hall was spacious, with polished wood floors that gleamed in the light.
Lucas greeted them with a smile. "Good to see you! Let's take a look at the house, shall we?"
"Sure thing!" Matthew replied, already feeling at home.
They followed Lucas down the hallway, past a beautiful living room that had a modern fireplace and a large comfortable sofa, perfect for relaxing moments. "This is the main space. Imagine what it would be like in here during a winter, with the fireplace lit," Lucas commented, and Matthew and Emily exchanged dreamy glances.
"I think I could get used to this," Emily said, her smile widening as she imagined cozy nights in.
Continuing the tour, they entered the kitchen, which was a real highlight. The space was modern, with white cabinets and a gleaming marble countertop. There was a state-of-the-art stove and a central island that invited long conversations while they prepared meals together.
"This kitchen is amazing!" Emily exclaimed, touching the surfaces in awe. "We could cook together in here!"
"Exactly what I thought. And maybe have some parties with friends," Matthew replied, imagining what a new life in the city could be like.
After the kitchen, they went upstairs to the bedrooms. The first bedroom was spacious and had a balcony overlooking the street, offering views of the hustle and bustle of the Marais. Matthew immediately thought about how he could decorate it to make it even more welcoming.
"This could be our bedroom," he suggested, noting the look of excitement on Emily's face.
The second bedroom was a little smaller, ideal for an office or guest room. The light streaming in through the window made the space feel even more inviting. "We could make this our workspace," Matthew said.
Finally, Lucas led them to the master bathroom, which was luxuriously designed, with a separate bathtub and marble-tiled shower. "And this is the bathroom! Perfect for relaxing after a long day," Lucas commented.
Matthew and Emily exchanged knowing glances, already envisioning moments of tranquility together in this space.
"So, what do you think?" Lucas asked, watching both of their reactions.
"It's perfect," Emily replied, without hesitation. "I feel like we already belong in this house."
Matthew nodded, his heart racing at the possibility. "I feel that way too. I think it's the right choice for us."
"Great! Let's discuss the next steps," Lucas said, smiling as he noticed their enthusiasm.
After purchasing the house, Matthew and Emily were eager to spend their first day there. The morning light flooded the rooms, illuminating every corner of the new house and bringing life to the space they now considered their home.
Matthew woke up early, still feeling the excitement of the previous day. He stretched in bed and looked to the side to see Emily still sleeping, her hair loosely spread across the pillow. An involuntary smile appeared on his face; she looked so peaceful and beautiful. He decided not to wake her, so he got up quietly and went to the kitchen.
The kitchen was spotless, with all the utensils new and ready to use. Matthew began to prepare a simple breakfast, taking some fresh fruit from the fridge: strawberries, bananas and kiwis. He cut the fruit and put it in a bowl, mixing it with some yogurt. As he stirred, he couldn't help but think about how perfect it was to be here, doing something so normal with someone so special.
The smell of fresh coffee soon began to waft through the house, and Emily, drawn by the aroma, appeared in the kitchen with a sleepy smile. "Good morning, chef," she said, winking at him.
"Good morning! I hope you're ready for a delicious breakfast," Matthew replied, his heart warming at the sight of her.
Emily walked over, leaning against the counter. "Can I help you?" she asked, her eyes shining with curiosity.
"Sure! You can cut the bananas," Matthew said, handing her a knife. As she focused on the task, Matthew couldn't help but admire her determination, her every move looking graceful.
After a few moments of working together and much laughter, they served breakfast on the porch, where a small table and a few chairs were waiting for them. The sun was shining and the cool morning air was invigorating.
"Look at this," Emily exclaimed, taking in the table laden with colorful fruit and the steaming coffee. "It feels like brunch at a fancy restaurant!"
Matthew smiled as he sat down next to her. "I guess we could call it our special opening brunch."
As they ate, the conversation flowed naturally. They talked about plans for the house, decorating ideas, and places they wanted to visit in Paris. Time seemed to pass quickly, and between bites and sips of coffee, the atmosphere was full of love and complicity.
After breakfast, they decided to settle down on the balcony. Matthew pulled one of the chairs closer to Emily and wrapped her in a warm hug. The warmth of her body was comforting, and they both enjoyed the view of the neighborhood, which was slowly starting to come to life.
"Have you ever imagined yourself living here?" Emily asked, looking out at the horizon.
"Yes, and it's amazing. I never thought I would find a place like this, where I could dream and be happy at the same time," Matthew replied, looking at her face, which was illuminated by the sun.
"I feel that way too. This place… has a different energy. I feel like we can make incredible memories together here," Emily said, looking at him sincerely.
"And this will only be the beginning," Matthew added, leaning in to place a soft kiss on her lips. It was a light kiss, but full of promise and affection. When they pulled away, their eyes were full of understanding and affection.
"I want to do everything here with you. From making breakfast to movie nights," he said, his heart warming at the thought of everything they were about to experience.
"Me too! Let's fill this house with laughter and love," Emily replied, her voice full of enthusiasm.
They continued to enjoy their quiet moment, cuddling on the porch
