Chapter 1 - 1. The Silent One In The Orphanage

In the foggy dawn of London, a young boy named Ivan Ambrosius walked quietly across the wet courtyard of an old orphanage, his eleven-year-old frame almost disappearing in the morning mist. His eyes, however, were alive with anticipation as he neared the mailbox. Today, more than any other day, he hoped to find something special—a letter that could finally change his life.

"Is it coming today?" he murmured, his voice barely louder than a whisper. Ivan had waited for this moment ever since he'd arrived in this world. It was the Hogwarts letter, the legendary invitation to a world of magic he knew well but had never yet seen firsthand. Yet as he opened the mailbox and sifted through letters with anxious fingers, disappointment clouded his face. "Still nothing?" he muttered, sighing deeply, a flicker of sadness crossing his brow.

Ivan was not an ordinary boy from London; he was from another world, one vastly different from this. Ten years ago, he had arrived in this world as an infant, left at the doorstep of an orphanage with no more than a small, mysterious ring inscribed with the name "Ambrosius." The orphanage's matron, Mrs. Mena, a warm-hearted and caring woman, had named him after this single clue to his past.

But this ring was no ordinary ring; it symbolized a heritage, one tied to ancient magic. Yet, Ivan felt strangely indifferent about the mystery of his own background. To him, the ring was simply part of the identity that had been arranged for him by a system—the entity that had brought him into this world in the first place. With no explanation, the system had appeared and given him life here, bestowing certain powers as if by design. Over time, he had come to rely on this silent companion, though it offered little guidance beyond the power it granted him.

"System, open the attributes," Ivan whispered in his mind, and almost instantly, an ethereal panel appeared in front of him, listing his stats in glowing letters:

Name: Ivan Ambrosius

Age: 11

Race: Wizard

Bloodline: Ambrosius Family

Talents: Transfiguration Magus, Prophecy Magus, Silent

Attributes:

Soul: 3

Magic: 5 (Legendary)

Constitution: 1

Thinking: 3

Mind: 2

Will: 2

The panel indicated the current strengths he possessed—strengths that hinted at a power beyond what most wizards could imagine. His legendary-level magic hinted at an overwhelming potential, but that magic was tied to something darker: an Obscurus. Ivan had learned that when a young wizard suppresses their magic, the stifled energy forms a parasite of sorts—a destructive force known as the Obscurus. Despite his tranquil life at the orphanage, Ivan had developed this dark entity, likely due to his own abundant magic power, which far exceeded what his young body could control.

His other talents intrigued him. As a Transfiguration Magus, he could morph his appearance at will, bypassing the need for Polyjuice Potion or any spells to do so. Without warning, he could transform into anyone he'd seen before. But his powers as a Prophecy Magus were even more curious. They reminded him of Grindelwald, the legendary dark wizard who shared a similar ability to glimpse into the future and change his appearance. Ivan often wondered if his own Ambrosius bloodline was somehow linked to Grindelwald's, though he had no way to know for sure.

At that moment, as if responding to his thoughts, Ivan glimpsed a vision in the glass window of the orphanage. He saw a pure white owl with a letter tied to its foot and a reflection of himself, smiling as he opened the window to welcome the bird. "A vision?" Ivan realized, blinking to clear his mind. He often experienced flashes of the future, brief glimpses into what lay ahead. The window cleared, but the image lingered, filling him with hope.

Half an hour later, a gentle tapping on the window pulled Ivan from his thoughts. He turned to see the owl from his vision, waiting patiently with a letter tied to its foot. He opened the window and gently welcomed the bird inside.

"Thank you for your hard work," Ivan said softly, taking the letter as the owl let out a soft hoot. As a gesture of thanks, he scattered a few crumbs of bread for the owl, who nibbled at them appreciatively. Ivan turned his attention to the letter, tracing his fingers over the familiar Hogwarts crest and seal. With a deep breath, he broke the seal and began to read:

"Dear Mr. Ambrosius,

We are pleased to inform you of your acceptance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Attached is a list of required books and equipment. The semester begins on September 1st. In view of your special situation, Hogwarts will send someone to assist with any questions and preparations.

Sincerely,

Minerva McGonagall

Vice Principal"

A notification chimed in his mind. The system had awarded him his first potential point for receiving the Hogwarts letter. Ivan grinned as the glowing potential point appeared in his stats list, ready to be used to enhance his abilities. The system's lack of guidance left him to figure out much on his own, but at this moment, he felt grateful for its silent presence. He glanced back at the attribute panel, considering the possibilities.

Yet despite this excitement, Ivan's thoughts drifted back to the lurking threat of the Obscurus. His magic potential was truly legendary, but it also fueled the Obscurus within him, making it stronger with each passing day. If he lost control, the power he'd gained could easily consume him, turning him into a force of destruction like Credence, the silent Obscurial from "Fantastic Beasts."

But Ivan didn't want that fate. He wanted to explore this magical world, to uncover its mysteries, and to make his own path. He was willing to accept the challenges, even if it meant one day confronting the darkness within him.

For now, though, Ivan set his thoughts aside. The future awaited him, filled with possibilities and dangers alike. And with a final look out the window, he knew he was ready to meet it head-on.
