Chapter 2 - Rejected by the Alpha

"Looking good?" Alpha Luciano asked, staring at himself in the mirror.

"Definitely," Beta Damien helped him adjust his tie properly. "Oh, what about me?"

"Subpar," he retorted, prompting an eye roll from Beta Damien.

"I got flowers for Kat. Think she'll appreciate them?" He held up the roses, taking a whiff.

"She'd prefer a skilled masseuse over flowers. Who cares about flowers?" He shook his head and sighed. "A woman turned you soft and cringe," he remarked, rubbing his arms.

"You know, suddenly I have the urge to visit my little pets, I mean…they may be hungry," He said, and Beta Damien nodded.

"What do you want to feed them with?" He questioned, taking the car keys.

"I don't know, something fleshy, tall, nice body." He dropped his two hands on his shoulder. "Gladly I didn't forget his name, Damien," He said lastly.

"You want to feed me to a bunch of bloody cheetahs!" He exclaimed, as Alpha Luciano walked off, and he followed, still bewildered.

When they entered the car, the driver took off, while Damien kept on staring at Alpha Luciano.

"You really thought about feeding your best buddy to a bunch of cheetahs?" He mumbled, and Alpha Luciano nodded, while going through his phone.

"Just considering a wild twist to our friendship plot. Cheetahs need a good diet, after all," Alpha Luciano replied, smirking as he continued scrolling through his phone.

"Not fair!" He looked away, and Alpha Luciano smiled, almost unnoticed.

They arrived at Silver pack afterwards, stepping out from the car, Alpha Luciano's facial expressions changed swiftly.

Cold, thickened jaws and a dead face.

No one within his pack or beyond, save for his beta, has glimpsed his smiling countenance. Renowned for his callous demeanor and icy disposition, Alpha Luciano's presence commands attention.

"Welcome, Alpha Luciano. It's a delightful surprise to see you in the Silver Fang Pack hall," the guards greeted as he entered. Observing other alphas, often accompanied by their luna, he preferred solitude over social events.

Whispers and surreptitious glances trailed him. "I never knew you attended such gatherings," remarked one alpha. Alpha Luciano turned, hand casually in his pocket. "Well, you have a keen eye for someone who appears intellectually challenged," he retorted, earning a chuckle from Beta Damien.

A hand touched his, and he turned to face the person. "And you are?" he glared, prompting her to withdraw her hand. "Victoria Wilson," she said, smiling. "Never heard of such," he mumbled, and she laughed. "Forgive me, milady; she is Alpha Klaus's sister," Beta Damien introduced her, and Luciano smirked.

"Pleasure meeting you." His attention shifted when he saw Katherine serving the guests, noticing her bandaged hand. "Alpha Luciano!" Victoria called, and he averted his gaze.

Alpha Klaus walked in with a lady, prompting a handshake offer that Luciano tucked into his pants. "You're still antisocial," Klaus remarked. "Just as the rumor has it, he has the beauty of a god," Victoria muttered, as if under a trance.

"I would be right back," he said, leaving their presence. "What is he like?" Victoria questioned Beta Damien. "I believe you've heard the rumors; he's cold, heartless, and deadly," Beta Damien said, leaving her in shock.

Alpha Klaus took the stage. "Good evening Alphas and great Lunas," he began his speech, as moonlight bathed the earth and a gentle breeze rustled the deciduous trees.

"What happened to your arms?" Alpha Luciano questioned Katherine, making her flinch. "Alpha Luciano, you scared me," she muttered. "You should get used to that. Why did you avoid me?" he asked, loosening her hair.

"Maids are not supposed to let their hair down," she said, trying to tie it. "I like it this way," he responded, handing her a drink. "Here, have a drink." Katherine shook her head. "I'm sorry, Alpha, but I can't take anything from you," she bowed.

"Do I also frighten you?" He moved towards her. "No, not at all!" she responded. "Good," he patted her hair. "Katherine!" someone yelled, and she took the hairband from Alpha Luciano before running out.

He kept watching her until she was out of sight. "Pretty." With that said, he returned to the hall. Late in the evening, he sat beside Beta Damien, whom many she-wolves surrounded. "Ladies, ladies... it's time to leave," he clapped his hands, and they reluctantly departed.

"Never knew you had an interest in ladies."

"You don't expect this beauty to go to waste, do you?" he said, taking a spoonful of salad.

Katherine was instructed to serve Alpha Klaus's table, placing the wines on the table for Alpha Klaus and his girlfriend.

Purposely hitting Katherine's hand, the red wine spilled on Alpha Klaus's girlfriend, and she screamed, capturing everyone's attention.

"Oh my goodness…I'm so sorry," Katherine pleaded, bowing her head continuously.

"Sorry?" She yelled and slapped Katherine across the cheek.

Alpha Luciano smirked, sipping his drink as he silently watched.

"It's okay; you can change the dress," Victoria said, and she glared daggers at her.

"Not just a dress," She replied harshly. "Do you think you can afford such a dress, you lowly creature?" she shouted back at Katherine, taking the glass of water and pouring it on her hair.

"Stop, you're creating a scene," Alpha Klaus pulled her back.

"Why? Is it because this low life is your mate?" She fired back, gaining everyone's attention.

"It's about to go down," Damien muttered.

"What nonsense are you saying?" Alpha Klaus barked.

"What?! Am I suddenly saying nonsense now?" She snickered.

"I'm sure she planned to ruin my dress because she has got her lustful eyes on you all evening."

"No! That's not what happened," Katherine tried defending herself.

"Shut up!" Alpha Klaus retorted, and she remained mute.

"How could the moon goddess mate an Alpha with an Omega? A low life," a Luna chimed in.

"Enough, Luna Grace," he shot her a glare, and she scoffed. "And there's no freaking way I will be mated to a good-for-nothing maid," he added cunningly.

"What?" Katherine broke down in tears.

"Aww… she seems to be falling already."

"And even if she was my mate, you don't expect me to be with such an irritating thing, a good-for-nothing maid who would never be my mate," He retorted, and Victoria chuckled.

"How could you say such a thing to me, I thought…" She stuttered, while tears kept flowing down her cheeks.

"Why won't he say such a thing to you?" Alpha Klaus's girlfriend shot a glare.

"Let's end it here," Alpha Klaus said, and Katherine shook her head, tears mixing with sweat.

"I, Alpha Klaus Wilson of Silver Fangs pack, hereby reject you as my future mate and Luna," he uttered.

"No, no, please. I might die if I accept your rejection." She fell on her knees, crying out loud.

"You would die if you don't accept the damn rejection. You're nothing but a shame to me and this pack!" He yelled, and she shook her head, not ready to accept it.

"I'd rather die. Just kill me already." She crawled to him and held his leg. Feeling irritated, Alpha Klaus kicked her off.

"Don't you understand? You irritate me. For the sake of my image and this pack, accept the damn rejection!" He barked.

"I, I…" She gradually stood up, looked around the place, only to be faced with hateful, irritating glares. Some even went ahead to capture her with their phones.

"You suddenly lost your tongue?"

"I, Katherine Mickelson, hereby accept your rejection as your future mate and Luna," she muttered.

As Katherine uttered those painful words, a searing ache filled her chest. Each syllable of acceptance felt like a dagger twisting in her heart, and the weight of the rejection pressed down on her shoulders. She could sense the eyes of the pack members, once filled with curiosity, now filled with judgment and disdain.

Katherine's vision blurred with tears as she tried to maintain composure. The rejection echoed in her ears, a cruel reminder of a love that had crumbled before it could fully blossom.

Tears streamed down Katherine's face, her voice trembling as she spoke. Alpha Klaus, unmoved by her distress, continued with a cold demeanour. "Finally realizing your place, I see. A wise decision, though overdue. Your presence has been nothing but a stain on the honor of this pack."

Alpha Luciano and Beta Damien exchanged uncomfortable glances.

Katherine, now on the verge of a breakdown, struggled to maintain her composure. Alpha Klaus, relentless in his cruelty, added, "Do us all a favor and disappear from our lives. You were never meant to be part of this pack, let alone my future Luna."

Victoria, seizing the opportunity to assert her superiority, sneered, "Looks like even the moon goddess regrets pairing an Alpha with such a pathetic Omega. You were always beneath us, Katherine."

Alpha Klaus's girlfriend joined in, mocking Katherine, "I can't believe I had to share the same air as someone like you. It's a relief that Klaus finally came to his senses."

The pack members whispered malicious comments among themselves, reveling in the spectacle of Katherine's public humiliation. Some openly expressed their disdain, fueling the atmosphere with hostility.

"Aww… how on earth would your poor family be able to feed? Don't worry; you can still be a maid here. No one is gonna judge you," she laughed mockingly.

"Shut it, Rosy!" Alpha Klaus said. "Clean this mess," he referred to Katherine before he dragged his girlfriend out of there.

Katherine bent to the floor and began cleaning, but just as she picked up a glass piece, it gave her a cut.

She winced and stopped her work to pay attention to the injury.

"Leave it; I'll take care of it," a girl offered to help.

"Thanks," she mumbled and quickly hurried out of the crowd.

Crying her heart out on her bed, Katherine couldn't control her overwhelming emotions. The door opened, revealing Alpha Luciano leaning against the frame.

"Leave! I don't want to see anyone," Katherine yelled as she sat up swiftly.

Ignoring her protest, Alpha Luciano stepped in fully and walked to her. Silently taking her bruised hand, he used his handkerchief to wrap her palm, and her bleeding ceased.

"I said you should leave," Katherine muttered.

"Not when you need me," Alpha Luciano replied.

"I did everything. I did every damn thing for him to notice me, yet I keep getting treated like an eyesore," she said with a broken tone.

"Am I that irritating to be with?" She sniffed, pouring more tears.

"Shh… come here," Alpha Luciano pulled her to his chest, and she rested on it.

He kept patting her head softly while she continued crying bitterly.

Slowly lifting her chin up, Alpha Luciano maintained steady eye contact with her. Leaning, he captured her lips, kissing her gently. When he broke the kiss, Katherine remained motionless and tried to process what just happened.

Not knowing where the courage came from, she reciprocated. Alpha Luciano ran his palm on her smooth thighs, deepening the kiss each passing second. Gently, he laid her on the bed. The moment his fingers traced on her pants, Katherine shivered.

Kissing her neck, he made sure his body collided with hers. Slowly, she forgot about her pains, a slight moan escaped her lips, and she looked away, feeling shy.

His hands trailed on her thighs, and Katherine shivered, feeling helpless at his touch. Just like butter, she melted into his body.

He unzipped her dress, and her silk-clad body came into view. Like someone enchanted, he remained mesmerized by her beauty.

Trailing his fingers across her face, he leaned in and captured her lips, not releasing until he was satisfied, until he quenched his hunger. Simultaneously, his hands unhooked her bra, revealing her blossoming chest.

"You're so beautiful, Kat," he mumbled, kissing his way from her thigh back to her lips. His hands caressed her, eliciting soft moans from her.

Feeling more aroused, she wrapped both legs around his hips, her body starting to feel loose.

He slowly pulled down her panties, a smile creeping onto his face as he beheld the beauty beneath.

Moving down, he kissed her, driving her to ecstasy. She moaned, rolling her eyes in pleasure as he worshiped her.

"Uhh," she moaned, attempting to close her legs, but Alpha Luciano's hands kept them apart. She exhaled, holding onto the blanket.

When he lifted his head, he kissed her, sliding his tongue in, making her forget her sorrows. She moaned more than she thought she would.

"Should I go on?" He kissed her earlobe, expecting an answer, but she didn't utter a word. "Kat!" He called, and she looked at him, her eyes carrying every hint of pain and heartbreak. "Please, Kat, I promise not to hurt you."

With that, he moved to initiate further, but Katherine hesitated.

"Stop! You're hurting me," she cried out.

Overwhelmed by his desire, he disregarded her plea, causing her more pain.

"Kat, I promise to go slow." He kissed her tears, but she couldn't escape the pain.

Pushing on, her pleas went unanswered, her distress mounting.

The next morning, Katherine awoke sore, her body bearing the aftermath of the previous night. Memories flashed through her mind, and she quickly raised the blanket, confirming her suspicions.

"Oh my!" She gasped when she saw the bloodstain.

Suddenly, a loud bang on the door made her jolt as Alpha Klaus walked in. Shaking her head, she shivered from fright.

Drifting his gaze from her to the stain on the bed, he released a smirk.

"You did not," he muttered, boiling in rage.
