·Chapter 5922 Nov"I heard Red Skull didn't hesitate to drop a high-yield nuke on the Hulk in the beginning, but it's a shame he wasn't killed."
Jamie shivered, as if recalling a terrifying memory from the past. His face turned pale, and he instinctively closed his eyes, a trace of fear etched across his features.
Wanda frowned and stepped forward. "Why do you say that?"
After all, Dr. Banner was an Avenger. Surviving the first wave of attacks was surely a good thing, right? Did this doppelganger want Banner dead because he was a bad guy? Or was there something more behind his reaction?
Jamie opened his eyes, his expression bitter. "Because Banner didn't die that day. But he was gravely injured. Some say his brain burned from the nuclear radiation, and he became... a complete monster."
"You sound monstrous enough already," Pietro interjected coldly. "Once an X-Man, now reduced to a thug and a gangster."
Jamie ignored him and continued, his lips trembling. "After waking up from the nuclear explosion, the Hulk rushed to save his cousin, She-Hulk."
Pietro nodded approvingly. That sounded like the actions of a hero.
Jamie sneered. "Then he fell in love with her."
The group collectively froze, processing what they had just heard.
"Yes, you heard me right. Banner fell in love with She-Hulk. According to him, she's the only one in the world who could tolerate him." Jamie smirked. "In the years that followed, they worked like maniacs, creating a Hulk Gang that grew to thousands strong. Each of their offspring inherited their abilities—and their personalities are just as vile."
He paused, his voice thick with disdain. "Eventually, these brats began to overpopulate. President Skull was so terrified, he ceded the entire western United States to Banner and begged him to act as the local landlord to keep his 'children' in check."
The group stared at Jamie in stunned silence, struggling to absorb the absurdity of his explanation.
Jamie chuckled bitterly. "Since then, this has been my life. Every Jamie who dared to stand up to the Hulk Gang was crushed. They've made it clear who rules this wasteland."
Everyone except Adrian seemed perplexed, grappling with the bizarre details. Then again, having just escaped a universe overrun by superpowered zombies, this story didn't seem entirely implausible.
Frank, who had been silent for most of Jamie's tirade, finally spoke. "So how did the Punisher die?"
Jamie shrugged nonchalantly. "Oh, Kraven the Hunter took him out, or so they say. Some claim he's still alive, but I doubt it."
"And what about Wanda and Pietro Maximoff?" Pietro asked, his voice even.
Jamie hesitated, then continued, "One of them was killed by Magneto. The other had their legs shattered by the Sandman before Atlas finished them off."
Silence blanketed the group. Pietro finally broke it with a bitter laugh. "Well, I suppose that's better than being eaten by zombies."
Jamie froze, his heart pounding in his chest. We? He glanced at the group again, panic setting in as recognition dawned.
A silver-haired man in a blue suit with lightning patterns. A muscular man with a skull emblem on his chest. A red-haired woman clad in crimson robes. And a man whose identity eluded him for now.
The truth struck him like lightning. "Quicksilver, Punisher, and Scarlet Witch," he murmured.
Before Jamie could utter another word, Adrian stepped forward, pressing the barrel of his gun against Jamie's forehead.
"Is there anything else you want to know?" Adrian asked his companions without looking back.
Frank shook his head. Wanda and Pietro followed suit, signaling they had no further questions.
Jamie, trembling with fear, pleaded, "Wait! I swear I won't tell the Red Skull—"
The gunshot echoed through the canyon, cutting his words short. Blood sprayed into the air as Jamie's body crumpled to the ground, lifeless.
Adrian holstered his gun and turned to the others. "So, do any of you have a plan for this world?"
Frank answered without hesitation. "Kill every last scumbag in the wasteland."
"This world is even worse than the one we left behind," Pietro muttered, shaking his head.
Wanda looked between them and said softly, "We failed to protect the civilians in our universe. I don't want to let the people here suffer the same fate."
Adrian nodded thoughtfully. "Good. Let's head to Canada."
The others exchanged puzzled glances. Adrian's decision seemed random. They'd been operating in the U.S., and none of them knew much about Canada.
Frank furrowed his brows, his confusion evident. "Why Canada?"
Adrian spread out the map Jamie had been carrying and gestured for them to gather around. "Building a teleporter requires materials, energy, and tech—all of which are controlled by the warlords ruling this wasteland. If we want to leave, we'll have to take the fight to them."
"But the second we draw attention to ourselves, Red Skull will rally every villain to crush us. One Hulk Gang alone would be enough to overwhelm us."
He paused, then added, "Even if we choose to live quietly, we'd never truly be left alone. Logan's been in hiding for decades, and his life hasn't been easy."
"Logan's alive in this universe?" Pietro asked.
Adrian nodded. "Yes, but that's not the point. What matters is that I have a plan."
He pointed to Hulk Land on the map, then slid his finger to a marked location in the Rocky Mountains of Canada.
