Lucian couldn't help but sigh as he knelt down to the little girl in front of him.
Even though his first instinct was to ignore her, given that she was a red flag for the original story's Lucian, seeing her in that state gave him second thoughts.
He knew how a traumatic experience could stick with a kid, and he didn't want to be the one responsible for what came next.
If he really thought about it, he was a variable in this situation.
Because of him, she had come outside and ended up facing the monster. So he was already changing the original plots and even creating butterfly effects.
Not that he can completely ignore making or doing anything to avoid a butterfly effect; the best he could do would be to avoid major plots.
And definitely, consoling a 3-year-old child was not part of that major plot.
He ruffled her hair, trying to convey how grateful he was for her bravery in the middle of this mess.
