Rodion and the prince simultaneously looked in the old man's direction. He was already drunk, his cheeks red. Without hesitation, he stamped his foot on his chair and belted out a song. The song was unfamiliar to Rodion but he found the old song charming. His voice was rough and a bit off-key, but customers in the tavern cheered him up. It encouraged the old as he sang the lively song louder and with passion, clapping his hands as he did.
Prince Nikolai grinned as he watched, eating his meal while slightly nodding in time with the song as he listened.
"This is why I love this kind of place." He said to Rodion with a soft laugh.
Rodion couldn't help but smile. The place certainly had a joyous atmosphere. The other customers stood up from their seats and abandoned their meals as they began to sing along with the drunk old man.
