"Hey, Azurie, what are you doing over here?" I asked warily.
Because if I was completely honest. I had forgotten about the whole, pretend like we're dating, thing. I've just been doing what I've always been doing. Which isn't enough for this to work.
"What? Can't I eat lunch with my boyfriend?" She asked with a finger to her lips. "Aww, don't tell me you forgot about me."
"Ew." Slipped my mouth without even realizing.
"You said that out loud." Toshi whispered with a little nudge to my side.
I mean, how else was I supposed to react? What is this forced cuteness coming from her? The Azurie I knew wasn't like this. If this is how she plans to act during this fake relationship I'm going to die.
Azurie slipped into the open seat beside me without anyone inviting her to sit with us. Then began to just smile as she leaned her head on my shoulder. Making me curse the very day I was born.
"So what were we talking about again?" I asked trying to change the subject.
"Just how you were flirting with me even though you have a girlfriend." Hoshi said with a smug look on her face.
This was far too annoying. Not only did I have Azurie here being a pain but Hoshi was capitalizing on it. Swapping the power dynamic almost instantly.
"Dazai, I'm going to kill your sister." I declared with a flat tone of voice.
"Hey, hey, it's okay." Azurie butted in whilst patting my chest. "I'm sure it was just a misunderstanding. Sosuke, probably was just trying to compliment you and it came out wrong. He's always been bad at displaying his emotions."
What the hell is with this new personality switch? Where did the motherly attitude come from? This is almost reminding me of… No it's probably better not to even think her name. I might summon her.
Hoshi, looked at us with wide eyes, having not expected the mature response from Azurie. Meanwhile the boys were barely containing their laughter. I could tell it was bad when Toshi took off his glasses as he hunched over. Just how badly did these losers want to laugh at me right now? Dazai was literally crying from holding back.
I looked over at my side and saw a guy just standing there. A look of pure horror plastered on his face. His tray slipped out of his hands and it came clattering down to the ground.
"T-this can't be… Our goddess…" The moment those words of disbelief left his mouth my stomach dropped.
Heads turned and I could see a few more guys slowly approach with the same looks on their faces. I turned my head, inch by agonizing inch, until I was looking over at Tomori. A wicked smile on his face and a gleam in his eye.
"Quest one. Survive the cults." He announced before disappearing.
Azurie wrapped her arms around my waist and held me tightly. "What's wrong with you guys? I'm just eating lunch with my boyfriend." She said back to being cute personality.
The guys wailed out as if they had physically been hit by her words. Holding one another like they were mourning a loss.
"How dare you, you Villian." One of them shouted with an accusatory finger pointed at me.
"You dare defile our sacred goddess?" A second one shouted as well.
Wow, these guys are gross. But I couldn't help but feel disappointed looking at them. I was prepared for them to be some scary little cult. These guys were just sad and pathetic.
"How dare you call him a villain."
I looked over to behind me to see who spoke up. To see another mob but of girls defending me.
"That wench tainted our holy grail! She's ruined it, ruined all of our hard work and faith. Now all of our boys love manga will have gone to waste." One of the girls in the front shouted at the boys.
"Um, excuse me." I spoke up getting the girls attention. "What do you mean by BL Manga?" I asked genuinely concerned about what answer they might give me.
Every single one of the girls pulled out a manga that looked professionally printed and drawn. Each of them with either, me and Dazai, Toshi and Dazai, me and Toshi, or all three of us on the cover.
I immediately pulled myself out of Azurie's arms and got up. I walked over to the closest girl and snatched the manga from her. Which had Dazai and I on the cover. I flipped through the pages, my thoughts in a spin, and feeling nauseous when I got to the steamy parts.
"Wow, this is really good. Who drew this?" I finally spoke up, still flipping through the pages.
"I did." One of the girls in the back proudly raised their hand.
"Great job and am I flattered. You drew it and you drew it big." I said nodding my head in approval as I could visibly see her swoon. "I want to see that one too. The one with Dazai and Toshi."
"The hell are you doing, man?" Dazai shouted trying to get me to stop.
But as I flipped through the pages of this one as well. I couldn't help but grin and chuckle to myself.
"Oh, they got a pretty good depiction of you, Dazai. You're a bottom in all of these."
"Let me see one of them." Toshi joined in.
The girls squealed and eagerly showed us the fruits of their labor. Going into copious, and I mean copious, amounts of detail about their decisions. From sizes, positions, story, locations, amount of spice. The girls were fanatics.
"I'm so happy Sosuke liked my work. I'm so happy I could die. Catch me." Without warning the girl ran up through the crowd and jumped at me.
I caught her in a bridal carry as she nuzzled her face in the crook of my neck. Inhaling deeply as if my scent was somehow intoxicating.
"Yup, you did a very good job. I'm so very proud of you. Your art is amazing and you even went out of your way to flatter me in it. You'll make a phenomenal artist one day and I'm honored to be your work of art."
Her face lit up with every word that I spoke until she fainted in my arms.
