Alpha Kade's POV
I slammed the heavy wooden door of my chamber behind me, the force sending an echo through the palace halls. My beta lingered outside, smart enough to stay put. I didn't want anyone in here right now. The only company I needed was my rage.
The room was dark, not because I preferred it that way, but because I couldn't be bothered to light the lamps. I stormed across the chamber, my boots grinding against the stone floor, and snatched up the closest thing within reach—a silver goblet, polished to a shine. With a growl, I hurled it at the wall. The satisfying clang and the way it dented brought a fleeting moment of relief. Next, my hands found the edge of the table, loaded with maps and scrolls. I flipped it over without a second thought, the contents scattering like leaves in a storm.
"Selena," I spat, her name tasting like poison on my tongue. "That lying, scheming witch."
