"Knock, knock!"
Peter Parker groans as he twists in his bed, away from the door.
"Peter!" His sister calls out to him.
"Knock, knock, knock!"
The boy curls into himself and presses the end of his pillow against his exposed ear.
"Peter!~"
It didn't help much.
The preteen moans, he lets the pillow go and sits up, his blanket falling off his bare torso, "What?!" He asks with irritation.
His door swings open and Teresa Parker marches into his room, her bare feet slapping against the wooden floor before jumping in his bed with an excited gleam in her eyes, holding her phone in hand.
The girl is wearing Batgirl pajamas; the shirt and pants are gray with the pants having a pale purple almost pink accent while the shirt sleeves sharing the same color. The pants have gold and bright pink bat symbols while the shirt has a large gold symbol with a black oval behind it.
"You were there, right?!" She shows the picture of his alter ego, the Human Spider, "At Times Square, right?! I can't believe you got to see him! The pictures and video you took were amazing! Do you have more, can I see them?!"
Peter blinks and snorts, he ruffles his sister's hair, "I wasn't actually there, I was testing a drone I made and happened to catch the Human Spider and no, I don't have any more footage."
Teresa pouts and flops down, "Ah, that sucks." She turns on her side and stares up at the older boy with a deadpan stare. "And Human Spider really? You're such a dork."
The genius sputters, "Wha‐ what exactly was I supposed to name him? He can wallcrawl and can spin webs, he's a human spider!"
The girl shakes her head, "Yeah but it doesn't really roll off the tongue, ya know? Like, like, oh! Webweaver or… or Webslinger! Now that's a superhero name!" She sits up with excitement.
"Superhero?" Peter snorts and pushes himself off the bed, "Te, he isn't a superhero, this isn't a comic book."
"You sure?" She asks dubiously, turning to look at her brother who sits at the computer chair, "I mean he has superpowers, like real superpowers, it seems kind of a waste not to use them to help people right?"
"Just because he has powers doesn't mean he has a, a duty to put his life at risk for complete strangers. I mean he probably has no training, no real grasp on criminology, just because he has superpowers doesn't mean he can… can just start roaming the city looking for crime to stop."
Teresa pouts, "I guess, I mean he's no Batman, right?"
"Right." The genius nods.
"Hey, what were those things on his wrists? It looked like his webs came out of them."
Peter pretends to think about it, "Well real spiders can't shoot out their webbing like the Human Spider, they may be acting as pseudo grappling hooks, allowing his webs to be pushed out at high speeds so he can swing… if the webs are natural at all."
His sister's face twists in confusion, "You think they're fake?"
Smiling he leans in, "Well spider's don't shoot webs out of their wrists, Te."
Teresa's face scrunches up in disgust, "I see your point."
Laughing he stands back up and gives the girl a hug, kissing the top of her head, "You know I recently came into some money, why don't we go out and get some breakfast?" He asks, lets her go. "And after, let's go shopping."
"Oh yeah, Miles told me he had to pay to get further into your blog." Teresa pushes herself off his bed. "By the way Miles said you suck, he couldn't download the video, he had to video call me!"
Peter rolls his eyes, "That's kind of the point, I need to make money and if people can just share the video that I don't get paid."
"Pfft!" She blows a raspberry, "Whatever."
"Anyway, I'm going to need to borrow your phone."
His sister snorts, "That's what happens when you have a flip phone instead of a real phone." She hands the device over and her brother.
Peter swipes the screen and finds the app store icon, clicking it he writes PayPal in the search bar. When it appears he downloads it.
~Spider-Man Evolution~
"No!"
Peter sighs as he listlessly stares at his sister who sits outside the changing room on a bench, bags filled with her new clothes beside her taking up the entire space.
The boy is wearing a pale blue button up dress shirt tucked into black slacks tightened with a mocha brown leather belt, and wing tip dress shoes that match the belt.
It wasn't much different from his previous style though he can admit that these clothes are of much better quality. Not only that but without his glasses, his thicker gel-free hair, and being a foot taller he looks much more distinguished.
"Listen Pete, oh brother of mine, I know you like the professional look but you're twelve years old, you're not uncle Ben, dress your age."
"Te, I'm about to be a doctor, dressing my age will get me laughed out of any lab I try to apply to."
Teresa rolls her eyes, "Okay, I get that but you don't have to dress like an old man twenty four seven."
"Alright, alright. Why don't you pick out some clothes that you think will suit me and I'll give them a try but please nothing kiddy."
Teresa jumps up, "You got it." She skips out of the waiting area of the dressing room and Peter steps back in the changing closet, closing the curtain as he does.
He removes the clothes, placing them on hangers before placing them on a hook with the other clothes he picked out. After the boy puts on green cotton shorts, a blue hoodie, and Ben's suede boots.
Pushing the curtain away he walks out of the closet and sits in Teresa's old spot. He lays his head against the wall and waits.
"Beep! Beep!"
Peter pulls his phone out of his pocket and flips it open seeing a message from Harry.
Hey Pete! Can we set up a session for tomorrow, after school? Around four?
Peter smiles and answers.
Sure sounds good, man.
He waits for a moment and Harry texts back.
Can't wait, I've been reviewing my notes and oof, I forgot, like, almost everything.
The two boys continue to text back and forth, nothing of real depth but it starved off Peter's boredom.
"Hey, Pete!"
Peter looks up from his phone and sees his sister pushing a cart filled with clothes. Rolling his eyes he closes his phone and pockets it before standing up.
He walks over and looks over the outfits, Teresa standing beside him with nervous excitement.
He pulls a burnt orange thick long sleeve cotton shirt, it feels so soft like a cloud that he already loves. The boy spots two identical looking tops in different colors.
Frankly looking over the rest of the clothes his sister picked out for him he can't say he doesn't like any of the choices.
There's definitely nothing he's ever worn before but… "Alright."
Teresa squeals and hugs him tightly, he chuckles patting her head.
"Yeah!"
"Let me grab the clothes I picked and I can pay. Afterwards, let's get some lunch." He steps towards the closet he was using and grabs the items he picked out, stepping back out he places them in the cart.
Teresa buzzes in excitement, "Best day ever!"
Peter rolls his eyes and begins pushing the cart out of the waiting room into the main store.
"Can we get some burgers?" She circles her arms around her brother's as they walk.
"Of course."
~Spider-Man Evolution~
Ben Parker smiles happily as he eats his wife's meal at the dining table, while one hand brings the food into his mouth the other held onto her's, his thumb rubbing the back of her hand.
He hears the door open and the two look up and see their niece and nephew walk through, both of them carrying arm full of bags.
"Aunt May! Uncle Ben!" Teresa runs towards them with a large smile, "Look what Peter got me!" She sets the bags down on a chair used for the table and begins pulling out tops, skirts, pants, and shoes.
Both adults look in astonishment, "They look really beautiful but…" They look towards Peter who has set his bags on the couch before walking over to them with a grin.
"You're probably wondering how I paid for everything?"
Ben nods with a forming frown.
"Yesterday I managed to capture footage of the first superhuman!" The boy reveals, "I set up a blog with a paywall for the footage and thousands of people signed up."
May Parker looks taken aback, "Superhuman? Peter, what are you talking about?"
Ben looks equally doubtful as his wife.
Teresa looks shocked, "Have you guys not checked the news? Last night a guy was seen clinging to New Fondation's highest screen like a bug before leaping off and spinning a web to swing away! That's all anyone is talking about!"
The man blinks, his jaw dropping at what he's hearing while May covers her mouth in disbelief, "And Peter caught it?"
The girl nods, "He has the only clear footage of it! I wouldn't be surprised if half of New York subscribed to his website!"
Peter chuckles, "We aren't there yet but maybe one day."
"How… how much did you make?" The love of Ben's life asks.
His boy grins, "Twenty thousand dollars."
Even Teresa jolts at the revelation.
"Twen… twen…" Ben huffs in astonishment.
"Yeah, amazing right! Looks like I'll be contributing much sooner than you thought." He smirks and sits at the only available seat. "In that vein can you give me your bank details to send you the money."
The older man opens and closes his mouth, multiple times before finally finding his words, "Yo…you don't have to, soldier. You earned that mon–"
Peter reaches over and grabs his hand, "Come on Ben, don't make me beg. You took me in, took care of me, paid for my degree." His face twists in a deserpation the man's only seen a few times before. "Let me take some of your burdens, like… like a good son."
May flutters her eyes as wetness appears.
Teresa can't seem to find anything to add, she looks off to the side in uncomfortableness.
Ben grips his nephew's palm, "Are you sure?"
The genius laughs and nods, "Of course I'm sure."
"Alright." He agrees with a wobbly voice, "Thank you, kid."
"Thank you Peter, you… you have no idea what this means to us." May wipes her eyes and stands up, she walks around the table before wrapping her arms around the boy.
Ben leans over and circling his own strong arms around them.
The girl is still off to the side rubbing her arm.
The three separate, all smiling at each other.
"We should celebrate this good fortune." The woman states, "I assume you two already ate?"
Teresa nods shyly.
"Yep."
"Then why don't we get some desert?"
The retired marine grins and stands up, "Sounds good. Peter's obviously paying." He tussles his nephew's head.
Peter rolls his eyes, "Obviously."
"I'm actually full." Teresa calls out, "You guys can go on without me, I wanna take a nap."
The boy stands up, chuckling, "You did eat like a horse."
Peter's sister huffs, "Whatever dork."
"Te!" The retired marine barks.
His niece flinches and looks down, fisting the bottom of her shirt.
"You kno–" He continues only for Peter don't wave him off.
"Come on Ben, she's just teasing me." The preteen defends her, "Like annoying little siblings love to do."
May giggles, "He's got a point, Superman." She leans on the man's shoulder. "Richard loved messing with you."
Ben sighs.
Peter bends down and kisses her forehead, "I hope you have a good nap, squirt."
Teresa huffs before smiling, "I'll try." She grabs her bags and walks up the stairs, before strolling up the second flight of stairs she turns to the three of them. "Love you, guys."
As she vanishes from sight Ben turns to the boy and pats his shoulder, "Ready to get that Ice cream?"
The genius nods, "You betcha."
"What are you going to get? I'm thinking cherry." May says as the three of them walk to the front door.
"Mint chocolate chip." Peter hums in thought.
"I'm thinking of getting cinnamon." The man replies as he opens the door and holds it open for the other two, as they walk out he follows, closing the door behind him.
The walk to the closest ice cream shop wasn't a long one and luckily not many people were there, so they almost immediately got their treats.
Ben sees Peter's nose twitch and his face twist in brief disgust, "Everything okay?"
The boy swallows, "Yeah, I guess It's been a while since I had mint ice cream." He looks up at him with a helpless shrug.
His nephew walks back up to the counter and orders something else, the man looks to his wife who shrugs.
"People's tastes change."
When Peter gets another cup of ice cream, this time strawberry, he pays for it with his sister's phone and the three take a seat at an empty booth, near the large panel window that allows people to look in.
"So good." The woman hums in delight as she scoops a chunk of her desert in her mouth.
"Yep!"
Ben grunts in agreement, "Today is a good day."
"The best." Peter agrees readily.
~Spider-Man Evolution~
Harry Osborn groans as he sits up from his bed, he wipes the grim out of his eyes with closed fists before pushing himself out of bed. When his feet hit the ground he drops onto his hands and begins doing push-ups before switching to sit-ups and then finally squats.
As he stands back up and stretches, he sees his smart phone on the bedside table corner light blink. Grabbing it and turning it on a notification bar shows that spidernest had updated.
Harry grins and sits, entering the passcode he clicks on the bar and is sent to his email, clicking the link in the email he's sent to the website.
A new picture is on the homepage and his eyes widen as he realizes that Peter is hanging from the antenna of the Empire State Building. Behind the boy is the cityscape of New York which looks like a star filled night sky, it's absolutely breathtaking.
He quickly finds the associated video and plays it.
Peter turns to the drone, "You know I saw your blog, gotta say I'm flattered, though creeped out."
Harry snorts, if he wasn't certain before then he is now. That's Peter's voice if muffled by the mask.
"Though I get it, I'm… what you'd call me again? The… Human Spider, right? Really strained your brain for that one didn't ya, though to be fair I didn't have anything lined up so I can live with it."
Laughing, the teen can't help the smile that spreads, 'Laying it a bit thick ain't you, Pete.'
"If you want I'm willing to do an interview for, let's say eighty percent?" The super human giggles to himself, "I'll have my people call your people, alright?" He takes a shaky breath before tensing and leaping off the antenna into a nosedive. "YEEHA!"
Harry can't help but lean forward, the drone doesn't move, simply zooming in as on the boy who screams with exhilaration and clear joy.
It almost looks like he's flying into the sky.
He positions himself belly first and raises their left arm and shoots out a webline, the teen can't see where it landed but it does clearly land because he disappears in a blur.
The video ends and Harry can't help the laugh that bubbles out, "This kid is fucking crazy."
The teen shakes his hand and places his phone screen down on his bed as he walks to his bathroom, he needs to get ready for school.
It doesn't take him long and by the time he's traveling down the elevator and out of the parking garage of his luxury apartment building his mind is filled with ways to get Peter to tell him he's the Human Spider.
Also coming up with better names because the Human Spider certainly isn't cutting it.
He finds his naked jade accent motorcycle and climbs on, taking out his key he places it in the ignition and revs it up. He places his helmet, the same shade as the accents of his bike, on before backing out of his parking place.
He drives out of the garage into the streets of Queens.
Peter is an interesting kid and not just because he may be a marvel or meliorate, not even because of his intelligence but because despite being cut from a much better cloth than those around him all he wants is to have a friend, to be liked, to be respected.
A dangerous mindset to have when you have so much power.
Harry would like to be that friend. Help the kid onto his way of greatness and maybe find his way there too.
He doesn't want to ride off his father's coattails forever and even if he did he's positive the man wouldn't let him. No, eventually he's going to have to stand on his own two feet but nobody ever said he couldn't get some support, right?
As he drives into the parking lot of Midtown highschool, he twists his key out of the ignition before pulling his helmet off. The teen swings off the bike and begins walking into the double doors of the building.
As he does he notices something immediately off, none of them are paying him any attention. Which is a first, usually he'd have people walk up to him with their fist or hand raised, nodding to him in acknowledgment, or straight assaulting his ears with insistent chatter but everyone was off in their own little clicks with their phones out talking excitedly with one another.
He tries to pick up some of it but he only catches bits and pieces.
"‐awesome!"
"He's so‐"
"Pet-"
"-believe this-"
"Human Spider-"
"Lame! The guy-"
Harry shakes his head, of course everyone would be talking about Peter. What did he expect?
Walking to his first period, he enters the practically empty classroom and sits in the back, setting his helmet between his feet, waiting for the nightmare to begin.
"No, no! I get it Gwen, it's crazy that little creep is famous now all because he managed to snag a few photos and videos of that spider guy."
Harry looks towards the girl talking on her phone with furlong eyebrows, she's the freshman who managed to get into biology two that's usually reserved for juniors; Cindy… something.
She giggles, "Yeah Spider guy is a lot better than the Human Spider. He has no imagination but what do you expect from someone who can't wrap their little head around the fact that you and he were never going to happen?" Shaking her head, the girl continues. "What did he expect to happen anyway? That after years of following you around like a love sick puppy you would one day realize your true ~feelings~ and confess your undying love for him? " Snorting, her body shakes at the thought.
The boy frowns, 'So Peter had a crush on some girl named Gwen, they were friends, pretty close friends before she realized he had feelings for her and cut him off?'
"Anyway, how's that original song coming along? I'm really excited to hear it!"
Harry tunes out the rest of her drabble as he thinks about what he just learned. He can't really imagine Peter as some Nice Guy. Especially at, what, ten?
Cindy was saying they had been friends much longer than that and no one that young starts a friendship with the end goal of dating that person. No, maybe he had inklings' but he probably didn't like her in that way, not yet.'
The rich teen places his left elbow on the desk and rests his chin on the palm of his hand.
'She called him a creep, so he must have done something or she heard he'd done something to warrant that. Cindy is a pretty girl and pretty girl's hang out with other pretty girls so Gwen probably had a boyfriend, a boyfriend threatened by Peter, by his close relationship with Gwen and by his genius. This boyfriend said something, which destroyed the relationship between the two, it could be what caused his trauma or amplified it. Either way… If I can get him to unload that onto me then our friendship will solidify.' Harry smiles at his conclusion.
~Spider-Man Evolution~
Peter taps his foot as he waits for the private elevator to reach Harry's apartment thinking about what his next video should be.
He thought he may have gone overboard with jumping off the Empire State Building, going too far too soon but well, for one, he really wanted to and two, it was guaranteed to get more people to subscribe.
Which worked.
The two thousand subscribers tripled, doubling his profits like nothing.
He needs the trend to continue, for Ben and May.
The elevator doors slide open and he sees Harry waiting for him.
The teen's eyes widen in surprise before a wide smile takes over his face, "Looking good, Pete."
Peter huffs and gives a smile of his own.
The boy is wearing a burnt orange cotton long sleeve shirt with acid wash skinny blue jeans and high top red suede sneakers. The only thing that similar from the last time they met was the computer bag hanging from his shoulder.
"Not looking so bad yourself, Har."
The taller boy scoffs, "I always look good."
Peter can't really deny that.
He looks like a teen model with perfectly slicked back hair and wearing white jeans with a loose black shirt with a motorcycle racing leather jacket the same shade along with brown sneaker boots.
The two boys laugh and head to the dining area and pick up where they left off the last tutoring sessions.
The genius reviews with his friend first, going over the notes of what he taught yesterday, he then answers any questions his student had.
Which was many.
After that the genius moves on, the lesson was just as difficult as the first one with him now talking about the sperm cell's life cycle and its role in reproduction.
Harry can't help the small blush dusting his cheeks, feeling surreal at how much this kid knew.
After about an hour or so the two decided to call it quits, Peter was reviewing the teens notes nodding his along as he read.
"Good. I'll make a mock exam for you to take for our next session, make sure you review and we'll take it from there."
Harry nods with tired eyes, "Thanks Pete, I gotta say, you've… you've been a good friend."
Peter blushes, "Oh… I, well I… I try." He smiles warmly.
The rich boy hums, "You do, most people think that you don't have to, that relationships, especially meaningful ones, don't need any work but I couldn't disagree more. Those are the ones you should be pouring your whole heart into, right?" The older boy implores and gets a hesitant nod in response.
"I… yeah, yeah I agree. My aunt and uncle would agree with you too."
"I know this might be a weird thing to say but I… I kind of think of you as my best friend." He admits with an awkward look on his face, not paying attention to the wide-eyed look of the other boy, "You've done more for me in the last couple days than anyone has in the last couple of years."
The sad part of that statement was that it was true.
Norman had all but disowned him and his mother was dead, the teachers had stopped trying with him and all his friends, if he can even call them that, were just as stupid as him.
"I… really." Peter's voice becomes small, "I mean I'm weird, aren't I? I'm not very good in social situations, and–"
"You're not weird Pete, your passionate. You know what you love and you run after it." He places a hand on the preteen's shoulder, squeezing it, "You know you're the first person I've… I've really connected with, in a while."
"Yeah?"
Harry nods, he pretends to hesitate for a few moments before continuing, "I had this friend, she was… was my best friend, I thought we would be together forever but then she… well she got a boyfriend and he said things to her," He sees the boy's eyes widen before darting to the ground, his chest heaving in distress. "Told her that I was picking fights with him, trying to scare him off but–"
"But you didn't." Peter says resolutely, fisting his hands tightly, "You didn't but she didn't believe you, despite you being friends for you entire life! She didn't even give you a chance to explain, to tell you the truth!" He grits his teeth, a scowl twisting his face.
The teen puts a look of shock on his face, "You… you've been through something similar?"
The boy sniffs and sighs, "I… yeah… I had a friend too, she was my… everything." He mutters. "The only person who would look my way, who was kind to me, who didn't make fun of the orphan boy who was too smart for his own good but…" Tears start gathering in his eyes.
Harry squeezes the kid's shoulder in a show of support, "You can tell me, I'll believe you."
Peter breathes out a harsh laugh before taking a breath, "She got a boyfriend, he didn't like me, I tried so hard to be friends with him but no matter what I did it just didn't work. He hurt me, humiliated me every chance he got, I know I should've told her but she was so happy." He looks up to him with deserpation. "She was so happy with him Harry, how could I ruin that for her?"
The rich kid says nothing, just nods along.
"One day I heard his friends thanking him for sending them… them pictures of her."
Harry began to see where this was going.
"I… couldn't believe it you know, no matter how bad he was to me they seemed good together. I confronted him and told him that if he loved her he would get his friends to delete her pictures but he just laughed and said he didn't love her, that he just wanted to lose his virginity and she seemed like the easiest girl to take it. Said after… after he was done using her, I, I could have his sloppy seconds."
The teen winces, 'Fucking wow.'
"The next thing I remember after I stopped seeing red was the two of us being pulled apart and him telling everyone I was a crazy stalker, that I was mad that she chose him over me. Gwen believed him, everyone believed him. I tried to tell Gwen the truth but she kept turning me away. She… she said some hurtful things after I wouldn't leave her alone, I tried to go to her friends but they just thought I was a creep and wouldn't give me the time of day. I went to Gwen's dad but he yelled at me, told me how disappointed he was in me and that if I didn't leave he would file a restraining order. Ben and May believed me but that didn't matter much."
Harry closes his eyes, 'Damn, what a fucked up situation… but then why do they still think of Peter as a creep? Nudes don't usually stay private after being shared, they would have to know where they came from and that Peter was telling the truth, unless he never got that far but I don't see that happening. So why do they still hate him? Peter must have done something to stop the guy from spreading them but what?'
His face twists in mock rage, "God, why do these guys always have to win? I just… I wish just once they would get what's coming to them, ya know?"
Peter hums in agreement, "I do, I get what you mean… I… thought that would be the end of it but then Flash-"
'Flash? Flash Thompson, the second string quarterback.' The other boy smirks at the information, 'God that brat has been annoying me to high heaven, this is good blackmail.'
"-He followed me into the bathroom, started taunting me. He told me how… how far along he and Gwen had gotten, showed me a picture of her sucking his-" Peter swallows, disgust flashing across his face, "Bragged about sending it to all his buddies. I knew it would continue to escalate, that eventually it would spread across the school and Gwen's life would be over. She was doing so well Harry, people really liked her, despite her being my friend and this… this asshole was going to ruin it, ruin her! I realized I was alone." His voice grew hollow, "Then I realized I was alone, that no one else was in the bathroom, just me and him, so I did the only thing I could think of… the only thing that made sense. I smashed my head against the mirror and then the sink and then I screamed."
Harry's eyes widened, 'Not where I expected this to go.'
"Teachers came in and saw the mess I made and I blamed it all on Flash. May and Ben were livid, though I appealed to their righteousness, their unending mercy and managed to convince them to let Flash visit me. Away from any adults I threatened him, blackmailed him, and like I hoped, he caved. He gave me his phone and in the following weeks I managed to track the data trail of Gwen's photos before sending a zip bomb." Hanging his head, he sighs in relief feeling as if the sky itself had lifted off his shoulders.
"Dude…"
Peter waits for the venom, for disgust. He knows he took it too far; he injured himself, framed another person for it, manipulated dozens of people, including his aunt and uncle to blackmail that person before stealing from them and then creating a malicious piece of malware that destroyed half a dozen people's property.
He doesn't regret it, not for a second but he knows it's not normal, that he's not normal. Normal people don't go as far as he did.
Normal people don't feel as good as he did when they see the fear in another person's eyes and know they're the ones that caused it.
"You're amazing."
Peter's head snaps up, eyes full of shock and sees Harry smiling widely at him.
"if you did all that for someone who threw you to the side I can't imagine what you'd do for someone like Ben or May."
'Anything, I would do anything.' Peter thinks to himself.
"Gwen was really lucky to have you by her side." Harry says earnestly, "I'm lucky to have you by my side."
The kid shoots up and embraces the teen, "Thank you." He desperately tries not to cry but he's fighting a losing battle.
The older boy laughs and pats his back, "You don't have to thank me, you never have to thank me for being your best friend."
Peter shakes, he feels something itch at the back of his throat, an indescribable desire to trust the other boy with one more secret but… but…
"You can tell me anything Pete, I would never ever judge you. Like I know you would never ever judge me."
"I'm the Human Spider!" He shouts and freezes.
Harry continues to pat his back, "Yeah, I know."
The young genius blinks at the retort and looks up, "Wha…"
"You made it really obvious, dude." He shakes his head, "I mean come on, you grow a foot overnight, you eyes practically glow, and your muscles feel like fucking steel." Pulling away, he leans back in his chair. "Not only that but you created a blog literally an hour after the first sighting of the Human Spider, horrible name by the way, with a whole essay attached to it."
Peter's face goes slack, "I mean…" Before placing his head in his palms. "Fuck was it really that obvious."
"I mean, kind of."
"Oof." Slumping into himself, he peaks between his fingers and looks at his friend, "You… you don't think it's… freaky what I can do?"
His friend snorts, "Dude, I think you're spectacular."
Peter blushes, "Yeah?"
"Sensational really."
"Haha, okay. Alright." He waves the other off and sits up straight, "Now you're just inflating my ego."
"Your name needs work though."
The boy groans, "Fuck off!"
The other laughs, "How about… Spiderman?"
"That's basically my name already."
Harry shakes his head, "It really isn't. The Human Spider just makes people think you're some weird hybrid spider creature-"
"Which I am."
"-Spiderman gives off superhero vibes, like Batman or Superman. I think it'll really get people to like you."
The genius looks doubtful but nods, "Alright, I don't really care either way."
The older boy just smiles, "You know every public figure needs a public relations specialist." He hints.
Peter gives him a strange look, "I'm not really a public figure though."
"Not yet but if things keep going the way they are you will be."
The kid takes a minute to think about it before nodding, "Sure, I mean it wouldn't hurt, right?"
Harry's smile widens, revealing all his teeth.
