Synopsis
Luke Sared was an average kid. That all changed when he discovered his strange abilities and got introduced to Lazarus, an organization of mages that stops magical acts of terror, from being introduced to from being known to the general public. Before Luke’s training can even be finished, he gets blackmailed into investigating a strange orphanage called Angel Arms where a previous agent disappeared without a trace. Despite the name, the orphanage appears to be anything but angelic. In fact, it’s more demonic in nature. What initially starts off as a retrieval mission, quickly branches off into a sinister plan that if successful, would kill thousands of innocent people, if not millions. And all in the blink of an eye.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Bag of Sprinkles

Hello. Currently, I am writing this with a sprained ankle, cracked ribs, and my left arm coated in maggots to crunch at my dead skin from the burns as a result of the explosion. Oh yeah and I'm only 11. I should probably explain how got into this situation. It all started on February 1, 2000 something I do not remember specifically due to flechette rounds in my hippocampus. Anyway, I woke up on that day with an uncertain look. A look between happiness and Sadness. My happiness was obvious. Today was my 11th birthday and my mom said that she would give me a present that my present will change my life forever. Dad didnt give me anything, not because he didnt care or forgot, but because he knew that i would almost always lve my mom's gift over his, and hated the thought of a wasted effort. He preffered to give gifts to my sister, who conrastly rarely got gifts from mom.My mom would always give me the weirdest and coolest things. Last year she gave me a lava rock, the year before, a strange egg that radiated heat, and the year before that, a bunch of weird shirts like one that was cool; and by that I mean temperature. the shirt itself was pretty bland, and one that always felt suffocating, even though it always fit me, and other ones like that.

I frowned.there's a catch with the gifts. I had to routinely step on the rock to "build up my heat resistance" even though it was not even that hot where we lived, then again I had to plop charcoal into the egg, which I really should ask her about but every time I tried I would strangely fall asleep, and eventually I just kind of accepted it, and I would have to wear one of the 7 shirts, each month, no matter if they made me sick, were heavy, or made me get attacked by random animals, it didn't matter. I woke lazily stepped out of bed with a yawn. I ruffled my pitch-black hair and walked to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I looked at my reflection and groaned. I was wearing an orange shirt with red stripes. It was one of the 7 shirts and made me feel the calmest. It was hot to most people but made me feel perfectly warm at all times. It made me feel energetic and ready to take on the world. It sucks Id have to change it now. My hair was covered with sprinkles. At first, it confused me why but then I remembered...

Yesterday was my sister Clara's birthday. Since we were born just a day apart my parents would use half of the cake as my sister's and the other half as mine. Unfortunately, my dad would always cut it wrong and Clara would get the smaller piece every time, and it always infuriated her. It was pretty weird that's all it took to infuriate her. She always seemed joyful, and although unnaturally deductive, never tried to flaunt her intelligence...unlike a certain blonde asshole sitting in a different room from me.  I figured out that she probably took my bag of sprinkles and dumped them in my hair overnight. I put my head in front of the fountain and turned my head so that the water would touch my hair and not my ce. I began to count the sprinkles as they fell out and washed down the drain. (I lost count around 39 but there were probably way more) I turned the faucet off and reached for my toothbrush, which was almost broken in half. My hands must've still been wet because it fell right in the toilet. I was about to grab it but I couldn't help but feel like something bad would happen. I have a really big fear of water. It's not even the fear of drowning although that definitely helps it was just the water looks freaky to me for some reason. It looked too calm and with how it would always bob back and forth, almost like it was breathing. I looked in the cabinet and pulled out a nail clipper.

I reached inside the toilet and began to pull out the toothbrush. Just when it was almost out I heard the sound of rapid feet followed by the door swerving open revealing my mom in her pink dress covered in white polka dots. Her hair seemed frizzled and if looks could kill I'd be dead five times over from the glare she gave me. The second she arrived I forgot what I was doing and I tripped over my own feet and hit my head on the handle and with a loud gurgle the toilet flushed, sending both halves of toothbrush and dad's nail clipper down the toilet. My mom let out a long sigh before softly saying: "You overslept. School starts in 5 minutes" My eyes widened. I was not having a very good morning.
