He stepped down from the window then approached me, our bodies close. "What if I am jealous? What will you do?"
I was starting to get dizzy from our close proximity that I decided to back down away from him and hurriedly went for the door while saying, "Let's talk tomorrow you must be drunk, have a good rest."
However before I could pull the door open, he placed his hand against it, refusing me to leave. He was right behind me, his chest pressed against my back. I felt his warm breath on my skin, and my heart skipped a beat as I realized he was close enough to kiss me.
His hand released the door, and he wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me back against him. I felt his fingers dig into my skin, and I knew I was trapped.
"August? Release me now," I asked, trying to sound calm despite the fear creeping up my spine.
He leaned in closer, his lips brushing against my ear. "Why are you avoiding my question hmm?" he whispered. "What if I tell you I'm in love with you?"
"Every time you meet with him, my heart aches. When I see you smile at him, I wanted to erase that smile. That smile was only meant for me. Every laugh you share with him, my ears bleed. Your laughter is the only music that I wish to hear." He sniffed my neck deeply. "I wish I could k!ll him so you could stop doing those with him but I know it would only hurt you so I'm trying my best not to at least punch him."
I felt a shiver run down my spine as I processed his words. His breath was hot against my ear, and I could feel his lips trembling with emotion. I was taken aback by the intensity of his feelings, and I didn't know how to respond.
"Can you move away from me?" I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "You're not making any sense."
But he just pulled back slightly, his eyes burning with a fierce intensity. "I'm making perfect sense," he said, his voice low and husky. "I'm telling you how I feel. And I'm telling you that you're mine and I don't want to see you with him anymore."
And with that, he pulled me closer, his lips crashing against mine in a fierce and passionate kiss.
"I didn't know when it started but I love you. I love you Rina, my lovely empress," he said in between our kisses.
I tried to pull back, to break free from the kiss, but he held me tight, his arms wrapping around me like a vice. I was trapped, trapped in this vortex of emotions and desire.
And then, just as suddenly as it had started, the kiss stopped. He pulled back, his eyes blazing with intensity as he looked at me, "I was planning to confess to you these past few days but I was scared... that I'll be rejected by you, I'm sorry for kissing you so suddenly."
I was taken aback by his admission, my heart racing with a mix of emotions then I smiled at him, "I was planning to also confess to you but I was scared, just as you. I love you too, August."
He didn't say anything instead he only smiled at me with affection as he pulled me in for another kiss. This time, it was so passionate.
I felt my body lean into his, my hands tightening around his neck as I pulled him closer. I needed to be closer to him, to feel his skin against mine, to taste the sweetness of his mouth.
August's arms wrapped around me, holding me tight as if he never wanted to let me go. I felt his chest rise and fall against mine, his heartbeat syncing with mine as we kissed.
Time stood still as we lost ourselves in the moment. The world around us melted away, leaving only the two of us. I felt like I was drowning in the depth of his feelings, but I didn't care. I wanted to stay there forever, trapped in the whirlpool of our love.
As we finally broke apart for air, I looked up at August and saw that his eyes were still closed, his face still tilted towards mine. I smiled, feeling a sense of contentment wash over me.
"Wait, I forgot to give you something. I was going to give it to you earlier, but then... well, you know what happened." He presented a small box while having a sheepish look on his face.
I gasped in surprise as I lifted the lid of the box and saw the beautiful ruby necklace nestled inside. The deep red color of the rubies seemed to match the exact shade of my hair, and I felt a sense of wonder and magic wash over me.
"August, this is... it's stunning," I breathed, my eyes locked on the necklace. "Thank you."
August's face lit up with pride and happiness as he watched me take in the gift. "I'm glad you like it," he said, his voice filled with emotion. "I saw it and thought of you immediately. The rubies reminded me of your hair, and I knew I had to get it for you."
