Chapter 5 - Chapter 4

Asher stood by the stove, preparing a simple breakfast while listening to the familiar hum of the system's voice in his mind.

"System," Asher started, flipping a piece of bread, "you're like this mysterious presence in my head. How do you even exist?"

"I was born when you transmigrated to this world," the system replied in its neutral tone. "That's all I can say about my origin."

"Just... popped into existence because of me?" Asher asked, raising an eyebrow. "And do you have a name, or are you just called 'System'?"

"My designation is simply 'System,'" it responded smoothly. "But I am here to serve you, Host, so it's within your right to give me a name."

Asher pondered that, intrigued. "I'll think about it. You're more than just some regular program, aren't you?" he said with a hint of curiosity. "Is your purpose just to help me become a great daycare owner?"

The system paused, then responded, "No, my purpose is to assist my host with any ambitions or goals they carry. It was your own heart and mind that set this course of action. I sensed that you carried an unfulfilled wish to honor the legacy of your parents. This dream, along with the potential to become the most renowned daycare owner, is the best path for you."

Asher nodded, a sense of pride filling him as he thought about the road ahead. "Well, then, looks like we're in this together," he replied with a grin.

Just then, he felt a gentle nudge at his back. Turning around, he found Lunabloom, still half-asleep, standing beside him with a drowsy expression. "Good morning, Lunabloom," he said softly, amused by her adorable morning face.

He quickly placed a simple breakfast on the table: a fresh sandwich for himself, along with a glass of nutritious Morphix Milk for Lunabloom. The milk, rich in essential nutrients, was specially formulated for both Morphix and humans, ensuring they both stayed healthy and strong.

"Come on, Lunabloom," he encouraged gently as he guided her to the table.

As Lunabloom settled onto her chair, she let out a cheerful, "Luuunabloom!" in her unique Morphix voice, greeting Asher with an enthusiastic yet sleepy tone. Asher chuckled, giving her a gentle pat as they started their breakfast.

While they ate, Asher's curiosity got the better of him, and he began asking the system about its functions. "So, System, besides showing me Morphix information and helping me become a daycare owner, what else can you do?"

The system's voice responded promptly. "I have multiple functions to assist you, Host. First, there is the Personal Storage Space, a limitless storage with frozen time within, allowing you to safely keep items without worry of spoilage or clutter."

Asher's eyes widened in interest. "So, I can store as much as I want, and it won't decay or change over time?"

"Precisely," the system replied. "Next, I have a Quest Function. This feature will provide you with various tasks, each tailored toward your goal of becoming the world's most renowned daycare owner. These quests will appear at random, yet they will always align with your objectives. Quest difficulty will influence the rewards, which could range from items to functional upgrades."

"Interesting… What else?" Asher asked, taking a sip of water.

"Lastly, there is a Shop Function," the system continued. "Though currently unavailable, it will offer a range of items to support your journey. You will need to explore the shop on your own as it becomes accessible."

Just as the system finished its explanation, a notification popped up in Asher's mind:

Asher's heart skipped a beat as he read the quest details, feeling a mix of excitement and determination.

Lunabloom tilted her head, her big eyes filled with curiosity as she watched Asher talk animatedly to himself. At first, she thought he was speaking to her, but she quickly realized he was conversing with someone invisible. Her gaze darted around, searching for the source of the conversation.

Asher noticed Lunabloom's puzzled expression and chuckled, scratching her head affectionately. "It's just me talking to myself, Lunabloom. I'm thinking out loud about how to reopen the daycare," he explained. Hearing this made Lunabloom's eyes light up with excitement, and she let out a joyful "Luuunabloom!" in encouragement.

"How about you come with me to the Morphix Association?" Asher suggested, a smile spreading across his face. Lunabloom eagerly nodded, bouncing in her seat, her excitement palpable. With that, they set off together to the city.

As they walked to the bus stop, Lunabloom trotted beside Asher, her eyes scanning their surroundings. The travel time to the city was only about thirty minutes, and when they boarded the bus, they noticed a girl sitting with her Morphix beside her.

Asher smiled at the sight of the Dog Morphix beside the girl, finding joy in the bond they shared. Not wanting to intrude, he and Lunabloom quickly found an empty seat toward the back of the bus.

Some folks were engaged in animated conversations with their companions, while others sat at outdoor cafes, enjoying snacks with their Morphix by their side. The lively scene filled Asher with a sense of hope and determination, igniting his desire to create a similar atmosphere at his daycare.

"This is going to be amazing, Lunabloom," Asher said, stepping off the bus with renewed excitement. "Let's make our daycare a place just like this!"

Asher and Lunabloom strolled through the bustling city, taking in the sights and sounds around them. The lively atmosphere was invigorating, and Asher couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder as they explored. Vendors called out from their stalls, selling delicious snacks and colorful merchandise, while trainers and their Morphix played and interacted in the parks.

The contrast between Brawlhawk's power and Sproutlet's playful energy encapsulated the diversity of Morphix, each one reflecting the unique bond they shared with their trainers.

As he continued to explore the association, Asher felt a renewed determination to build a daycare that would nurture these bonds. Seeing such a range of Morphix made him more excited about his own journey, and he couldn't wait to provide a safe space for Morphix like Sproutlet and strong companions like Brawlhawk to thrive.

Asher made his way through the bustling halls of the Morphix Association, his heart racing with anticipation. The vibrant energy of trainers and Morphix alike filled the air, but he focused on his goal: transferring the ownership of the daycare. With Lunabloom trotting beside him, he navigated through the maze of corridors until he arrived at the section designated for business and ownership transfers.

A sleek desk was positioned in front of a large window, allowing sunlight to filter in and illuminate the room. Behind the desk sat a friendly-looking official, who greeted Asher with a warm smile.

"Welcome to the Morphix Association! How can I assist you today?" the official inquired.

"Hi! I'm Asher Alaric, and I'd like to transfer the ownership of a daycare to my name," Asher replied, his voice steady despite the excitement bubbling within him. "I've prepared the necessary documents."

The official nodded approvingly. "Great! Let's take a look at what you have." Asher handed over the neatly organized papers, including proof of his identity, the original owner's documentation, and any relevant agreements that needed to be transferred.

The official carefully examined each document, ensuring everything was in order. Asher's heart raced as he waited, but he felt a sense of reassurance knowing he had done his homework. After a few minutes of scanning, the official looked up, a smile breaking across their face.

"Everything seems to be in order, Asher! We can proceed with the transfer. This will take just a moment." The official began typing on a sleek console, inputting the necessary information to complete the process.

While the official worked, Lunabloom fidgeted beside Asher, its eyes darting around the room, taking in the bustling environment. Asher leaned down to scratch its head, feeling grateful for its unwavering support.

After a few moments, the official turned back to Asher, a certificate in hand. "Congratulations, Asher! You are now the official owner of the daycare!"

Asher's heart swelled with pride as he accepted the certificate, its glossy surface reflecting the bright lights above. "Thank you so much!" he exclaimed, unable to contain his excitement. "This means everything to me!"

"Remember, running a daycare comes with its own set of challenges," the official cautioned, a knowing smile on their face. "But with dedication and love for your Morphix, I'm sure you'll do great!"

With his certificate clutched tightly, Asher felt a surge of determination. He and Lunabloom stepped outside the Morphix Association, where the bustling city awaited them once more. The sun was shining, and the day felt full of possibilities.

"We did it, Lunabloom!" Asher said, beaming down at his partner. "We're officially on our way to becoming the most renowned daycare owners in Elyndra!"

Lunabloom let out a cheerful sound, its eyes sparkling with joy as they began their journey back home, ready to embark on the exciting challenges that lay ahead.

With the knowledge that they would face every hurdle together, Asher felt an unshakeable bond forming not only with Lunabloom but also with the dream that now belonged to him.
