However, after the progress reached ten per cent, the speed of improvement slowed down.
The key point of the Observer's ultimate form is observation.
It requires going to different places, rather than staying in one location for long periods.
"Choosing the Underworld Mafia as the area to absorb characteristics also has its inconvenient points."
"The Zoldyck Family and the Underworld Mafia don't have a cooperative relationship, so I need to hide my strength and identity, infiltrating on my own."
"I can only take things step by step."
"However, it should take less time than the Hunter Exam, or Greed Island."
Ron thought as he walked.
Suddenly.
A wooden box appeared in Ron's line of sight.
Having to survive for a month in the ruins, the box contained supplies placed there in advance. Otherwise, even the strongest Nen users would not survive a month without water and food.
But at this moment, a figure appeared in front of him.
The next second.
The figure rushed towards Ron with a fierce look.
A sharp blade was tightly gripped.
Ron shook his head, his mind moving.
"Killer Queen!"
Killer Queen blocked the opponent's attack and engaged in a struggle with them.
Ron's figure moved to the opponent's side.
With a quick slash.
"Splurt!"
Ron's Rotten Life Blade struck precisely at the opponent's vital spot.
Ron didn't use the Rotten Life Blade's ability, relying only on its sharpness.
A wound appeared on the opponent's waist.
Blood spurted out in large quantities.
The opponent's face immediately turned pale.
However, they still didn't give up and turned to charge at Ron again.
The fierceness in their eyes became even more intense than before.
"Even if I die, I'll drag you down with me!"
"You little brat, don't get too cocky!"
Ron shook his head.
He raised the Rotten Life Blade in his hand and swung it horizontally.
This time, it struck precisely at the opponent's throat.
"Splurt!"
The opponent clutched their throat, unwilling to fall.
Such scenes were insignificant in this testing ground. In many corners, similar events were happening, not just over resource disputes.
It was also a fight for life and death to weed out their fellow challengers.
------
A month quickly passed.
A middle-aged man appeared at the entrance of the ruins.
*Bang!*
The door opened.
"Assessment over!"
As the middle-aged man spoke, and figures began walking out from the ruins.
"Congratulations, you've passed the assessment."
"From today, you'll be one of the candidates for the Seven Deadly Sins."
"Keep up the good work."
An identity card was handed to Ron.
"This is your identification."
"With this, you are officially an executive of the Underworld Mafia."
"In this city, you have the freedom to move about."
"You may go anywhere, except for a few restricted areas."
Upon hearing this, Ron's eyes lit up.
This was exactly what he wanted.
Becoming one of the Seven Deadly Sins members?
Becoming one of the Shadow Beasts?
Becoming an executive of the Underworld Mafia?
Ron didn't care about any of these.
What Ron wanted was the freedom to move within the Underworld Mafia.
The key point of the Observer's ultimate form is still observation.
At the Zoldyck Estate, Ron didn't need to worry.
Because Ron himself was one of the owners of the Zoldyck Estate, and he would not be obstructed anywhere.
Thus, in a very short time, he absorbed the Zoldyck Estate's characteristics to one hundred per cent.
Of course, this also had something to do with the relatively small size of the Zoldyck Estate.
It wasn't very large, and when compared to the other areas where Ron has absorbed characteristics, it was the smallest one yet.
Going to the Sky Arena was a bit more complicated.
The lower floors were easy; as long as Ron bought a ticket, he could go anywhere. If he can't be a participant, he can be a spectator—just being able to go is enough. His identity doesn't matter.
But the 251st floor of the Sky Arena posed a bit of trouble for Ron.
However, luckily The Fighting Tournament is held once every two years occured.
Ron waited for the tournament to take place before absorbing the characteristics of the Sky Arena to 100%.
As for Meteor City, it was vast—basically a country unto itself.
And then Ron encountered the reality of the KUTE Thieves.
Ron spent quite a bit of time before he could fully absorb the characteristics of Meteor City. Which was sped up thanks to KUTE.
The Underworld Mafia is similarly vast in area.
Compared to Meteor City, it is even more spread out.
It's not a single city or even two cities but dispersed across many countries and cities.
Aurean was just one of the core cities.
Ron is currently unsure how much of the Underworld Mafia he needs to observe to reach 100% progress, but he plans to absorb as much as he can in Aurean.
From his previous experience in Meteor City, Ron knows it's not necessarily about observing everything in a region.
In Meteor City, there were many things Ron hadn't observed yet.
----
A figure was waiting not far away.
There was a car beside them.
Ron recognized the person.
This was one of Greed's butlers.
"Lord Ron…"
"Mr. Waters."
Waters opened the car door and said, "Lord Greed is away on a mission, so he's not in Aurean. If there's anything you need, feel free to let me know." (t/n asks him for a cup of water... Ok i will stop now)
Ron nodded and got into the car.
"Mr. Waters, would you mind showing me around Aurean?"
"The person who gave me my executive identification earlier said I could go almost anywhere in the city, though there are a few restricted areas."
"Could you tell me about them?"
Waters nodded.
"Of course."
Waters personally drove.
Ron sat in the passenger seat.
The car moved at a moderate pace.
Ron looked at the crystal ball in front of him.
Twenty days ago, the progress in the crystal ball had stopped because Ron had been trapped in the ruins.
Now that he was out, the crystal ball resumed absorbing.
As Waters drove, he introduced the city.
"This city is one of the core cities of the Underworld Mafia, and in fact, is considered the most important city."
"Beautiful, magnificent…"
Waters' face showed a proud expression.
"Lord Ron, now that you've gained executive status with the Underworld Mafia, you have higher authority than me."
"As for the places you can't visit, there are probably just four."
"The first is the tallest, largest, and most luxurious building in the centre of Aurean."
"The Grand Conference Hall."
"I've never been inside, but Lord Greed has been there, though only a few times."
"There's a rumour that if the Ten Dons come to Aurean, they'll stay in the Grand Conference Hall."
"The second is the Engineering Factory."
"Our Underworld Mafia has its own weapons manufacturing line. We don't rely completely on external weapons; firearms, grenades, rocket launchers, and more can all be made here."
"We even sell them externally."
"The third is the No. 2 Experimental Base."
"This base is very mysterious, and I don't know what goes on inside."
"By the way, the person you asked about from Lord Greed, they're someone from this No. 2 Experimental Base." (t/n he means when Ron asked Greed about Kyler's teacher)
"The fourth is the Shadow Beast Estate."
"That's where the Shadow Beasts are based, and no one else is allowed in unless invited."
