Chapter 66 - Chapter 66

The giant cockroach raised its sharp claws and lunged toward Zeno Zoldyck's position.

"Bang!"

The two forces collided, causing the ground to tremble beneath them.

"Grandpa Zeno isn't actually attacking; he's just testing the waters."

This brings us back to the same point: information. For Nen users, information is crucial, as the possibilities with Nen are vast and filled with all sorts of bizarre abilities. If you fall victim to an opponent's Nen ability, even if they are weaker, you could still end up defeated. This is something the Zoldyck family cannot afford. Members of the Zoldyck family will only engage in battles they are confident they can win.

Both Zeno and the cockroach moved with incredible speed, exchanging countless blows in an instant.

Ron compared the battle unfolding before him to the fighting tournament he had witnessed earlier at the Sky Arena.

"Grandpa Zeno is stronger than all the floor masters, including the one who qualified to challenge the master. But I can't determine who is stronger between him and that floor master.

The floor master didn't fight with full power in the tournament, and besides, the challenger's strength was too weak to reveal much."

Park was closely following Ron, terrified by the sight of the giant cockroach. This was something Park had never encountered before. At first, his instinct was to run as far away as possible to escape the creature.

However, after calming down, Park realized that fleeing didn't guarantee safety. Staying close to Ron seemed like the best choice; after all, Zeno was the strongest person present. If he ran away, Zeno would surely not care about him.

Ron glanced at Park but quickly returned his focus to the battle between Zeno and the giant cockroach. At the same time, he observed the crystal ball in front of him. Ron noticed that after the giant cockroach appeared, the speed at which the crystal ball absorbed energy had actually increased. This made him feel a bit hopeful.

"Almost there!"

Zeno analyzed the giant cockroach's fighting style and intent. In the next moment, he adjusted his approach. No longer using the Dragon Head, he closed the distance directly.

"Limbs Twisting!" (Called Limber before)

This was one of the Zoldyck family's body techniques, which Ron had used before. However, when Zeno executed it now, the effect was entirely different. Combined with Nen, dozens of Zeno clones appeared on the battlefield, surrounding the giant cockroach.

The giant cockroach spun its eyes rapidly, trying to pinpoint Zeno's exact location.

In that moment, "Bang!" Zeno suddenly dashed toward one of the giant cockroach's legs, targeting the joint with a series of powerful strikes.

"Crack!"

Under Zeno's assault, the joint shattered, a large amount of green goo spraying out. Zeno quickly recoiled as the goo fell to the ground, corroding the trash and soil beneath.

A sharp screech erupted from the giant cockroach's body. Zeno moved to the other side and attacked the giant cockroach's leg joint again. One, two, three… The giant cockroach was momentarily at a loss against Zeno. The speed difference between them was too great, and the giant cockroach's size limited its agility.

Ron could distinctly feel the giant cockroach's anger intensifying.

Suddenly, "Puff!" The giant cockroach curled up against the ground, using its hard shell to face Zeno while its abdomen inflated as if being pumped up.

Zeno's eyes flickered for a moment. The next instant, he charged straight for the giant cockroach's compound eye.

"Bang!"

A powerful blow struck the giant cockroach's compound eye, causing it to burst open. Countless goo splattered everywhere, and the giant cockroach let out an agonizing scream. A mass of white liquid was expelled from its rear end.

Ron's pupils dilated. Park couldn't see it, but Ron could. In that white liquid were countless tiny lifeforms, they were cockroaches!

The giant cockroach let out a roar, and these little cockroaches immediately swarmed out, moving with incredible speed. Compared to the giant cockroach, these small cockroaches perfectly avoided the drawbacks of slow speed and poor agility; they could match Zeno's speed, even posing a greater threat than the giant cockroach itself.

Some of the small cockroaches rushed toward the fallen corpses on the ground, gnawing at them, while others, upon spotting Ron and the others, charged straight at them.

Park's face was filled with terror.

Suddenly, a figure stepped in front of Ron.

Facing the oncoming small cockroaches, Hanma Baki smiled. Even as a Nen Beast, Hanma Baki inherited some traits from the original —an extreme desire for combat, especially in challenging battles.

"Whip Strike!"

In an instant, Hanma Baki's body became flexible, flowing like water. This was an exceptional combat technique, using his body to mimic the flow of water and utilizing tremendous inertia to increase his attack power.

"This technique is somewhat similar to the Serpent Style used by the Zoldyck family. But unlike Serpent Style, which only utilizes the arms, Whip Strike uses the entire body. I can apply this technique directly. I'll just adapt my prior experiences with Serpent Style to my entire body."

Ron divided his aura into two parts—one focused on Hanma Baki, and the other remaining with himself. Since Ron's aura capacity was greater than that of other Nen users at his level, even after splitting his aura, he still had plenty left. Ron essentially operated as if he were two Nen users of the same level.

Generally speaking, a Manipulation-type Nen user couldn't achieve this extent. Nen Beasts have limited abilities. Non-automatic Nen Beasts require the user's energy to control them. Even automatic Nen Beasts possess relatively simple combat techniques, differing from a real human.

But Ron's Nen Beast was different; it was no less effective than a normal human. This was Ron's unique advantage.

"Bang!"

Hanma Baki's arm struck the small cockroach's head, creating a tremendous sound. The small cockroach's head exploded under Hanma Baki's attack, green goo splattering everywhere. Ron took a few steps back, wanting to avoid getting any of that goo on himself.

"Sir, is there anything you need me to do?" Park asked, gritting his teeth.

In the face of the giant cockroach, Park had no desire to fight; they were on completely different levels. If he charged in, he would only be asking for death. However, seeing how easily Hanma Baki dispatched a small cockroach, Park felt he should be able to handle one as well. He wanted to contribute, fearing that if the situation worsened, he might be abandoned.

"You can give it a try," Ron said, not stopping Park.

Park focused on a lone small cockroach and chose it as his target. As he rushed forward, a long spear appeared in his hand, its tip sharp and the shaft a deep red colour, while the end was golden.

"Clang!"

Park's spear struck the small cockroach. The sound of metal colliding echoed. Park's expression changed as he realized the small cockroach's body was stronger than he had anticipated. After seeing how easily Hanma Baki had blown apart a small cockroach's head, Park had underestimated them, misjudging Baki's strength.
