"Hm? Great Wall?" I suddenly said, not bothered by that old man. I knew he would suddenly appear in front of me the moment I got here.
I looked at the old man dressed in pure white robes, a yin-yang symbol floating above his head, slowly rotating. Even though he was old, his sharp eyes gleamed like stars, and his neatly combed beard gave him a wise and calm appearance.
"This is just a recorded message, so I can't answer any of your questions. You've broken the multiversal laws and ended up in this old man's domain."
'Looks like my soul has been wandering through the multiverse, huh? Too bad I'm not conscious while it's traveling.'
"Well, this isn't exactly my domain—I'm just a guardian of this universes. Your soul acted as a ticket to get you here, and that's the problem."
"You mortals were never meant to make it this far. Even if your soul traveled, it shouldn't have reached the edge of the multiverse! I've seen your memories—you're just an ordinary human from a distant, forgotten universe."
I chuckled at the sight of that old man and couldn't help but laugh as if my existence should not exist.
"Your existence should not be exist!"
"Your existence breaks the law of chains that keep this multiverse intact! I should be doing my all to erase your existence down to your family line, but I did not. It is such a shame to see one of the greatest taboos die."
"....."
'Well, it seems like I unconsciously broke the most serious taboo in this multiverse.'
The old man paused for the minute, seemingly thinking about something, and sighed and glared at me.
"You should be dying in my hands, but even for me, I could do nothing about you because of that damn sphere protecting your entire soul; it even managed to injure me that will take me billions of years to heal!"
My whole body tensed as the old man spoke, saying I should have been gone long ago. The thought of someone, or something, controlling life and death—able to kill me as if I were nothing more than an ant—left a bitter taste in my mouth.
Looking at the red sphere-like object, because of this, my soul is protected, and that old man even suffered a heavy loss that will keep that old man occupied for a time being.
"Good very good. Even if you can't do anything to me, even if you are above this universe, there will be a day you will fall."
He is, after all, a vengeful person; even his opponent is a godlike being. It didn't take him a second thought to payback this old man.
As for you dying? He already died once. If he were afraid of the concept of death, he wouldn't enjoy the life he will have in the future. He just needs to get stronger.
Growing irritably by those old man's words, he couldn't help it; after all, he didn't like the way the old man spoke about killing him so casually. If he was given the chance, he would surely make that old man pay.
Looking at the red sphere, this sphere even makes that old man injured himself. It will take that old man billions of years, which is enough time to make preparation and even guard himself to others supreme beings just like this old man.
"I know you thinking you brat, and no, even for me, I can't take any move for you that is written by multiversal law that you broke you little rascal; even if you are the taboo, the multiversal law still can protect you. Seriously, I don't know why the multiversal law can still protect you at the same time prohibited your existence; it doesn't make any sense!"
"Well anyways, I'm dying is not worth chasing you. I'm not some sort of Xianxia old man, you little rascal. No need to take hard feelings; I'm already dead if you see this. To hide your abnormality, I have to hide this part of domain from the law of the multiverse as for what exactly that law is. You will know when you reach my level."
The old man suddenly chuckled. The intense atmosphere vanished as if it were nothing, even if it was just a recorded message. It was still terrifying.
"The records of multiversal law can't be read, so if you have any thoughts that someone will read your destiny or fate, you can rest assured no one is strong enough to do that yet."
'This old man... I will just begin thinking that, but he even predicted it?'
I took a long breath, digesting that old man's words little by little. This is new knowledge to me. Universe, multiverse, gods, outer gods. I sigh and look at the old man deeply.
"To hide your existence as the greatest taboo, I need to die but also seal this domain; after all, there are too many eyes; even if I personally take charge, they will find you immediately."
"After all, your soul is very special, and that red sphere of yours? That is the different subject; that damn terrifying artifact will probably cause the multiverse to go into chaos."
My eyes deeply stared at the red sphere; I couldn't help but touch it.
'this sphere...'
"You find that in your own; time will tell. I made you a favor; a help for someone like me is rare, but you will have to help me when the time comes. I sealed it to your memories, so when you are strong enough, it will unlock in their own."
I lightly laugh, 'Well, nothing is free from this world, even for someone like this kind of being.'
"Don't disappoint me, young man; as for how special you are, you have to discover it yourself."
The old man stood up, stretched his back, and looked at me deeply.
"The world you will end up in will probably reject your existence, but that just from the start you will blend into that universe as if you were there when you were born."
"Go wild."
That is the last word of that old man before the white screen closes.
This is too much, even for him. He was just a regular, normal person in the past, but knowing he will be hunted by that kind being sends a chill to his body.
"No matter what, I have to be strong." That old man didn't give me a time limit. I guess it will take sometime for those beings to find me, but when they do, I have probably the strength to protect myself.
'For now, I will enjoy this world. No need to worry about the future. Let the future me handle it.'
He clenched his half-transparent fist, looking at the red sphere before him. A smile escaped his face.
"Go wild, huh? I will do that, old man."
