Chapter 1 - The start of my new-er life

I died.

How? I can't seem to remember much of it. I just remember embracing it. My life was as ordinary as the next person. I had live day to day, the only things making me happy being anime. Death was my finale, as it was everyone else's.

At least that's what I thought. I was approached by a higher being after I died. It proposed to me a deal.

One where I can continue living.

I hadn't thought of it twice and directly accepted.

The chuckle that left the being's mouth at that time should've been enough to tell me that this 'deal' wasn't that much in my favor, but I didn't care for I wanted to live.

"Very well. You will be reborn anew in a chaotic world, but with a boon you are very familiar with. Go now. Bring me entertainment."

Those were the last words the being said to me before everything went dark.

And here I am now.

I pushed my thoughts back as I gazed at the massive gates in front of me. Above the gates a name read out.

"Konohagakure no Sato..." I mumbled, unsure of whether this was the correct choice or not. "It's better than nothing." I said to myself. I remember all of this. This Village was one of the many Villages in a Manga I used to read.

 Naruto.

I don't remember much from it, just that it's a world where children kill for money while being brainwashed by adults.

Now why am I questioning myself about entering the strongest Village? Because it's the strongest Village externally. But internally there's many problems.

I could've gone to a much more stable Kumogakure no Sato, but there's one problem. The same problem that had me reason to myself that Konoha was the best choice.

Knowledge. Even the little he still had.

I knew nothing of the small and large events that happen inside Kumogakure. So although Konoha isn't the best choice of Village. It's the safest for him as he can navigate through things with his Knowledge.

Shaking the thoughts away, I walk into the Village and approach the stall where two ninja sat.

"I request an audience with the Hokage." I spoke up, my childlike voice not undermining the confidence with which I spoke.

I look at the ninjas glancing at each other in confusion, but before one of them could speak up, the other one nudged him and pointed towards the haori I wore.

More specifically towards the side of my shoulder where my family insignia stood proudly.

The two whispered to each other before one of them vanished in a swirl of leaves.

The last remaining ninja cleared his throat. "We will inform the Hokage of your arrival as soon as possible." He said, his tone respectful.

I nod at his words and stand next to the stall, my left hand resting on the hilt of my Katana.

---

Hiruzen narrows his eyes after the ninja left his office. Talking a pull from his pipe, he sighs. "Kuchiki clan..." He muttered, taking out a scroll and reading it's contents.

The Kuchiki clan was a noble civilian family serving under the Daimyo. But during the Second Shinobi War, the family had been assassinated before anyone could realize what happened.

Hiruzen's eyes stop at the photo of a young boy with grey eyes and long black hair tied in a high ponytail. "Byakuya Kuchiki. The last survivor of the Kuchiki clan. Why did you leave the protection of the Daimyo?" He muttered before summoning an Anbu ninja.

"Bring Byakuya here." Hiruzen ordered and the ninja left with a 'Yes, Hokage.'

Not long after, a knock could be heard from his office's door. "Enter." He spoke up and looked at the young boy who came in. Carefully examining the boy's posture, he noted how the boy held himself high.

"Hokage." Byakuya bowed slightly in greeting.

Hiruzen put on a faint smile. "Byakuya. My condolences. It's a shame what happened to the Kuchiki clan." He says lighly, a sympathetic look across his face.

"Thank you, Hokage." Byakuya nodded. "But I'm not here for pity, Hokage."

Hiruzen raised an eyebrow at the boy's words. "What brings you to Konoha then?"

"I would like to integrate the Kuchiki clan into Konoha." Byakuya reveals, looking firmly into the Hokage's eyes.

"Hmm." Hiruzen hums, sifting through his thoughts.

Noticing the silence from the Hokage, Byakuya couldn't blame him. The Kuchiki clan, although powerful, were just civilians.

"Hokage-sama." Byakuya spoke up, calling the Hokage in a respectful and subservient manner. "The Kuchiki clan's Bloodline developed a Kekkei Genkai." He explained calmly as he spotted the Hokage's eyes widen.

Silence once again descended in the office, before being broken by Hiruzen blowing smoke out. "Is what you speak of the truth?" He asks, gazing into the boys eyes.

Byakuya nods before putting his hand on his sword.

Hiruzen calmly lifts his hand in the air, stopping the Anbu who prepared to strike Byakuya down.

"This is the manifestation of the Kuchiki clan's Kekkei Genkai." Byakuya spoke, drawing the blade and presenting it to Hiruzen.

Hiruzen frowns, not understanding what the katana has to do with the Kekkei Genkai, but nonetheless takes the katana from Byakuya. "What?!" His eyes widen as he touched the blade. 'This isn't metal. It's formed purely out of Chakra.' He thought before shaking his head. "No... Not Chakra..." He mutters feeling it was quite similar to Chakra.

"Yes." Byakuya nods before reaching his hand out and the katana appears in his grasp, stunning Hiruzen. "I manifested the Kekkei Genkai just before the clan was slaughtered, so no one knew." He explained sheathing the katana. "I call it Zanpakuto. The Katana is formed by my spiritual energy."

"Zanpakuto..." Hiruzen copies, nodding at the name. "a Befitting name." 'That explains why it felt similar to Chakra. Chakra is both Physical and Spiritual energy.' Hiruzen thought before turning his attention back to the boy. "What are the abilities of your Zanpakuto?" He questions, only to see the boy shake his head.

"I don't know yet, Hokage-Sama." Byakuya answered.

"Very well..." Hiruzen spoke up. "I permit you in establishing a clan in Konohagakure no Sato. We will provide you a property and a monthly income-"

Byakuya interjects, cutting the Hkage off. "Sorry, Hokage-sama, but I won't be needing it as I inherited my clan's wealth." He apologizes and explains.

"That's good." Hiruzen nods. "Then I formally welcome you to Konoha." He says, smiling at the boy.

"Thank you Hokage-Sama." Byakuya bowed slightly before exiting the office.

Byakuya walked out, his thoughts drifting to how he revealed his abilities to the Hokage. 'It was the only choice I had to fully integrate myself into Konoha and establish a position for myself. This will also eliminate some of the doubts the Hokage had about my identity.'

He exited the Hoakge Tower and looked around. 'Now then. It's time to buy a house for the newly established Kuchiki Clan.'

Inside the Hokage's office, Hiruzen looked at the door right before a man burst in. "Hiruzen. How could you let an unknown boy enter the village?" The man spoke.

Hiruzen just sighed. "He is not an unknown, Danzo."

"He could be a spy, Hiruzen!" Danzo slammed his hand against the desk. "During these times of war, we can't be too safe. Let the Root take over the boy."

Hiruzen narrowed his eyes, hearing his friends words. "So that's why you came here. No, Danzo. The boy will integrate into the village as a normal shinobi."

Danzo looked at the Hokage's calm demeanor before scoffing and walking out of the office.

News of the Kuchiki boy quickly traveled throughout the Village. a New clan with a Kekkei Genkai isn't something people hear everyday.

And so a week passed.
