Cold Mist Forest ,
The tree leaves rustled gently in the wind , the forest was calm and quiet, not even the usual cries of the forest creatures could be heard.
The forest was unusually quiet.
Puddles of water had been formed on the stony forest floor.
A pale and serene moon's reflection could be seen in the water .
Suddenly the water in the puddles began to vibrate and the reflections became blurry.
A shadow suddenly flashed above the puddles leaving behind a trail of wind.
The puddle became calm after awhile but around the puddle where the shadow had passed were drops of crimson blood.
The water in the puddle had also turned bloody red.
The scene was entirely eerie.
Moments later the water began to tremble ,
it was small at first but very soon the whole forest began to shake
Indisinct vouces began to spread :
" Where the hell is the bastard ?"
"Find him"
"We must not let him live"
Several robed figures appeared dashing through the forest some where flying on weapons and others were running but everyone's speed was incredibly fast and their vast killing intent made the creatures of the forest to hide away in fear.
Their figures disappeared gradually in the direction the shadow from earlier had fled.
Several hundred metres away, the shadow had stopped revealing a youth in dark robes.
His face was covered in mud,grime and blood making it nearly impossible to see his face.
Before him was a dark chasm that seemed to have no end and he was standing at the edge of the cliff.
There was no doubt that if he jumped into the chasm he would die.
"No where to run again kid" a sneer came from the canopy of trees behind him.
The youth turned around and gazed into the forest.
The robed men from earlier began to appear.
They numbered up to two hundred
Their gazes were sinister while looking at the youth.
The man who had spoken stepped forward with three other men.
The four men looked at the youth with evil smiles.
One of them wearing a purple robe sneered:
"Su Yang , there is no running for you this time around"
"Kid , Tell me where your Su clan treasure is and I will give you a less painful death" another person sneered.
Su Yang was silent but his eyes were burning with intense hatred.
He opened his cracked lips and a cold voice rang ;
" Murong Clan ,Nangong clan , Hundred Treasures Pavilion and the Nine Yang Sword sect....his voice was filled with the immeasurable hatred he was feeling.
" The four of you ,under the pretext of a martial arts exchange poisoned my Su clan and massacred everyone , when my father died helping me escape, you guys chased me all the way."
Su Yang smiled weakly. But that weak smile contained endless determination.
"You guys will never get my Su clan treasure...!!" Su Yang shouted then began to run towards the chasm
The purple robed man frowned, then a sword covered in a layer of red light appeared in his hand.
He slashed his sword creating a blast of red sword light that shot towards the youth.
Su Yang gritted his teeth as a layer of purple spirit qi covered his legs.
He dashed to the left dodging the sword light but he felt a tug on his left shoulder and his left arm appeared in his vision flying into the chasm.
The sword light had chopped of one his arms.
He grunted in pain but he never stopped as he jumped into the chasm himself.
"If I don t die...I swear that I will take my revenge on you all and all those who betrayed my clan." His voice trailed into their ears .
"Let's go down and kill him " the purple robed man said taking out a flying sword.
"Go down there ?? Murong Shan , don't be stupid...that's the Misty Abyss...it's a death zone" the red robed man beside Murong Shan sneered.
At the mention of dead zone, all the men backed away in fear.
"Let's leave" the red robed man said stepping on his flying sword.
No one dared to go after Su Yang. What was a death zone ?
No one knew what was inside death zobes but everyone knew that even the strongest person on this continent had no chance of survival in a death zone.
And it happened that the chasm Su Yang had jumped into was one of such zones.
There was no way he would survive.
