The Miller's Moon™ estate was a beautiful place indeed. It had tall trees and huge white mansions spread across the neighborhood. But apart from those giant mansions, on the other side of the estate were smaller houses which the residents paid rent for.
The houses were not as beautiful as the mansions in the estate and they did not have the same tall trees and nice tarred roads. All the residents paid hundreds of dollars to Edger Wallington just to live in those smaller houses and yet, they were ridiculed and mistreated by Edger Wallington and other wealthy millionaires who lived in the estate.
In one of the small houses, the one with a red roof, lived Mrs Stacey Brooklyn, formerly known as Stacey Miller, Braden's aunty. Stacey had married James Brooklyn, a millionaire who owned The Brooklyn Group, one of the most important and richest companies in the state. But after James's death in a car accident, The Wallington Corporation who oversaw The Brooklyn Group, stole the company under their name, just like Elijah did with Michael's pharmaceutical company.
And because of that, Stacey had been left with nothing to take over and nothing to use to take care of her children Michelle and Blake. She lived as an occupant in one of the small houses and paid a rent of one hundred and thirty dollars every month to Edger Wallington. Whenever she was behind, he would threaten to throw her away into the streets, not caring about his relationship with her husband James, who is now dead.
That day, Stacey managed to make some pancakes for her kids as she got ready to go to work. She worked as a nurse in Miller's Medicals under Elijah Durham. The pay was barely enough for them to survive and she was once again behind on the rent payment.
There was a loud bang on the door. Stacey fell quiet, knowing who it was that was knocking. The knock came again, louder this time, banging without care.
"Open the door, Mrs Brooklyn!" a rough male voice demanded. "Don't make us break through the door. You will pay for it yourself."
Stacey and her two children all shared glances of terror. They knew they were going to be evicted this time, there was nothing they could do to stop those two mean messengers of Edger Wallington.
"What are we going to do, mom?" Blake asked.
"Don't let them evict us, mom. We have nowhere else to go," Michelle added.
"Stacey Brooklyn! Open this door right this instant!" the men yelled from behind the door.
Stacey gulped and readied herself for what was to surely happen. "Alright kids, go inside to your rooms and do not come out no matter what you hear."
"Mom, what are you going to do?"
"Blake! Follow your sister and go to your room!" Stacey ordered. Once the kids started to go, she went and opened the door.
Barrack and Chameleon were standing by the door, anger in their eyes. They were tall mean men and Stacey was always scared around them.
"How can I help you boys?" she asked them, trying to act normal.
"Didn't you hear us knocking?" Chameleon asked.
"I did, but I was helping my daughter with something and I couldn't just leave her own," Stacey lied. "Why are you two here?"
"You know why we're here, Mrs Brooks," Barrack replied. "You're two months late in your monthly rent. You owe rent for three months and you've been staying here freely. Now, we're here to evict you." They handed Stacey an eviction notice.
"Please, I beg you boys to just give me one extra month. Just one more month. Please beg Mr. Wallington for me," Stacey began to plead.
"It was Mr. Wallington that demanded that I give this eviction to you and send you out immediately," Barrack said.
"Okay, why not two weeks? Please, just two weeks!" she begged more. "I will have the money by then."
"No!" Chameleon banged his hand on the door, causing Stacey to fling in fear. "We've given you enough time already! Either you bring the money right now, or we are forcefully packing your things out of here! This is an estate for the rich, trash like you shouldn't be here anyways."
"Oh I beg you!" Stacey immediately fell to her knees. "My children and I have no other place to go to. You will make us homeless."
"Don't listen to her!" A wealthy man named Colin Bradley said as he was entering his house. "Disgusting scum like them shouldn't even be here. Take her away! Evict her!"
"Evict her!" his wife, Rosely, added. They both then watched from the porch. Colin and Rosely were the most meanest couple in the entire estate to Stacey. They always threw rubbish at her house and called her names.
With that, Barrack and Chameleon began to drag Stacey out of the house as she begged. "Please, please. Don't do this!"
"Mommy!" Michelle and Blake came running to the front door, crying as they tried to save their mommy.
"The kids! Grab them!" Barrack said, and they both took the two children.
"No! Michelle, Blake!" Stacey cried as her kids were taken away from her.
"Yes!" Colin Bradley yelled in happiness with his wife. "Chase them out! We do not want these poor scallywags at the same estate as us!"
The two mean men were about to take the children away when they heard the loud noise of a siren approaching the estate. Everyone froze, they all fell silent and watched.
Five expensive armoured cars lined up in the streets of the estate and just packed directly in front of Stacey's house. Men in black suits came out of the cars, they were all looking focused and official, pistols hidden in their belts as they stood in attention.
Then the door was opened in the sleekest black car. A blonde slim woman hopped out of the car, holding a file case in her hand. She looked around the estate and then walked up to Stacey's home. She eyed Barrack and Chameleon.
"Drop the kids if you don't want to get into any trouble with my boss," she said.
"Who's your boss?" Chameleon asked.
"You'll find out soon," she replied then walked to Stacey. "You are Mrs Stacey Brooklyn aren't you, sister to the deceased Micheal Miller?"
"Y— yes... Yes I am," Stacey stuttered.
"I'm Kessie Falfox, secretary to owner and president of Mandarium Hotels," the lady said.
"Mr. Bethel Riverson?" Stacey asked.
"Hah! We're not afraid of Bethel Riverson. He's under my boss. Mr. Edger will crush him for something like this." Chameleon said.
"Mr. Bethel Riverson is no longer the owner and president of Mandarium Hotels," Kessie replied in a matter-of-fact way.
"What?"
The door was opened once again, and a tall, well dressed, handsome man walked out of the car. He was wearing an expensive suit and a black polished shoe with dark sunglasses. He looked powerful and influential. His head was held high and he was absolutely majestic, filling the air with an imposing aura.
"That is my boss and the new president of Mandarium Hotels," Kessie announced. "His name is Braden Cross."
