Fluctuations
After winning the Magic Innovation Competition, the reputations of Thomas and Leah quickly rose in the academy. They were not only regarded as models of magic innovation but also seen as the pride of the academy. However, with the growth of reputation, Thomas began to feel an unprecedented pressure. His emotions began to fluctuate, and the inner peace was gradually replaced by anxiety and uneasiness.
One night, Thomas sat alone at his desk in the dormitory, playing with the trophy he won in the competition. Although it was a symbol of honor, at this moment, it seemed extremely heavy in Thomas's hands. There was confusion in his eyes, and his heart was full of uncertainty about the future.
"Thomas, you seem to have something on your mind recently." Leah walked into the dormitory and looked at him with concern.
Thomas looked up and forced a smile. "Nothing. I'm just a bit tired."
Leah walked up to him and said seriously, "I know that winning the competition has brought you a lot of attention, but don't forget that the reason you succeeded is because of your talent and effort. Don't let external pressure affect you."
Thomas took a deep breath. He knew that Leah's words were out of concern, but the fluctuations in his heart were not so easy to calm down. He began to reflect on his emotional fluctuations and tried to find the reason.
In the following days, Thomas began to try to adjust his emotions through meditation and magic practice. He tried to focus on the present instead of external praise or criticism. However, he found this was not easy. Whenever he heard others' praise for him, a sense of pride would well up in his heart; and whenever he heard others' doubts, he would fall into self-doubt.
Ms. Alison noticed Thomas's emotional fluctuations and decided to talk to him. "The path of a magician is full of challenges and temptations." She said. "You must learn to control your emotions and don't let external voices sway your heart."
Thomas listened carefully. He knew that there was profound wisdom in Ms. Alison's words. He began to practice harder and tried to calm his emotions through magic.
During a meditation, Thomas suddenly realized that emotional fluctuations were actually a manifestation of inner strength. He realized that the reason he felt anxious and uneasy was that he had too high expectations for himself and too deep fear of the future.
He began to try to accept his emotions instead of trying to suppress them. He learned to stop, take a deep breath, and then slowly analyze his emotions and find their roots when he was experiencing emotional fluctuations.
As time passed, Thomas gradually learned how to control his emotions. He was no longer swayed by external voices but learned to make decisions according to his own heart. At a magic exhibition in the academy, Thomas needed to show his magic in front of many audiences. Although he felt nervous, his emotions did not get out of control. He took a deep breath and then calmly cast his magic. His magic was precise and elegant and won warm applause from the audience.
Leah applauded for him below. There was pride in her eyes. "You did it, Thomas. You controlled your emotions and showed the true demeanor of a magician."
Thomas smiled. His heart was full of satisfaction and confidence.
